I'm having a hard time looking for an easy to understand instruction to download, set up and use this HTML Tidy by Dave Raggett.
Please help, I need this kind of tool that can almost perfectly scan html errors.
If there is a GUI version for the latest one, please share the link.
Click the link to the downloads
Pick binary executables
select a version suitable for your edition of Windows
A precompiled Windows binary for the experimental HTML5-fork can be found at http://tidybatchfiles.info/.

I was trying to download Monodevelop for mac, but on the official page there is everything but a compiled and downloadable file.
I've read around other threads on different forum and apparently it is required to compile the source code. Is this really the case?
What other alternative may exist for Mac? I just need to dig into some source code, using references and jumping from code portion to others without using the search filter.
Thanks.
If you want a binary for Mac, you need to go to Xamarin's homepage and simply download Xamarin Studio.
Xamarin Studio is basically the same thing as MonoDevelop, the only difference is a bit of branding and the inclusion of 3 plugins for their proprietary development offerings, which you can ignore if you're not interested in developing for the mobile platform.
i need to package my plugin into an installer so that it can install on all available browsers on the computer.
After browsing many topics, i found a couple of script to single install Chrome or FF script with NSIS that helped a lot, but i really need a full NSIS script that will be able to install the extension for all browsers in a single install.
I'm sure this has been built many times over and if anybody could share a script example i could tweak to my needs, it would be greatly appreciated as i could only find bits and pieces and would like to see how the big picture fits together.
My requirements are quite simple :
got the files in XPi, CRX.. extension file format
I need a windows installer (NSIS) to install the extension for each available scripts
if it could feed from a server, that would be a plus, but not mendatory
I use Kango framework, so using another solution is not an option for now
Thanks a lot for your help !
UPDATE : I'm still trying to figure it out and can't find much support, keep in mind i cannot use CROSSRider. Please help thanks a lot
No need to reinvent the wheel there. I think you're looking for something like crossrider.com, it's a cross-browser extension platform. Take a look specifically at the "Windows Installer" option on your app settings there - You can choose to bundle your extension with your installation.
All,
I have very limited knowledge of .aspx and ultimately what I want to do is exactly this:
http://www.webonweboff.com/widgets/ajax/ajax_linked_selection.aspx
I appreciate the code is given in the link above, but I am only familiar with HTML and Javascript so when it starts to tell me .aspx and .cs code I get a little lost. Have done my homework and I guess i need to install something to run these programs. Naively, I only have notepad++ at the moment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Joe
Your best bet is to go to http://www.asp.net/downloads and click the big green Install Now button. This will use the Microsoft Web Installer to download everything you need to get started with ASP.NET development (including Visual Studio Express which will take the place of notepad++!).
Try installing visual web developer and create ASP.NET wesite in C#. You should be able to run these files.

Also try going through these tutorials

ASPX is like CGI programming. Yes you need to install the ASP.NET developer studio in order to deploy your web application. It will then configure a default webserver on your local host where you can start playing with the code samples.
I found this site that has a link to a .Net project.
The link is to a folder structure.
How do I down load this project without SVN??
Is it specific SVN??
http://svn2.assembla.com/svn/nbdn_web_store/
Source Code
I would say that either you install svn (which is not a huge install), or you have a lot of clicking to do when you download each file separately using your web browser. Can't see any other alternatives, really.
install subversion and check out the file with e.g. the command
svn co http://svn2.assembla.com/svn/nbdn_web_store/trunk/ ndbn_web_store
First of all, I agree that installing svn is a good option.
If you don't want to do that (and don't like clicking tons of links to download each file) you can use an offline browser such as this one recommended by CNET
I need to write on-line help (Eclipse help format) for an Eclipse plugin. I tried out the evaluation of Help Composer that comes as part of RCP Developer from Instantiations and it pretty much does what I am looking for. However at $500 per license it's way overkill and over budget for my needs.
Surely there must be some other tool for managing the help project, assembling the various files, table of contents, and editing the html documents using WYSIWYG.
Does anybody have any suggestions for what plugin(s) I should add to a basic Eclipse 3.5 install to give me full authoring capability?
Thanks in advance!
I know that my solution is not entirely what you need, but you should have a look at Mylyn Wikitext .
It uses a simple markup with good editor support and is also capable of exporting to Eclipse Help format.
I gave up looking for free since all the available tools have a lot of shortcomings.
I decided to use Adobe RoboHelp 8 since it has one of the nicest editors that I found. However, the main benefit for me has been that it automatically updates links in all pages if I rename or move a topic (which I do a lot).
When I want to generate the Eclipse Help file, I use the script that they provide.
For a large documentation project, we used Latex in combination with plastex. This allowed us to generate PDF, Eclipse Help and HTML from the same sources. Cross Referencing, which seems like an issue for some readers, is handled, as well as indexing and other cool stuff. Getting it to work was a bit tedious, but it was a good solution, as the documentation contained a lot of formulas.
This was an open source project, so everything is available - feel free to use and adapt as you see fit:
Result (HTML, PDF, Eclipse Help: http://handbook.event-b.org/
Code: https://sourceforge.net/p/rodin-b-sharp/svn/HEAD/tree/trunk/Handbook/
I don't think it exists in eclipse, but try the MS one (free):
Here is the info: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms670169(VS.85).aspx
Here is the download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=00535334-c8a6-452f-9aa0-d597d16580cc
Then you can convert to eclipse format: http://home.amnet.net.au/~ghannington/hh2e/hh2e-readme.html
