I'm having trouble getting HTML::Template's <TMPL_IF> blocks to function -- it seems like my template is just skipping that code entirely.
<TMPL_LOOP NAME=DATA>
<TMPL_VAR NAME=complete><br>
<TMPL_IF NAME="complete">
<!-- Some HTML here -->
<TMPLE_ELSE>
<!-- Some other HTML here -->
</TMPL_IF>
</TMPL_LOOP>
The TMPL_VAR line is displaying the expected values, but nothing in the block below it is showing up whatsoever. The data structure I'm passing in to the template is:
$VAR1 = [
{
'code' => 26,
'message' => 'Start building sensors for Jarvis',
'complete' => 0
},
{
'code' => 33,
'message' => 'Machine learning to determine if actions are appropriate or not',
'complete' => 0
},
{
'code' => 37,
'message' => 'Play by genre audioserv method',
'complete' => 0
}
];
Any help is greatly appreciated -- I've been banging my head against it for the last hour.
From the fine manual:
The <TMPL_IF> tag allows you to include or not include a block of the template based on the value of a given parameter name. If the parameter is given a value that is true for Perl - like '1' - then the block is included in the output. If it is not defined, or given a false value - like '0' - then it is skipped.
All your completes are zero so <TMPL_IF> won't show anything. You might expect the "else" branch to be displayed but you don't have any <TMPL_ELSE> branches, you have <TMPLE_ELSE>. Fix the typo and try again.

We have an existing customization that appears to have broken when we upgraded from 1.7 to 1.9 community.
The customization adds a column to the associated products grid.
The customization is a local override of
app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Catalog/Product/Edit/Tab/Super/Group.php
This was done before I started on the project
$this->addColumn('breakdown_part_no', array(
'header' => Mage::helper('catalog')->__('Part No'),
'name' => 'breakdown_part_no',
'type' => 'varchar',
'index' => 'breakdown_part_no',
'width' => '120px',
'editable' => true,
));
This was added to _prepareColumns()
Another customization was added to method getSelectedGroupedProducts()
public function getSelectedGroupedProducts()
{
$associatedProducts = Mage::registry('current_product')->getTypeInstance(true)
->getAssociatedProducts(Mage::registry('current_product'));
$products = array();
foreach ($associatedProducts as $product) {
$products[$product->getId()] = array(
'qty' => $product->getQty(),
'position' => $product->getPosition(),
'breakdown_part_no' => $product->getBreakdownPartNo(),
);
}
return $products;
}
The behavior is that the column appears in the admin and can be edited, however when saved, it does not save any value.
If I modify the getSelectedGroupedProducts part and set a hard coded value, it displays still no value (blank field), but interestingly if I click save with no value, it saves the value that was hard coded. If I enter any value in the field, it saves as a blank. This is really strange behavior that makes no sense to me.
If I change one of the other fields, such as position to be a hard coded value, it appears instantly and works as expected. Please let me know the proper way for this to work.
There are several posts on various forums about how to do the above and the modification mentioned is true, but what all of the other posts left out was the adminhtml layout input. When a user edits product data in Magento Admin (Associated Products), the data is serialized and sent to the controller save action. I noticed that the fields were not present when a value was entered. This is because the value wasn't in the layout so it was being stripped off of the request before it was posted to the controller.
Add input field in adminhtml/default/default/layout/catalog.xml
adminhtml_catalog_product_supergroup
addColumnInputName
I'm looking for 2 specific variables.
Wishlist - The var_message variable has some styling to it that im trying to edit.
Abandoned Carts - pulls on this extension URL : connector/email/basket/code/secret/quote_id/*****
And im unable to find the location of the file that is accessed by that URL or command.
Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Also if someone could tell me how i might trace the locations of these things without "Just knowing" that would be grand too.
Kind Regards,
the correct variable name is message (not var_message)
variable message is populated in controller Mage_Wishlist_IndexController
inside method sendAction
here it is:
$emailModel = Mage::getModel('core/email_template');
$sharingCode = $wishlist->getSharingCode();
foreach ($emails as $email) {
$emailModel->sendTransactional(
Mage::getStoreConfig('wishlist/email/email_template'),
Mage::getStoreConfig('wishlist/email/email_identity'),
$email,
null,
array(
'customer' => $customer,
'salable' => $wishlist->isSalable() ? 'yes' : '',
'items' => $wishlistBlock,
'addAllLink' => Mage::getUrl('*/shared/allcart', array('code' => $sharingCode)),
'viewOnSiteLink' => Mage::getUrl('*/shared/index', array('code' => $sharingCode)),
'message' => $message
)
);
}
$wishlist->setShared(1);
$wishlist->save();
and the actual content of the message comes from a form input and gets fetched over here:
$message = nl2br(htmlspecialchars((string) $this->getRequest()->getPost('message')));
there is no actual styling or css assigned to it. In fact most of styles are defined inline in email templates
I am completely new to Drupal. I inherited a very ugly and incorrect code, unfortunately. In fact I would like to implement a proper login-with-facebook feature, which was totally mis-implemented. It tried to identify users by their email address, however, for some reason, upon login with Facebook, users logged in with the wrong user. I would like to identify the user based on Facebook ID, however, there was no column for that purpose in the database.
As a result, I have implemented a small script, which added a facebook_id and a facebook_token to the table representing the users. However, these new columns are not seen by the drupal_get_schema function in bootstrap.
If I do this:
$schema = drupal_get_schema("users");
echo var_dump($schema["fields"]);
It shows the fields except the two newly created fields. This way a SchemaCache object is initialized. I assumed that the schema might be cached. So I tried something different:
$schema = drupal_get_schema("users", true);
echo var_dump($schema["fields"]);
to make sure that drupal_get_complete_schema(true) will be called. However, the fields are not seen this way either. Is there a way I can tell Drupal to acknowledge the existence of the two newly created columns? If not: what should I do? Should I remove the two columns from the database table and use db_add_field("users", "facebook_id") and db_add_field("users", "facebook_token") respectively? If so, where should I call these?
Sorry if the question is too simple or I am misunderstanding these technologies, but I have tried to solve this for hours and I am at a loss, because this is my first drupal/bootstrap project and the source-code using these does not help me at all.
EDIT:
Since, at the time of this writing I have not received any answers apart from a tool recommendation which did not address my question, I have continued my research in the area. I removed the columns from the database to create them in a Drupal way. I have implemented this function in user.module:
function user_schema_alter() {
db_add_field('users', 'facebook_id', array(
'type' => 'varchar', //was initially a bigint, but Drupal generated a query which always crashed
'length' => 20,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => ".", //was initially -1, but Drupal generated a query which always crashed
));
db_add_field('users', 'facebook_token', array(
'type' => 'varchar',
'length' => 300,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => 'unavailable',
));
}
and I invoke it from altconnect.module, like this:
$schema = drupal_get_schema("users");
if (!isset($schema["fields"]["facebook_id"])) {
user_schema_alter();
}
It creates the columns, but later the existence of those columns will not be known about and subsequently an error will be thrown as the code will try to re-create them. Besides the fact that I had lost a lot of time until I realized that Drupal is unable to support bigint fields having -1 as their default value I had to conclude that with this solution I am exactly in the same situation as I were initially, with the difference that with this Drupal solution I will always get an exception if the columns already exist, because the schema will not be aware of them and subsequently, the code will always enter that if.
I fail to understand why is this so difficult in Drupal and I totally fail to understand why trying
db_add_field('users', 'facebook_id', array(
'type' => 'bigint',
'length' => 20,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => -1,
));
throws an exception due to syntax error. Maybe I should just leave this project and tell anyone who considers using Drupal to reconsider :)
I was able to find out what the answer is, at least for Drupal 6.
In user.install we need to do the following:
//...
function user_schema() {
//...
$schema['users'] = array(
//...
'fields' => array(
//...
'facebook_id' => array(
'type' => 'varchar',
'length' => 20,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => ".",
),
'facebook_token' => array(
'type' => 'varchar',
'length' => 300,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => 'unavailable',
),
//...
),
//...
}
//...
/**
* Adds two fields (the number is some kind of version number, should be the biggest so far for the module)
*/
function user_update_7919() {
db_add_field('users', 'facebook_id', array(
'type' => 'varchar',
'length' => 20,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => ".",
));
db_add_field('users', 'facebook_token', array(
'type' => 'varchar',
'length' => 300,
'not null' => TRUE,
'default' => 'unavailable',
));
}
When this is done, log in with the admin user and go to http://example.com/update.php
There you will see the thing to be updated. Run it. If you wonder why do we have to do all this, why don't we run some scripts directly, then the answer is that this is how Drupal operates. It simplifies your life by making it complicated, but do not worry, while you wait for update.php to do the updates which would take less than a second if it was your script, you can ponder about the meaning of life, quantum-mechanics or you can try to find out the reason this is so over-complicated in Drupal and you can go out for a walk. When you focus again, if you are lucky, update.php has completed its job and the two columns should be in the database.
I have a Year field in a form and I am using FormHelper.
echo $this->Form->input('year', [
'type' => 'year',
'minYear' => date('Y')-10,
'maxYear' => date('Y')
]);
The table file validator looks like:
->add('year', 'valid', ['rule' => 'numeric'])
->allowEmpty('year')
I have a very similar input in another app that seems to work fine. I set the MySql column to int(5) to match what I had working elsewhere.
Checking debugkit it shows the "year" input as an array while the other inputs are strings. If I remove the validation rule it throws an illegal array to string conversion, so I assume this is where the error is.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have just tested with your above code and it is working fine for me. Try to delete the cache and check it once more.
Creates a select element populated with the years from minYear to maxYear. Additionally, HTML attributes may be supplied in $options. If $options['empty'] is false, the select will not include an empty option:
empty - If true, the empty select option is shown. If a string, that
string is displayed as the empty element.
orderYear - Ordering of
year values in select options. Possible values ‘asc’, ‘desc’. Default
‘desc’ value The selected value of the input.
maxYear The max year to
appear in the select element.
minYear The min year to appear in the
select element.
Try this one:
<?php
echo $this->Form->year('exp_date', [
'minYear' => date('Y')-10,
'maxYear' => date('Y'),
'id' => 'cc-year',
'class' => 'form-control',
'empty' => false,
'orderYear' => 'asc'
]);
?>

I am working on an automated form submit script. It is logging in to a vendor's website and populating the fields of a form. When trying to submit, the desired result would be a ticket number displayed, which is acknowledging the form is submitted and the request is processed by their helpdesk.
However the form is not submitted correctly (no acknowledgement is displayed) and I suspect that it is caused by one of the inputs which is a SELECT.
Here is the code I use to set this field:
$forms[3]->value('ProductList','-2');
This has no effect on the the prepared form unfortunately, dumping $forms[3], i see this:
[...]
bless({
'onchange' => ' checkKC(document.all.ProductList, \'~0\'); prodExpand();',
'current' => 1,
'menu' => [
{
'seen' => 1,
'value' => '~0',
'name' => '<Please select>'
},
{
'seen' => 1,
'value' => '-2',
'name' => 'Product not found.... Search more'
},
{
'value' => '-1',
'name' => '------------------------------------'
},
{
'value' => 'Product1',
'name' => 'Product 1 Name'
}
],
'name' => 'ProductList',
'id' => 'ProductList',
'idx' => 1,
'type' => 'option'
}, 'HTML::Form::ListInput' ),
[...]
Am I using the right method of $forms[3]? (it was created by HTML::Form->parse($pageresult) btw) Or is there any other method I should try? I can't find any documentation for HTML::Form::ListInput
Thanks for any advice
Consider using WWW::Mechanize for form processing that takes more than one step. That way you can include the login process in your script along with going to the form and of course getting the result.
Or if you need to work with JavaScript, then use WWW::Mechanize::Firefox.
