I would like to create a quick tutorial for the app when it first time been opened.
Is there a way you can actually do this? Would you create a text file under the appIDfolder and update the value when first time it been open. so it will differentiated if it was first time used? or any better ideas or suggestion.
Thanks for any help
That's what I did - File.applicationStorageDirectory is your friend. Just write a small file there. You could store the version number, last access, etc. there so you'd have some options ("Welcome back, it's been a long time", "Here are the features in the new version", etc.).
It can as I do
1.) Create 2 Files 1 with a really short tut. and another with more stuff.
2.) Test if file exists tutorialShort.txt.
3.) Show this file as a quick tut.
4.) After viewing. ask Users, next time the App starts => they want to see this tutorial again.
5.) Answ:No => only delete or rename tutorialShort.txt

Good evening,
I am currently developing a way to import machine created data from a csv sheet into a database.
The question I have is, is there a way to react to a change in a csv file with Lua.
The file gets a line in this format:
17162H,"801234500001",9/23/2016 12:33:30 PM,"INV"
Every time a scanner is finishing a scan process, added under the old lines, but there is no direct connection to the database, to trigger the script.
It doesn't matter if the change is detected via different file size, foldersize (of the folder that contains the file) or a change within the file information (like date of last opening), but I can't open and read in it permanently due performance reasons.
Also this is the first time I ask here, so sorry for my clunky way, I'll try to improve myself with that over time.
Take a look at linotify, it has lua bindings for inotify and looks like it should do the trick, using the "modify" event to trigger your script.
I use LibUV based variant in my spylog apllication
Usage:
file_monitor(path_to_file, {eol = '\r?\n'}, function(line)
...
end)
If you need to run this on Windows, you can use winapi library, which supports file watchers. Here is an example of how it's used in one of my projects; you'll need to call winapi.sleep() to allow time for the check to trigger.
Did someone ever set up Zabbix to work with HP OpenView ?
Zabbix docs doesn't mention much information on that.
I know I have to create a media linked to a script.
In that script I have to use the opcmsg command but I don't understand the part which involves the database.
Can someone who ever experienced it drives me to the solution ?
Regards
You are missing media script doc. Parse input in your media script and process it with 'opcmsg'.
Try to find similar alert scripts (concept, not code) for your inspiration - https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/3.0/manual/config/notifications/media/script
And finally please publish your script with documentation (I recommend Github + Zabbix share).
Finally we have decided to create a media script which is writing output to a file.
Then that file will be monitored by a HP OpenView agent.
The steps are the following:
Create media script which is referencing your script :
In my case the script is named hpov.sh
The location of your script has to be referenced in your server config file (zabbix_server.conf) this way : AlertScriptsPath=/path/to/zabbix/scripts
Create an action which will be triggered on problems. Specify the macro you want in the first tab. The condition you want in the second one (leave as default). And finally set the third tab "Operations" like that:
You are free to change Users who are concerned
As the documentation says, link that media script to a user of your choice
That's it !
I currently have a app that manages projects. The user sees a list of projects and can select one. They can should (it would be nice) be able to click a run button and have another app open. The parameters stored in the project they selected are populated into the second application. The issue I am having is firing the second application. runApp generates the following.
ui code line:
actionButton("RunProj", "Run"),
Warning in run(timeoutMs) :
Unhandled error in observer: Key / already in use
observeEvent(input$RunProj)
I would like to trigger the second app and pass in the location of the project directory I have looked at parseQueryString and still trying to figure out a way to include that. Maybe via a redirect?
Any suggests would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Rich
I'm not 100% sure if I understand your intention correctly but here is a few things I think you may want to think about.
In one project, if you want to run a few kinds of analyses, you may want to try navbarPage
If there are many different types of analyses, you may want to try shinydashboard
If you know the link to each app and you really want to add those "run" buttons, you can add a button manually in ui.R. I think you can write some codes in server.r to generate the link based on your database.
tags$a(href="the link to your apps", class= "btn btn-default", "Run App")
I dont know if this is possible, but i have an SWF file which i want it to get info from an xml file only one time and then store it(keep it) there until a "newer" data will push into it
I know it sounds stupid but maybe there is a solution i don't know of...
1) i don't want to load the xml every time because of loads of traffic we have(a lot...will cost a lot to refresh everytime from amazon s3)
but how do we get a newer data without checking the external xml file?
2) if there was a way to broadcast(to "ping") to the swf that an update of the xml is ready to load....
if anything i believe there should be an AS3 script for that.
thanks!
but how do we get a newer data without checking the external xml file?
You could implement data file versioning. For example: urlToXmlData + "?version=" + myCurrentVesion As soon you ship new version of the application with extended data, it will work. It's global solution, so every new version of your product will work with latest data.
As for ping, you could create update strategy, for example: link is valid for 1 day. Idea is the same, concatenate stuff to the link, so browser will evaluate it as new: urlToXmlData + "?stamp=" + timestampForToday Tomorrow will be another timestamp, and browser will download updated version.
Use second xml which will contain the version first xml
I think you don't get the real subject.
You can't update a flash project without using any external update platform.
Because you cannot save all new XML data to a shared object because of "limitation of mb per data", so, flash going to delete all loaded data when application closed.
You cannot make a "permament update" in flash for "big files"...
BUT
You can update your main swf file with "EMBEDDED XML" files. Only that keeps your data updated when application is closed.
BUT that's not enough alone, also you need a "PRE-CHECK for Version of SWF" file, and that's what you can't do alone. You need a web platform featuring that way.
Mochi's "Live Updates" was offering that, but i couldn't make it work. But mochi is shutdown now... So forget about it...
I understand that your XML is BIG and you want to save trafic.
But how about small calls ?
You can have a call just to get the MD5 of your xml which is stored on the server.
Something like: myserver.com/getMD5
Once the server will return you a different md5 than the one you have already stored, then you reload xml and save new MD5.
If a person has some important text on a widget and accidentally he removes/deletes the widget by expanding it and clicking delete in wp-admin widget's area. Then do this mean that the widget has been lost forever?
Do widget resides somewhere in any of the mysql database's table? Are there any revisions of widgets available?
Another way to get the text is to search the web caching engines like Google Cache, Wayback Machine etc. But what if we are unlucky enough that we have not allowed web crawler in robots.txt file?
Update (August 21, 2013) :-
Besides you give a general answer. Also state whether I can recover a simple 'text/html widget' that comes along with WordPress? Thanks.
It depends on the widget:
the widget developer decides where and how to store the widget data and if that data has revisions or not.
At this point you have the fallowing options:
1) access your database and have a look in the "_options" table for for the option_name %LIKE% widget -> it will show you all the data you have saved related to that widget, if you don't find what you are looking for:
2) check the php code of the widget to see if you can find where it saves the data and if it has revisions.
Your best luck is to have the data in the "_options" table and if you have backup of the table you can extract the data from there.
