Im trying to install ProcessMaker using my WAMP server (Local Machine)
I went through all the steps sucessfully.
But when installing it it fails with a error message saying "Database is not empty" for wf_workflow database and rb_workflow databases
In the installation test page those two fields are with red sign.
Plz help me with this as i am new to this software.
That error usually raises when you are trying to install ProcessMaker in a server that has another instance of it. You have two options and for both on that installation screen you must activate "advanced" settings that will allow you to overwrite existing installation or rename workspace and database names.

On macOS MySQL doesn't use a configuration file by default. It runs with default values. So, for the connection setup part you can just ignore the error and skip over that page.
You can later create a config file in the admin section of your connection and once that has been stored update the management section in the connections editor with the correct path.
This is my first MySql install from the ground up.
I am using Windows Server 2016, trying to install MySql 8.0.15. I am doing this to try and use it with php 7.3.1.
The install has all the listed prerequisites.
When I get the config section of mysql insstaller, it breaks on the first response with an error of "Beginning configuration step: Writing configuration file
Invalid server template
Ended configuration step: Writing configuration file"
The system event log has one error, "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{8D8F4F83-3594-4F07-8369-FC3C3CAE4919}
and APPID
{F72671A9-012C-4725-9D2F-2A4D32D65169}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool."
But I'm not sure this is even the right troubleshooting path to start down.
Can you assist with some guidance?
I had the same problem with the
mysql-installer-web-community.
The mysql-installer-community was working without a problem.
The bottom link is the none web installer which was working.
For me initially when I was not accepting the initial update mysql pop-up then installer was not working, but once I accepted it. Then it successfully worked for me.
I have been able to install after getting the same error.
I have changed the credentials for the sql root.
By default, host is set to something like %ALL_HOST%. I changed to localhost.
I ended up uninstalling all mysql 8 components that had already installed.
Then went back and got the mysql installer 5.7.25.0. I think I had some trouble after that, but it wasn't the same error. I finally ended up installing mysql 8.0.15 by itself and it worked. Then I went back and did the connectors. Next the workbench. Finally docs and samples. Doing them one at a time seemed to go better. I am now up and running.
Here's what I did to fix the issue
completely removed mySQL Server and Workbench installations.
uninstalled the mySQL web installer. Restarted my computer.
ran the mySQL web installer again (only installing mySQL Server)
downloaded the mySQL Workbench installer to install Workbench separately
I need your help on the following issue. I'm installing a software (which uses mysql) and it fetches me the following error during installation:
I install the software, during install it says to name the project, I input 'drilling' as name, the process goes on and after a whilee I get:
"Create project failed: Setup was unable to create the trusted drilling account for localhost\drilling" (Note: 'drilling' is the project name)
When I press OK, the installation goes on and finishes. After running the app it says:
"Setup the DB connecton first".
I go to options and there are 2 options: Local DB and Network Server. When I choose Local DB it says Can't find any suitable DB in your local machine! When I choose Network Server it allows me to choose the project DRILLING and when I press Test Connection it says "Test connection not successful".
Can you help me with this problem?

My MySQL Workbench is not connecting to my local host, and I cannot figure out why exactly it is reacting like this. It just started doing this one day, and randomly it will give me access although it says it is still "unknown", but I am tired of this and would like to fix it.
Since this website reqires that I have a "10" reputation to post images, I will have to describe it.
On the Startup/Shutdown tab in the administration page, it says:
The database server instance is unknown. --The "Start Server" button is faded out so that I cannot click it.

There is no connection to the MySQL server. This functionality requires an established connection to a running MySQL server to work.

I had this problem on my Windows 8.1 machine and it turned out to be problems with the file permissions.
To repair it I went into the folder at "C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6" and right clicked on the "data" folder and selected properties. Clicked the security tab and clicked edit. From there click the ADD button then the ADVANCED button and finally the FIND NOW button. In mine I added users, administrators, and "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES". I granted full control to the users that were already listed for the data folder and the users, administrators, and ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES.
After the permissions were repaired I opened a command prompt as administrator and changed to the "C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6\bin" directory cd "C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6\bin". From there you can execute mysqld --install which installs the MySQL service.

[edit] Please note that if you are using a different version of MySQL than the path to the MySQL data directory and bin directory may be different on your windows machine.
The error message says it: the service with the name MySQL cannot be found. So probably your MySQL service has a different name? Do you have a service at all? Starting mysql manually from the bin folder is just that: manual. There is no service involved, hence WB cannot manipulate the run state.
When you install MySQL with the MySQL installer you have everything in place within a couple minutes and it works right from the start.
So first check if you have a service running for your MySQL server and stop starting it manually. If there's a service take its name and enter it in the Windows Service Name field of the configuration manager:
Note that MySQL Workbench can manage your server only if it is installed as a Windows service.
I had this problem on my Windows 8.1, and I solved it updating my workbench to Version6 with "mysql-installer-web-community-5.6.16.0.msi" from the official page of mysql
I have found reinstalling all MySQL products a better alternative, because some of the solutions on the internet will make another instance of your mysql server along with mysql56, which might mess things up for a beginner.
Remember to keep database files and configuration undeleted during the reinstallation.
I had problem on MAC.
Please ensure you have installed mysql and its running. Because installing only workbench app, will not install mysql service. First install mysql and run the service.
In my case, I tried with brew
brew install mysql // installing mysql
brew services restart mysql // restart service after installing
mysql --version // check version
I apologise.. I know this question has been asked many times before, but I've tried lots of suggestions, and simply can't find a solution.
The problem: I have a MySQL database running on a hosted server.
I have to use SSH to connect to it, and I have the relevant Public and Private Key files.
I specifically want to use the PC version of MySQL Workbench, to access this database, for running queries, checking data, etc.
If I run Sequel Pro on a Mac, it connects fine, and I can browse and query the database. No problems.
If I run the trial version of SQLyog on a PC, it also connects fine. No problems.
But if I try to connect use MySQL's own "MySQL Workbench" application, using exactly the same settings and SSH Private Key file, it refuses to connect, throwing the well-known error:
Can't connect to MySQL server on 127.0.0.1' (10061)
I find it frustrating, as, in SQL Workbench, I specified the "MySQL Hostname" to use, db01.mysql.vm.MyHostingServer.net, but Workbench seems to ignore it, and demand to connect to 127.0.0.1 instead.
(I have read that Workbench says it needs the Public key file, but actually means the Private key file... and I have tried with both. I've also tried with MySQL Workbench on a Mac, but that crashed all over the place, simply when I was typing in server names and passwords.. it was a mess !!)
The hosting service I've gone with gives me limited permissions for changing MySQL settings, and given that Sequel Pro and SQLyog can connect successfully, I don't want to start messing about and changing things randomly.
Any ideas...?
Maybe you are not allowed to start the service "MySQL 55". Set the login information of Service "MySQL 55" as local!
To see the list of aviable services in Windows 7:
Open a run box
Type services.msc and press return.
Find the service MySQL55
A right click of the MySQL55 Local Service shows Properties -> Log On
Even I had same problem, The reason was mysql service was not getting configured properly, when I installed it through 'MySQL installer'. Also it was not starting, when I tried to start the service manually.
So in my case it seemed be a Bug with the 'MySQL Installer', as editing the install path to a different one when the 'Developer default' was selected, the problem occurs.
Solution (Not exactly a solution):
Uninstalled the MySQL all products (completely)
Reinstalled, this time also I have selected 'Developer default', but didn't make any changes to the path or any thing. So the path was just 'C:\Program Files\MySQL' (the default one)
And just clicked Next Next...
Done, this time MySql was running fine.
After making above improvement such as checking if mysql service is running or not, you just need to give a small password while creating connection, it is ' ' or 1 time press on space-bar in case of GUI or workbench. After which you just need to validate your machine with server (validated HOST). For that purpose click on 'New Server Instance' and it will configure server/HOST on your behalf itself.
I have done this successfully just a few couple of minutes ago. My workbench software is able to show all pre-installed databases etc now.

I was having same issue, way i have resolved is:
opened the MySQL installer. i was having a Reconfigure link on MYSQL Server row.
Clicked on it, it does reinstalled MySQL Server.
after that opened MySQL Workbench, and it was working fine.
Try placing the host name (db01.mysql.vm.MyHostingServer.net) in your windows host (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host) file along with it's IP address and port number and see if that helps.
If you have installed WAMP on your machine, please make sure that it is running. Do not EXIT the WAMP from tray menu since it will stop the MySQL Server.
To connect to a new server, you click on home + add new connection. Put IP or webserver URL in new connection.
Just try to run the following command manually:
C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.6.17\bin\mysqld.exe --console
It worked for me :)
Ran into the exact same problem as OP and found that leaving the "MySQL Server Port" empty in the MySQL Workbench connection solves the issue.
I have tried all the method.
I will suggest you to reinstall it.
