Map is not working in Samsung Galaxy tablet in emulator - google-maps

My application is developed with maps and some other listviews.
When i removed
<uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" />
from manifest file the app is working fine, but when i add this in manifest, i am getting
Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY
error, how to resolve this to work the app in galaxy tablet emulator

You should use an Android Build with Google APIs. Right click your project > Properties > Android, select an item that has "Google APIs" in the target name. Be sure to select the version you need.
Google Maps require the Android Library that contains Google APIs. So if your using Android SDK 2.3... then you should choose "Google APIs 2.3".
If you can't find one then you should download it using your Android SDK Manager.
Select whichever version you need:

you should check your AVD is its simple or Google API
because Google MAP works only in Google API.

React Native Maps - new pricing

Since Google switched their pricing model, and Mobile Native Maps are still unlimited while Javascript SDK maps are limited to 28,000 per month as you can see
here.
Does anyone know which category react-native-maps falls under? Thanks
You can find answer in the documentation of react native maps
The actual map implementation depends on the platform. On Android, one has to use Google Maps, which in turn requires you to obtain an API key for the Android SDK.
On iOS, one can choose between Google Maps or the native Apple Maps implementation.
When using Google Maps on iOS, you need to also register for the iOS SDK and include the Google Maps library in your build.
source: https://github.com/react-community/react-native-maps/blob/master/docs/installation.md
As you can see in case of Android it uses Google Maps Android SDK, in case of iOS it can use Google Maps iOS SDK. The Google Maps JavaScript API is not used in react native maps. That means at the moment the usage is unlimited and free of charge as per Google Maps Platform price sheet.
I hope it clarifies your doubt.

Google Maps for Cordova

I am planning to integrate google map feature for my Hybrid Mobile Application.
This is targeted for Android,iOS and Windows.
https://github.com/mapsplugin/cordova-plugin-googlemaps
Above cordova plugin only works for iOS and Android, what about windows phone ? Do I need to use deparate Javascript Web API's of google maps to integrate with Windows phone ?
Since I didn't build this yet before, what can I provide you is some tutorials and different threads.
Like the answer in this thread, what you want to achieve is technically possible, but it is not legal. So basically you need a 3rd party app for these to work.
You can use Bing Map Control to use Google Maps in Windows. This tutorial explains everything with sample code and screenshot for you to follow.

Windows Phone 8.1 HERE map API

I am trying to develop an app that access HERE map through its API to get the direction route using transit (not drive or walking) on WP8.1. When I go to HERE developer website, I didn't see the mobile SDK for windows phone. Is HERE maps API still support for WP8.1? Why can't I see HERE maps and its other apps (HERE drive+, HERE transit) in windows phone app store now? Has anyone tried HERE API in WP8.1 before?
The reason I want to use HERE maps API because the native WP8.1 map API does not return route in transit mode.
Thanks.
It was available 4-5 years ago but not anymore.

App crash on ios 5 after including google map sdk 1.7

I have included google map sdk 1.7 in my project that runs on ios5.1 too. After integrating google sdk app is crashing on ios5.1. I know that google map sdk version >=1.5 supports ios6 and above.
Is there a way to conditionally include the google map sdk. i.e. the sdk will only load if app is running ios6 or above. else I would like to take the user to the browser.
I am getting the following error on ios5
yld: Symbol not found: _OBJC_CLASS_$_UIActivityViewController
Referenced from: /Users/mac/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/5.1/Applications/EC6760CC-D272-4949-A5BA-6AFB8B0C1A8F/HM.app/HM
Expected in: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDK s/iPhoneSimulator5.1.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/UIKit
You can change xcode project settings.
Read More:
You can set the google framework in project settings as optional.
Then check for ios5 while #import or #include the google sdk.
Don't import for ios 5 It will only for iOS6 and greater.

Can a Google Maps Android application run on an emulator?

I am using Xamarin and have tried many Google Map examples. The map is not displaying on any of the emulators.
My question is this: Can a Google Map be displayed on an emulator, or can it only be displayed on a real device?
You cannot use Google Maps in an emulator because it works only in a real device, you have the option to debug directly in a mobile or tablet to show it, or paste your apk and install it later in order to test it.
I guess this is your answer.
Bye
When it comes to Maps v2, you are better off using a device than the emulator.
That said, you can use the emulator. Google Maps is only supported on emulators that are running an AVD that is running the most recent Google API. See comment 29 in bug 57880.
