Let's say I have a table 'shares' with the following columns:
company price quantity
Microsoft 100 10
Google 99 5
Google 99 20
Google 101 15
I'd like to run the equivalent of a SQL statement like this:
select price,
sum(quantity) as num
from shares
where company='Google'
group by price;
The closest I've come is:
result = (dbsession.query(Shares.price, func.sum(Shares.quantity))
.filter(Shares.company == 'Google')
.group_by(Shares.price)
.all())
I'm having trouble with setting up the 'sum(quantity) as num' in sqlalchemy. It appears I need to use alias() but I can't figure out how by looking at the documentation.
You actually want the label method.
result = dbsession.query(
Shares.price,
func.sum(Shares.quantity).label("Total sold")
) \
.filter(Shares.company== 'Google') \
.group_by(Shares.price).all()

I am attempting to plot data cumulatively from a MySQL table which logs a value, resetting to 0 every day. After selecting the values using select * from table where DateTime BETWEEN DateA AND DateB, the data looks like this: current data. I would like the output to look like this: preferred data, ignoring the daily resets.
As I am a novice in SQL I was unable to find a solution to this. I did, however, obtain the correct output in Matlab using a for loop:
output = data;
for k=1:(size(data, 1)-1)
% check if next value is smaller than current
if data(k+1)<data(k)
% add current value to all subsequent values
output = output + (1:size(data, 1)>k)'.*input(k);
end
end
I would like the final product to connect to a web page, so I am curious if it would be possible obtain a similar result using only SQL. While I have tried using SUM(), I have only been able to sum all values, but I need to add the last value each day to all subsequent values.
Using CTE and comparing dates, you can sum all values each date.
Let's say that table1 below is defined.
create table table1 (col_date date, col_value int);
insert into table1 values
('2020-07-15',1000),
('2020-07-15',2000),
('2020-07-16',1000),
('2020-07-16',3000),
('2020-07-16',4000),
('2020-07-17',1000),
('2020-07-18',2000),
('2020-07-19',1000),
('2020-07-19',1000),
('2020-07-19',2000),
('2020-07-19',3000),
('2020-07-20',4000),
('2020-07-20',5000),
('2020-07-21',6000)
;
In this case, the query looks like this:
with cte1 as (
select col_date, sum(col_value) as col_sum from table1
where col_date between '2020-07-16' and '2020-07-20'
group by col_date
)
select a.col_date, max(a.col_sum), sum(b.col_sum)
from cte1 a inner join cte1 b on a.col_date >= b.col_date
group by a.col_date;
The output is below:
col_date |max(a.col_sum) |sum(b.col_sum)
2020-07-16 |8000 | 8000
2020-07-17 |1000 | 9000
2020-07-18 |2000 |11000
2020-07-19 |7000 |18000
2020-07-20 |9000 |27000
The column of max() is just for reference.
I am trying to write a quarry in a module for Dolibarr ERP. But module hase a part of code that is predefined and can not be changed. And I need to insert a SUM() function in it that will combine rows with similar id. That i know how to do in a regular MySQL:
SELECT fk_product AS prod, SUM(value) AS qty
FROM llx_stock_mouvement
WHERE type_mouvement = 2 AND label LIKE 'SH%'
GROUP BY fk_product
ORDER BY 1 DESC
LIMIT 26
that gives me what I want :
prod qty
1 13
2 10
BUT module has a predefined unchangeable code :
this part is predefined module writes it himself based on values provider in it:
SELECT DISTINCT
c.fk_product AS com,
c.value AS qty
THIS PART I CAN WRITE IN A MODULES GUI:
FROM
llx_stock_mouvement AS c
WHERE
type_mouvement = 2
AND label LIKE 'SH%'
And this part is predefined:
ORDER BY 1 DESC
LIMIT 26
I would appreciate any help and advice on question is there any workaround that can be done to make my desired and result ampere ? As it would using the first code I posted ?
If you can only modify the bit in the middle box then you might need to use a subquery;
--fixed part
SELECT DISTINCT
c.fk_product AS com,
c.value AS qty
--begin your editable part
FROM
(
SELECT fk_product,
SUM(value) AS value
FROM llx_stock_mouvement
WHERE type_mouvement = 2 AND label LIKE 'SH%'
GROUP BY fk_product
) c
--end your editable part
--fixed part
ORDER BY 1
DESC
LIMIT 26
SELECT product.productID
, product.Name
, product.date
, product.status
FROM product
INNER JOIN shelf ON product.sheldID=shelf.shelfID
WHERE product.weekID = $ID
AND product.date < '$day'
OR (product.date = '$day' AND shelf.expire <= '$time' )
ORDER BY concat(product.date,shelf.expire)
I am trying to stop the SQL statement at a specific value e.g. bad.
I have tried using max-date, but am finding it hard as am making the time stamp in the query. (Combining date/time)
This example table shows that 3 results should be returned and if the status "bad" was the first result than no results should be returned. (They are ordered by date and time).
ProductID Date status
1 2017-03-27 Good
2 2017-03-27 Good
3 2017-03-26 Good
4 2017-03-25 Bad
5 2017-03-25 Good
Think I may have fixed it, I added this to my while loop.
The query gives the results in order by present to past using date and time, this while loop checks if the column of that row is equal to 'bad' if it is does something (might be able to use an array to fill it up with data). If not than the loop is broken.
I know it doesn't seem ideal but it works lol
while ($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result)) {
if ($row['status'] == "bad") {
$counter += 1;
}
else{
break;}
I will provide an answer just with your output as if it was just one table. It will give you the main ideia in how to solve your problem.
Basically I created a column called ord that will work as a row_number (MySql doesn't support it yet AFAIK). Then I got the minimum ord value for a bad status then I get everything from the data where ord is less than that.
select y.*
from (select ProductID, dt, status, #rw:=#rw+1 ord
from product, (select #rw:=0) a
order by dt desc) y
where y.ord < (select min(ord) ord
from (select ProductID, status, #rin:=#rin+1 ord
from product, (select #rin:=0) a
order by dt desc) x
where status = 'Bad');
Result will be:
ProductID dt status ord
-------------------------------------
1 2017-03-27 Good 1
2 2017-03-27 Good 2
3 2017-03-26 Good 3
Also tested with the use case where the Bad status is the first result, no results will be returned.
See it working here: http://sqlfiddle.com/#!9/28dda/1
I have a database that lists a few area codes, area code + office codes and some whole numbers and a action. I want it to return a result by the digits given but I am not sure how to accomplish it. I have some MySQL knowledge but its not very deep.
Here is a example:
match | action
_____________________
234 | goto 1
333743 | goto 2
8005551212| goto 3
234843 | goto 4
I need to query the database with a full 10 digit number -
query 8005551212 gives "goto 3"
query 2345551212 gives "goto 1"
query 3337431212 gives "goto 2"
query 2348431212 gives "goto 4"
This would be similar to the LIKE selection, but I need to match against the database value instead of the query value. Matching the full number is easy,
SELECT * FROM database WHERE `match` = 8005551212;
First the number to query will always be 10 digits, so I am not sure how to format the SELECT statement to differentiate the match of 234XXXXXXX and 234843XXXX, as I can only have one match return. Basically if it does not match the 10 digits, then it checks 6 digits, then it will check the 3 digits.
I hope this makes sense, I do not have any other way to format the number and it has to be accomplished with just a single SQL query and return over a ODCB connection in Asterisk.
Try this
SELECT match, action FROM mytable WHERE '8005551212' like concat(match,'%')
The issue is that you will get two rows in one case .. given your data..
SELECT action
FROM mytable
WHERE '8005551212' like concat(match,'%')
order by length(match) desc limit 1
That should get the row that had the most digits matched..
try this:
SELECT * FROM (
SELECT 3 AS score,r.* FROM mytable r WHERE match LIKE CONCAT(SUBSTRING('1234567890',1,3),'%')
UNION ALL
SELECT 6 AS score,r.* FROM mytable r WHERE match LIKE CONCAT(SUBSTRING('1234567890',1,6),'%')
UNION ALL
SELECT 10 AS score,r.* FROM mytable r WHERE match LIKE CONCAT(SUBSTRING('1234567890',1,10),'%')
) AS tmp
ORDER BY score DESC
LIMIT 1;
What ended up working -
SELECT `function`,`destination`
FROM reroute
WHERE `group` = '${ARG2}'
AND `name` = 0
AND '${ARG1}' LIKE concat(`match`,'%')
ORDER BY length(`match`) DESC LIMIT 1
I have a very large csv log file with the following header:
CustomerID , Date , URL , ....
I want to find all those customers who had visited at least 2 distinct URLS exactly in 2 days within the last 3 days.
What would be the SQL command ,
I though of this one : (how the date part looks : GETDATE()-4 is not important at the moment)
SELECT CustomerID FROM log
WHERE DATE > (GETDATE() - 4)
GROUP BY (CustomerID, DATE, URL)
HAVING COUNT(DISTINCT(DATE)) = 2
AND HAVING (COUNT(DISTINCT(URL))) > 2
Just miss out the having keyword so like
Having condition1 > val1 and condition2 >val 2
Sorry I'm on a phone so can't copy and paste that well
