Print Preview with Flex application? - actionscript-3

Is there a way to add a visualise and manipulate the way the things goin to be printed from flex application before the printing them ?

I have built a full functional PDF and Print Preview for Flex DataGrid and AdvancedDataGrid. It has also got some helpful tools that you can use before printing.
check it out http://blog.kreatx.com/2011/11/11/flex-printing-print-preview-pdf-generation/

Ya it can be done, It also depends on the type of document to be printed. If your application is document based then u can refer the following Print Preview.
Though it look like the pdf preview.
If your application is image shape added on stage then no other way.
you need to create the popup and add the followings, since you cannot clone that kind objects.

Is it possible to use Auto Layout on some View Controllers and Autoresize on others? (Swift 4)

I am trying to use Autoresize on some of my View Controllers Auto Layout on others. Everything looks fine on all device sizes when I use the "View As:" tool in Storyboards. There are no overlaps and everything fits nicely. However, I have Auto Layout Warnings:
Why am I getting these warnings if nothing is clipping or overlapping? And how do I get rid of them?
Well I think you don't need to do any special steps, just try adding auto-layout margins using (control + actions told) storyboard and xCode will automatically handles them separately.
Other controllers that you have made ready using Auto-resizing would not be effected by this.
And new controller you made ready with auto-layout would work fine as well.
Hope this would work out for you.
For reference adding 2 screenshots (both are from same xCode project) for you to be clear of that what I am trying to say...
if you don't want to use auto layout just disable it.
select ViewController in storybored,go to file inspecter -> locate the Interface Builder Document section.uncheck use Autolayout.

How to create popup windows in html

I want to know how the pop up windows integrated into websites are built. I am trying to create one for my websites but i don't really know it is created whether they are plugins or not. Any help as to how to go about it.
Below is an example of what i want to do.
You can use hotjar.com to put a feedback box in your page, there is a lot of services that provides this feature, but hotjar gets the job done
Beginner! To make a pop-up like the one you provided, you would need to write backend code (Node.JS, PHP, Python, etc.). But for just a simple info pop-up with a button that activates the pop-up refer to this jsfiddle I created:
https://jsfiddle.net/d706dyg7/1/
$("#whateverid").click(function(){
//whatever code
});
That mean when that element is clicked blah happens.
Hope that helps,
Ben A.K.A BlackSky
P.S. If you want a solution in pure javascript and not jQuery just let me know and I will edit my fiddle!
I know I'm like .. 10 years late. But for anyone still wondering I thought I could be of some help!
If you want to do this using ONLY html and css (using a framework in visual studio like ASP.NET) for example.. here's what I did:
First, I made sure I had multiple "divs" in my code. For me specifically, I had two main ones. The first one whose id="main", and another whose id="popup" with the 'visible' property initially set to 'false' for the popup div.
Then, on whichever event you're looking for (button click for example) you'll simply set main.Visible = false and popup.Visible = true, then you could have more buttons in your popup (yes, no, cancel, confirm, etc.) which do the exact same thing, but in reverse!
The most important thing to make sure of is that you have the 'runat="server"' property in your divs so that you can access them in your CS code
Hope this was helpful! :)
Your looking for something called a modal. Depending how you wrote your HTML there are different ways of approaching this issue.
If your wrote your website in Plain HTML you can use the following tutorial to create one
www.webdesignerdepot.com/2012/10/creating-a-modal-window-with-html5-and-css3/amp/
However if you wrote your website with a library such as Bootstrap they have built in pre made modules that you can attach to your cpde. These can Ben found in the library's documentation.

Coded UI - Unable to identify a html controls on a Wpfbrowser

I am new to CodedUI & C#.
I am trying to automate a wpf application which has a WPF Browser.
So basically, It's WPF container with html content inside. I have created a similar sample small application and shared it here. This application opens the amazon.in website within wpfwindow.
WPF Browser application
My problem is Coded UI is not able to identify the Html-Controls/elements like 'Buttons', 'Text input fields' properly.
Below, the top image is from the WPF Browser app [Link which i have shared].
Here you can see a blue square box on the top-left. The coded UI identifies that area has the Search Go button.
Bottom part of the image is of the amazon website in IE browser where coded ui is properly highliting/ identifying the Search Go button.
Does this mean i cannot automate WPFBrowser apps using Coded UI.?
Can someone please tell what to do to identify the buttons properly in coded ui
You need to specify Id attributes for the controls that you want exposed to Coded UI.
To me this looks like CodedUI is getting some control that's similar, rather than the correct one.
You haven't mentioned if you're recording and executing tests or handwriting them in a separate CodedUI solution.
If you're recording them: Be sure that you're recording using your WPF application and interactions inside of them, rather than recording using your browser and then trying to execute tests using the WPF application
If you're writing them by hand: Be sure that you're correctly creating trees of inheritance when writing your tests. For instance, in a traditional CodedUI scenario the absolute top level object that all other controls inherit from is a web browser. In your scenario, that object should be the WPF object. There are probably going to be some other windows or various controls that are children of the WPF application which in turn will finally have the browser as a child.

error dialog with scrollable area to display big multiline message?

I need to display error dialog (with standart red cross image) with message and Ok button.
Message is pretty big (like stack-trace) so I need to display it in scrollable area.
Should I write such dialog from scratch or swing contains something that I can reuse?
upd: found unswer myself http://www.javalobby.org/java/forums/t19012.html
The easiest way is to use TaskDialog framework. You can create all kinds of dialogs including the following:
The exception dialog can be called via
TaskDialogs.showException(e);
See Task Dialog for more details
You can use this component
The source code is all there, you just need to copy and paste code. No need to install a framework.

create a page which contain a flash can be add text dynamiclly

I have to create a web page which can be set to full screen(I mean the real full screen, not like press the F11),in the full screen there should be some words displaying.
Take the http://stackoverflow.com for example:
Normally,it show its contents(the questions),but someday, maybe a VIP come to visit the page,so we want to replace the whole page with a welcome screen.
Of course we can replace the https://stackoverflow.com/index.html (suppose it is the index page) with the welcome text(welcome xxx to our site...) in the server side.
However this is not convenient, and the text can not be full screened.
So I thought the flash,I can add a controller button at the page, when required,I click this button, and set the welcome words, then a flash will start to play with the sepcified words in a full screen model. It would be better if the flash can show the text with a Animation.
I have never did the flash development,so I want to know if this is possible?
BTW,can all the clients change to flash with juse one click?
I mean I click the controller button, then all the client who is visit this page should see the contents replaced by the flash at the same time.
I am not sure if you guys know what I am meaning. If not,I can update more details.
I am really Anxious, Thanks. :)
Since you're starting from scratch with Flash, I made a quick example of what I think you want to do. http://clearmpls.com/temp/fullscreen/ - the source files that I made this example with can be grabbed from here: http://clearmpls.com/temp/xml-loading-fullscreen-thing.zip
I used the Flash IDE to create this. You can grab a 60-day trial from Adobe's site here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=flash
This example shows examples of these functions:
- it loads an XML file with text data
- displays that data in a textfield on the stage
- gives you a button where you can toggle back and forth between fullscreen and regular
- resizes the stage and textfield based on what you have written in your XML file
