I am developing the metro style application using Win RT.
I Need to List the Properties of Web Cam Like Frame rate ,Size and format it supports .
A web Cam Can Support multiple Frame rate ,Size and format, I wanted to list all of it.
I am exploring Windows Runtime Reference but couldn't figure out the Api which will give those information.
Any Help will be appreciated!

Windows.Media.Devices.VideoDeviceController has a GetAvailableMediaStreamProperties method which returns supported formats. The rest isn't built into WinRT yet, but it you can bet will. It's just not there yet.

Difference between HTML5 API and Phonegap API

I'm working with hybrid mobile application, where I wanted to save the contact to the device contact list.
I followed the Phonegap Api documentation. I was suprised to see Phonegap and HTML5 both uses the navigator object,
As per my understanding, both the api uses the same navigator object. So, how Phonegap Api is different from the HTML5 Api?
It is hard to say exactly how they are different b/c it depends on which part of the API you're talking about and for which platform/browser. The point of Phonegap is to use the HTML5 api in a way that you can build a single web app and then compile it to a native ios, android, ... app. Mostly, the use of the phonegap api allows you to interact with the phone's api at a lower level than the HTML 5 api will allow. Like getting access to the contacts or the device's sensors. However, as browser support for HTML 5 evolves there is less and less functional ability you gain using phonegap.

trying to load page with WinJS controls into IE 10.0

From VS2012, I right click on default.html page and choose to run this page in IE (10.0). Problem is that any WinJS controls that I have on the page aren't been displayed. I get a warning about Allowing ActiveX script where I allow to run the ActiveX script. Can windows 8 store app build with javascript should be able to run in IE 10.0?
WinJS is not meant to be a browser based application.
Windows Store apps are meant solely to be run in the WinRT environment.
If you explore WinJS, you'll see it calls into the Windows namespace which are the actual WinRT JavaScript projections - ie the translations from the C++ COM based API into in this case JavaScript.
So then the next question is what are you trying to accomplish? If you have a common code base to run in the browser, then don't have dependencies on WinJS or the built in style sheets.
Remember though,Windows Store apps have specific design recommendations that may not be the best for a browser based application, although thats your call.
If you post separately what you are trying to accomplish though to run in the browser and in your Windows Store app, we can try to help you make the best design decision.

Unfortunately you can't, firstly due to licence of winjs (details here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winappswithhtml5/thread/dbdabf29-206d-4d93-a491-b5e8fcd6a920/) and secondly because winjs is rather tightly coupled with winrt.
One alternative I found is http://www.bluesky.io/ which allows you to run winjs compatible code in browser. Not sure how it works in practice though.

Windows phone 7 and HTML5

I'm completely new to Windows Phone and the Windows galaxy in general as far as programming goes. For a project of a phone app that has to run on a windows phone, I started exploring the resources and I have some questions.
One of the problems I encountered is that things change very quickly. For example, answers to this question say that browsers in Windows Phone will most likely not support HTML5. However, there are many online tutorials (for instance here) introducing ASP.NET MVC 4 and how it is appropriate for mobile apps.
I would personally like to go the "HTML5+javascript" way instead of learning how to develop with Silverlight, which apparently has been discontinued by Microsoft. However, my first concern is evidently to be able to create an application that works!
So with that in mind, my questions are the following:
My impression is that HTML5+JS is being introduced in replacement of Silverlight and will be more used in the future. Is that correct?
Knowing that I have to build an app which should be able to play videos and audio, record audio, and connect to a library to do some speech processing in the background, should I use Silverlight or can I try using ASP.NET MVC 4? (From what I gather, Silverlight would be better than XNA)
Are there limitations to using HTML5+JS as compared to Silverlight or the other way around?
Can you package a web app (i.e. using HTML5+JS) to be used locally on the phone if there is no access to a distant server?
Any specific pointers or answers on these specific issues will be more than welcome! :)
Currently, Windows Phone 7.1 does not support full HTML5+JS as a replacement for Silverlight. In Windows 8 (NOT the next version of windows phone, but the next version of Microsoft's desktop OS), HTML5+JS is presented as an alternative to using XAML and C# (it's a little confusing because on Windows 8, "metro" apps do not run Silverlight, but they still operate using XAML and C#). But that's neither here nor there... To summarily answer your question(s): In the phone's browser, there is very limited HTML5 capability.
From what you've described, you definitely want to use Silverlight for your Windows Phone app. The answer to that part of your question has never changed, Silverlight from the beginning of WP7 would be your best option. XNA is exclusively designed for gaming development.

This has not been confirmed (as of this post), but speculation is that this will be the case in some future release of the OS (no word on when that may be). But no, this is not currently an option, and there is no promise from Microsoft that it ever will be.

Silverlight. Silverlight. Silverlight. :) ASP.NET + MVC will not work. XNA is intended to be used for building games. Attempting to build more standard user interfaces using it would give you a migraine to say the least, and would not look anywhere near good.

As answered above, there is no way to do this on the phone.
As for pointers on all of this. I strongly encourage you to simply google (or bing if you're into that kind of thing) "getting started with windows phone" or "windows phone tutorials". Best source I could point you to is the Windows Phone Developer website. It's got some great tutorials that don't assume you know lots about windows phone. Best to get this material from Microsoft. It'll be more reliable, more well written, and ultimatly more useful. I've been writing Windows Phone apps since before the phone was released, and I still use it for learning the basics of something new. Great place.

Anyone know about Rhomobile?

I read about http://rhomobile.com/ and I found this is great but I want to ask whether the application built with that would run in Browser or Natively on the device as this requires HTML and Ruby?
The application generated using Rhodes are pure Native application... And there is no need to install Ruby on devices as Rhodes will take core of it..

Your application is a web application, but it doesn't run on the internet, it runs on a small webserver that is part of your application inside the phone. It also doesn't run in the browser, but rather in a native browser widget inside your application.
Since the webserver runs on the phone itself, it has access to all the native capabilities of the phone, so you can make HTTP calls to the webserver to capture sound from the microphone, shoot video with the camera, get the GPS location, get multitouch info and so on.

Native iPhone app in HTML/Javascript?

I would like to build an app that heavily relies on Google Maps. Is it possible to write a native iPhone application in HTML/Javascript ? If so, will it be accessible from the app store ? Otherwise, how could I include Google Maps in a native app ?
You will need to build a framework application in Objective-C that contains a UIWebView. You can populate the UIWebView with your HTML/Javascript.
In my opinion the better alternative is to use the MapKit framework from a native app. MapKit lets you do almost everything you can do using the full Google Maps API and I think a native app will always work better on the device than a UIWebView container app.
I have used MapKit in a few of my apps and found it easy to use with nice performance. In the linked example I embed a MkMapView in a UIScrollView in page mode. I doubt you would have an easy time implementing this with a UIWebView and I am sure it wouldn't perform as well.
Yes, it is possible to do this. There is a great opensource project called PhoneGap http://phonegap.com/ that allows you to do exactly that. Not only but alos deploy on other mobile OSs like Android, blackberry etc.
To get on the app store, you need to register as an apple developer which is about US$100. Development can only be done on a mac) Apple gives you lots of software tools including code editors and iphone simulator.
Addressing the two parts of your question:

There's a framework called NimbleKit that allows you to write your app in HTML/JavaScript and then converts it to Objective-C/Cocoa for you. There are several problems with NimbleKit, though:
It costs $99.
It adds a level of indirection that increases the chance of errors.
Because you're not using the 'real thing', you're much more limited in what you can do (i.e. you can only use what they have made available to you).
Another solution is to embed a UIWebView in a native iPhone app (you'll have to use a bit of Objective-C/Cocoa to do this) and then write the rest of your app as an iPhone web app that is loaded into the UIWebView. However, I would strongly advise you not to write an iPhone web app, whether standalone or embedded in a native app. As of writing, iPhone web apps have many disadvantages, including:
They're very slow.
They have limited functionality (e.g. no device APIs).
They can't take advantage of the Cocoa-Touch framework (a serious downside).
iPhone web apps may become viable in the future, but at this point in time, I'd steer away from them and write a native iPhone app using native technologies (i.e. Objective-C/Cocoa).

Maps in a native app ?
Use Apple's framework "MapKit". See Displaying Maps and Annotations in the iPhone Application Programming Guide, this tutorial, and this tutorial for information on how to use MapKit.
In iPhone OS 3.0 and greater apple has created a custom Cocoa Touch control that allows developers to embed Google Maps into a native app. The maps support multi-touch and you can annotate the maps with custom views, find the user's current location and do other cool stuff.
The way to do this is to build your app as a regular web app (javascript/css/html). The embed that in a native WebView. The WebView is a container for iphone apps that are meant to be web apps. These apps are sold the same way as other apps on the app store.
It's not possible to write a native iPhone app in HTML/JS, http://code.google.com/p/iphone-google-maps-component/ may be of some use, or you can use:

There is also Appcelerator Titanium, which looks to be a good framework for developing iPhone and Android applications using web technologies. They gave an interesting presentation on this at C4.
However, trying to "write once, run everywhere" on mobile devices will cause you to create something that is inferior on all platforms to native applications, because you will need to design for the lowest common denominator between them.
