you have to enable IIS on your windows system and run this by putting in the inetpub/wwwroot/(your own foldername)/(file name saved as .aspx)
also make sure that inetpub folder in the C: drive is granted permissions for IISUSers this can be done by following the below steps
right click the inetpub folder and go to security tab and click edit and click add and click advanced and click findnow and find IIS_IUSRS and grant full permissions to it so as to create the book.xml file dynamically
Then go to ur fav internet browser and type localhost/(your own foldername)/(file name saved as .aspx). Then you can see the page in action if any queries feel free to ask me personally i will try to help you to the best of my knoweledge..
I am not sure why people gave a negative point to this question

When creating a new database through PHPMyAdmin and trying to access localhost/newdatabase, I get this message:
"Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server. If
you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 404 localhost Apache/2.4.34 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.1.0i PHP/7.2.9"
The file doesn't show in xampp/htdocs either, only in xampp/mysql/data.
If i create files directly in htdocs, they work perfectly on localhost/.
Why has the file not been created in htdocs?
The content of the htdocs folder are files that can be interpreted by the browser such as HTML5, CSS, JS, etc... in order to show a webpage along with it's funcionality to whoever accesses it. A database in the other hand can't directly be opened by a browser, but rather accessed within the server by a backend language like PHP, in order to get the information that can be stored in it through tables. You seem to be new to web programming, so I'd recommend to quickly google some beginner tutorials that can help you to understand the most important concepts. To take on from your kind of confusion, I'd point you to expand your knowledge on these concepts:
HTML5
CSS
PHP
MySQL
Once you get the grasp of them and identify each by their core funcionality, you'll be good on your way to make webpages. Later on you'll find yourself with demands like making your webpage look nice and clear, and also to make it load fast, but there's time for everything and the concepts I pointed are the best start for you.
if you wanna open your database URL = http://localhost/phpmyadmin/
File directory ~ xampp/htdocs for source code such as extension file .php .html .js or other.
if you wanna load localhost a URL is http://localhost:80 (auto find index file to first load)
Sample given as image folder for my code. Hope that can help you to understand xampp
We are using FileZilla as out FTP. At the moment, I want to insert a script in the live index.html. Unfortunately, there is more than 1 index.html files on the ftp.
I was wondering how to pinpoint the exact one?
Is there a way to trace it back using just the Google Chrome Inspect Element?
Thank you in advance!
By "live", I presume you mean the one displayed when you visit a particular URL; and by multiple index.html files existing, you presumably mean that there are multiple folders on the FTP server, and you don't know which one maps to the URL in question.
The short answer is no: the mapping from URL to directory structure can be configured however the administrator of the server wants, and is completely invisible to web browsers, so there is no general rule to find out.
Barring luck in finding some clue, you have two ways to attack the problem:
Firstly, you can search for distinctive content: take a copy of all the folders you think might be relevant, then do a "find in files" for some text you know is in the target file but unlikely to be elsewhere. At worst, you might narrow down the list of possibilities before trying the next approach.
Secondly, you can use trial and error: make a list of candidate files, then edit each in turn to add an innocuous but visible piece of text. Then load the target URL and see if it changed; if not, revert the file and try the next.
I installed the plugin, but when I save a file within a folder like css/style.css it won't appear in its folder structure in the sidebar.
Also, how do I set the 'global' folder location for this project? Or how to change to another project for later?
Maybe I'm missing something the tutor on tuts+ used, so any tips on additional plugins to help with these tasks will be appreciated.
I'll work to address your questions here, but I recommend creating an issue, if there really is one, on the GitHub Page (I'm also the current maintainer of the plugin and I would probably respond faster to issues on the page because I also get email notification from those).
With that out of the way, I'll start on the questions. After you create the file, can you verify it is created? That is, after you create it through the plugin, can you see the file exists outside of Sublime Text? If so, can you give me more information about your setup so I can try to recreate the issue? Note it may also be a bug within the editor itself, but for now let's assume it's not. When you are creating the file, there should be an absolute path in the status bar below the input window. It should say something along the lines of Creating file at ...
There are a number of configurations for you to manage, if you so choose. Details about these can be read about here. These can be setup as global preferences (navigate to Preferences -> Package Settings -> AdvancedNewFile -> Settings - User). This will create a file for you to place your settings. You may look at the README or the default settings to see a list of valid keys. You may also setup project specific settings, which are explained here.
The AdvancedNewFile plugin works, by default, by using the folders in the window it was activated. So by opening a new project/window, you will have a new set of top level folders when creating files. If you did not have any folders open, it will fall back to the home directory.
Let me know if I can clarify anything. I'll try to check back here, but again, creating an issue for any problems would be fastest way to notify me.
I've developed a new wordpress website on a testing domain name on our server.
I had set the site up ready to go live... but I had to move the wordpress website onto another domain name that we are also hosting on our server.
So what I did was copy all root folder content from the testing domain name and pasted the content into the new domain name's root folder.
I then logged into wordpress, changed all the necessary settings like WORDPRESS URL and SITE ADDRESS URL as well as image absolute urls in each and every individual pages to make sure that I've got the right URL for everything.
When I click on MEDIA, I can see all the images like normal.
Great ... then I go and check the website live and I see that there are a lot of images that are missing! They are all in the MEDIA panel - but do not show up on the website!
I then double check that all images are pathed correctly ... and they all are.
Now why do SOME images show up and others don't?
I've even tried to add a new photo and use that photo in place of another photo that isn't showing up and that new photo doesn't even show up.
Where does my problem lie?
For example, 1 slideshow on my website which isn't showing images, give me an "image not found" error for a image:
Image not found: http://www.domain.com/wp-content/themes/natural
/lib/timthumb.php?src=http://www.domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/breakfast-gallery-011.jpg&w=610&h=0&zc=1
Ok I am going to answer my question with some advice.
It's clear that some of my images were 'hard coded' as devin mentioned as I could not find a logical reason for some not showing (even when I looked at the tabular data in MySQL) and because I'm not a database engineer / developer - I wasn't prepared to dive too deep into that with the possibility of causing further issues... so I decided to take down the entire wordpress site, create a new database, re-install wordpress and I imported an exported xml file that I created and saved (luckily) before 'migrating sites'.
Advice:
1) Whether you migrate a wordpress site or not, always backup your website regularly by creating an export of your wordpress structure. It may save you a lot of work in future.
2) If you're an amateur or beginner at development and MYSQL like myself, I'd suggest you create your wordpress site on the actual domain name you want it on. This will save you from 'migration' headaches as I've just experienced ... and a lot of time. Learn from my mistakes. Although there is probably a solution to my question above, it's out of my expertise / knowledge and could be out of yours too... so make it easy for yourself :)
The issue is not that the image URls are hardcoded only. The last portion of the URL is harcoded, but you will most likely have "/wp-content/" embedded in the URL which indicates that the image's URL string is dynamically created. I looked in my wp_postmeta table and there were all of the partial image URls ( like this - 2013/03/expanse2.jpg ). Now where is the beginning part of this URL and the domain name? The domain name is the part that is actually missing from the all of the image urls in my case. I dug into the database a little deeper using phpmyadmin ( but i recommend Webmin if you can get it up and running ). I ran into the "home" field in the "wp_options" table. Asked Google what a proper "home url" would be for wordpress, which brought me to this page ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/home_url ) , and this line was in there ( home_url() is located in wp-includes/link-template.php. ). Went to that file and found that it controls how URLs are built, but not uploaded image urls specifically. In the end i went into a page that had an image, looked at the advanced settings and found the image URL was just missing the domain. I used the wonderful search and replace script to repair it. Done
I have a new client who asked me to make 2 websites and no payment so far!
I have the ftp accounts, but he can always close my access and leave me without pay.
Can I upload the CSS to another server of mine and encrypt the link to CSS file?
If yes, can I restrict peoples to see the file if they find the URL to CSS file?
Thank you!
If they are his hosting accounts, then accessing them to tamper with the code for the purpose of disabling his sites without his authorisation is probably illegal.
If he hasn't paid you, you own the copyright. If he refuses to pay you, file a DMCA complaint with his hosting company.
Technological measures like this are futile and unprofessional. Next time use a contract.
This is simple. Same scenario happened to me, and what I did was added an new index.html which was an under-construction page, and renamed the original index.php as index_to_be.php.
I then added a redirection using htaccess to the new index.html.
The client contacted me straight away and paid up in no time.
If you don't know how to use htaccess, you can simply add a header location value to the top php page.
header("location:index.html");
The best way to do this is to create a simple PHP file that allows you to access, edit and delete files on the server. You can also search for a ready made lightweight ftp script. Place the PHP file somewhere on the server nested in other folders and name it something like temp.php. Now even if the client blocked you access to the server, you can still access, edit and delete files on the server by pointing your URL to temp.php. When you get paid, be kind enough to remove the file. Don't forget to password protect it.
In your PHP file you can use opendir() to read files from a directory, and unlink() to delete files. If all you want to do is be able to delete files, then the script will not take you more then a minute to create.
UPDATE
You can use the following lightweight ftp script that will let you view, edit delete files and also give you the option to password protect it. http://sourceforge.net/projects/pafm/
You could remove the style sheet from the client's site, upload it to one of your servers and embed it from there:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://your.server/styles.css">
however, you will not be able to seriously obfuscate this. One idea that comes to mind is to add a huge number of spaces before the "link" tag to hide it in the source code view.
<link rel="stylesheet".....>
You could also lazy load it using jQuery, but that would disable the style sheet for users who have JavaScript turned off - mostly a no-go.
In the end, no matter what you do, all this will be trivially easy to circumvent. There is no way to reliably keep control over the site in the scenario you describe. Like #thirtydot says, the best thing to do is to send a screenshot instead.
This is probably like trying to kill a fly with a ICBM but...
You could always use a JavaScript to add the link element to the DOM, and run the JavaScript code through a JS obfusticator.
But still, that's hackish, and overkill, and ways you can get the link anyway.
