Determine if given job is currently running using Hudson/Jenkins API - hudson

Is there an API to determine whether a given job is currently running or not?
Ideally, I'd also like to be able to determine its estimated % complete and get the details of the SVN revision number and commit comment too!

I found the answer. http://host/job/project/lastBuild/api/ has almost all of what I need in it somewhere! If you kick off a manual build, it won't tell you the SCM changesets, but that makes sense. It does still tell you the latest SCM revision though, so that's good. All in all, good enough for my purposes right now.

As gareth_bowles and Sagar said, using the Jenkins API is the way to know.
If you put the depth to 1, you will see what you're looking for:

If you go to your job's page, and add "api" to the end of the URL, you'll get information on using the API.

If you're comfortable with digging through the Jenkins Java API, you could write a system Groovy script to get this data. The Job class is the place to start.

As stated on the /api page of your build (chapter "Accessing Progressive Console Output"), you can poll the console output with a GET request by calling <url-to-job>/lastBuild/logText/progressiveText. To quote the API doc:
If the response also contains the X-More-Data: true header, the server is indicating that the build is in progress
And there you go. You can test this behaviour by simply calling the respective URL in your browser and then inspecting the response headers with your browser's developer tools (usually accessed by pressing F12). In Firefox, the respective tab is called "network analysis" (assuming my translation is correct, my browser is not set to English). In Chrome, navigate to the "Network" tab.
This answer is based on Jenkins version 2.176.3.

It is also possible to look at the color attribute. I know it is not the wanted way. But maybe someone can make use of it.
get the overview xml via "/job/api/xml" and then check the color attribute for "anim".

Wazuh active response with VirusTotal is not working

Wanted to integrate with VirusTotal and Yara but it seems like active response doesn't work as expected by following the steps in the link below:

After adding/downloading eicar.com in /root directory, and read ossec.log, I get the following output:

I just followed the documentation and it worked well for me in Wazuh Manager 4.3.4 and a Wazuh Agent of the same version.
I got those same messages in /var/ossec/logs/ossec.log of the Wazuh Agent, those appear when the files do not exist or the proper permissions are not assigned, those files were replaced already in 4.2 but still show up in the log, since you are trying to use the script from the documentation then do not worry about those messages.
If you check under /var/ossec/logs/active-responses.log do you get any error?
What version of Wazuh Manager and Wazuh Agent are you using?

The Active Response module is managed from the Wazuh Manager in /var/ossec/etc/ossec.conf, from here you can enable the response you need to execute using an <active response> configuration block that will use a "command" as a response. For example, if you are going to enable "remove-threat" as an Active Response on any agent that triggers the VirusTotal rule, you should have a <command> block and also an <active-response> block for that particular case, the same goes for any other AR case you may want to use.

The Response (script) needs to be present on each agent under /var/ossec/active-response/bin/. If you are only using the "remove-threat" Active Response, you should only have a single <active-response> block on the Manager's configuration file. Each <active-response> block within the Manager's "ossec.conf" must have a matching <command> block that is basically the response (script) the module is going to use. Perhaps you can share with us this configuration file so we can take a look.
Also, the following output from the Manager will be useful to see if the integration with Virustotal is being activated:

How to use the Google api-client python library for Google Logging

I've been using the Google apiclient library in python for various Google Cloud APIs - mostly for Google Compute - with great success.
I want to start using the library to create and control the Google Logging mechanism offered by the Google Cloud Platform.
However, this is a beta version, and I can't find any real documentation or example on how to use the logging API.
All I was able to find are high-level descriptions such as:

Can anyone provide a simple example on how to use apiclient for logging purposes?

Which states you can do the following to set the log level:

However it doesn't seem to have any impact on the output which is always INFO for me.
I also tried setting httplib2 to debuglevel 4:

Yet I don't see any HTTP headers in the log :/
I know this question is old, but it is getting some attention, so I guess it might be worth answering to it, in case someone else comes here.
Stackdriver Logging Client Libraries for Google Cloud Platform are not in beta anymore, as they hit General Availability some time ago. The link I shared contains the most relevant documentation for installing and using them.
After running the command pip install --upgrade google-cloud-logging, you will be able to authenticate with your GCP account, and use the Client Libraries.
Using them is as easy as importing the library with a command such as from google.cloud import logging, then instantiate a new client (which you can use by default, or even pass the Project ID and Credentials explicitly) and finally work with Logs as you want.
You may also want to visit the official library documentation, where you will find all the details of how to use the library, which methods and classes are available, and how to do most of the things, with lots of self-explanatory examples, and even comparisons between the different alternatives on how to interact with Stackdriver Logging.
As a small example, let me also share a snippet of how to retrieve the five most recent logs which have status more sever than "warning":

Bear in mind that this is just a simple example, and that many things can be achieved using the Logging Client Library, so you should refer to the official documentation pages that I shared in order to get a more deep understanding of how everything works.

Get JSON from Google Apps Script URL via Erlang

I've been looking into the possibility of using GAS(Google Apps Script) to host a small bit of javascript that lets me use the new Google finance apps api. The intention being that I'll be using the stock information for a project which involves the use of stock data. I know that there are a few ways to get stock information from Google, but the data that the finanace app returns is more in-line with other sources we are using. (One constraint on this project is that we have multiple sources).
I've written the javascript and I can call a httpc:request to the URL for the script given to me from Google. In the browser the JS returns the json object as I want it, however when the call is made from Erlang I'm getting it in a list of ascii. From checking the values it appears to be a document starting like:

For the erlang, it's a simple request but I've not been doing erlang long, so perhaps I've messed something up here (The URL being the one mentioned above). I've got crypto / ssl / inets when I'm testing this on the command line.

I've been updating the script as I go with the new versions but I'm at a bit of a loss as to why it's not returning correctly.
If anyone can give me any pointers I'd be very grateful! I get the feeling that it's not intended to be used this way, perhaps only within other Google products and such.

Possibly your GET is not following the REDIRECT that happens when you use contentService. Look at the html returned there is a redirect in there.

invalid xml request for calculator service

I'm completely new to axis2c and I've just downloaded and unpacked
axis2c 1.6 for Windows (binary release).
I've followed the installation instructions and have successfully
started axis2_http_server.
Trying to access the Calculator service's WSDL works fine but any call to
the service's add method returns "invalid XML in request" as well as the
same text is shown in the console window where axis2_http_server is
running.
I've also tried soapUI. The request shown is:

The problem is issued in in calc.c (function axis2_calc_add()), where
seq_node = axiom_node_get_first_child(complex_node, env);
returns NULL.
Calculator service example has multiple issues that prevents it to work.
Firstly, implementation of add operation is invalid, it expects request like that (here is only contents of soap body):

Looks like someone committed that code by mistake.
Secondly, code that is implemented in Calculator service does not allow to have whitespaces between request elements. It takes any first node hoping it is an element, but fails, because takes text node between elements.
To start that example without modification of the service:
use one of sub, div, mul operations.
remove all whitespaces in request element like that:
<typ:sub><param_1>3</param_1><param_2>2</param_2></typ:sub>
Then you will be able to call the service.
If you want to see fully working Calculator service, you can compile Axis2/C from axis2-unofficial project (or install it from binary archive).
Or, you can apply that changes to the original source code and recompile it.

Jenkins and JUnit

I've read over the Jenkins site and its JUnit plugin, and for some reason something that is very basic is just not apparent to me.
Jenkins has an Email-ext plugin for sending custom/advanced notification emails whenever a build is ran. In these emails you can place "content tokens" that are runtime variables that get replaced with dynamic values when the email is being generated.
One of these tokens is TEST_COUNTS which allows you to display the number of JUnit tests that ran, or which failed, etc.
How does one go about getting Jenkins to display this information correctly? Is there a plugin I need, and if so, which one? I have my build running JUnit and generating an XML report. I assume Jenkins somehow parses JUnit results out of that XML and uses it to give values to that token.
But on the other hand, I've read "literature" (mailing list posts) that seems to suggest that in order to use that token you need to use Jenkins to run the unit tests, not a junit Ant task from inside your build script.
Can someone clarify this for me and perhaps even set out the "order of operations" for what steps I need to take in order to be able to make use of this token?
It would be supremely useful to get test counts in our build notifications.
Your first explanation is right. You tell Jenkins where to search for JUnit output files, and it parses them to find out the test results:
The test results appear on each project and build page, so as long as you're seeing the correct results there, you should get the correct token replacements in your e-mails
Add something like this to the content in the "Editable Email Notification" configuration:
