AddChildAt() to add item at specific index position - actionscript-3

I have a textBox and I am using it as a mail address input field where the user can type in several addresses, a bit same as in hotmail. Each address is rendered into a clickable button. Thus upon double-clicking on a specific address I want the item to be editable. After having edited the address when the user taps enter, the item is added to the list of mail adds.
I am adding it using the code below:
flowBox.addChildAt( myItem, myindex);
However addChildAt seems to add the item as the last item in the list. But I want it to add the item the position where it was originally. Say the item was at position 2 in the mail list, after editing adn tapping enter, it should add at position 2 itself and not at the end of the list.
Can you please tell me if there is any way for doing this?
Thanks

Try to use addElementAt() instead. More details are here.

You can do what Constantiner has suggested, perhaps it's addChildAt(index).
The other way of doing is just hide the child and show the child instead by visible property instead of removing and adding

Dynamically changing the bound entity of a list box on a canvas

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue.
I have two radio buttons on a canvas app that I am attempting to control the values displayed within a list box.
RadioButtons.Items: ["SomeValueA","SomeValueB"]
The list box control should be getting reset whenever the value of the radio button changes.
UpdateContext({resetList: !resetList});
UpdateContext({resetList: !resetList});
Reset(lbListbox);
lbListbox.Reset: resetList
For the list box itself I have the following for Items:
Switch(
RadioButtons.Selected.Value,
"SomeValueA",
Sort(
EntityA.FieldName,
Descending
),
"SomeValueB",
Sort(
EntityB.'Some other field name',
Descending
)
)
The problem is when I select 'SomeValueA' the list box properly populates with the values from EntityA.FieldName but when I then select 'SomeValueB' from the radio buttons the list box blanks out with empty records. There appears to be items in the list box that I can scroll through and select but not see.
If I put two list boxes on the screen and set their Items event to the specific entity the values show up properly in both list boxes so I know the entity naming/field is correct.
I've tried it without the reset of the list box, I've tried it using collections made out of the entity records.
Has anyone come across this who maybe has a solution. I was going to try to put two list boxes on top of one another and either hide/show or bring to front the active list but that also doesn't want to work.
thanks!
(Received this post from another source, figured I might as well post back here as well)
Got this to work, but it was a bit finicky. The catch seemed to be giving the List a value-pairing table, instead of just a list of values.
First I collected the Option Sets from CDS, and added a column to indicate the source name, for reference. This could easily be combined into a single collection, and then filtered later but I was thinking simple.
ClearCollect(colOptionSet1,AddColumns(Choices('Ownership (Accounts)'),"appSource","Ownership"));
ClearCollect(colOptionSet2,AddColumns(Choices('Preferred Method of Contact (Accounts)'),"appSource","Preferred Method"));
Next added a Radio button identical to yours.
Then added a List control with Items equal to
If( Radio1.Selected.Value = "SomeValueA", colOptionSet1, Radio1.Selected.Value = "SomeValueB", colOptionSet2 )
You may need to use the right-side property pane to toggle between Value and "appSource" (from collections above), but this did allow me to toggle between two separate Option Set fields in a single list.
Patching/writing this back is gonna be another hurdle. 😝

How to set the first continuous combobox invisible in Access 2007?

I'm trying to add an OR feature in the Continuous Filter Form and as you can see the first combobox shows up which I don't want it to show. Ideally, it should show only when the user wants the second row search option not in the first row filter. I have only OR in the combobox. Thanks for your help and let me know if you need any clarification!
Continuous form controls are all or nothing. If it's visible, it's visible in all rows, if invisible, it's invisible in all rows. There's nothing you can do about that.
You have four options (in order of complexity):
First Option:
The "On Current" event of the form happens when a user moves from one row to another inside the continuous form. you can add an IF statement to that event that disables the first box if the user has moved to the first row.
Second Option:
Have a fixed amount of filter boxes, and don't let the user pass the limit
Third Option:
Have a fixed amount of filter boxes, but make a "forward" and "back" buttons that will change what data the filter boxes link to, effectively making a 'custom' continuous form
Fourth Option:
Dynamically create the textboxes programatically (not recommended)
Set the default 'Visible' property to 'No' and then Reset it to 'Yes' when a second criteria is selected. This will populate the whole column though, just so you know.

Display a LI that is held under a different parent

I currently have a navigation that is based on the bellow image. (sorry about the terrible sketch) I have a tab along the top called "films" that is also classed as a department.
I would like the tab "films" to open the sub cat films located in the department tab as though the mouse was hovered over that.
Currently the department "films" is a list item under an ordered list of department and has an ID of MM05.
The tab "films" is again another li in an unordered list for the top bar that originally had its own drop down.
Not sure how I can get around this!
This is sadly not possible just using CSS as "Cascading" means that you can only go downwards with your selectors.
You would have to use Javascript for this.
This would look something like this
<script>
var linkToOpenDropDown=document.getElementbyId("filmLink");
var dropDown=document.getElementbyId("dropDownList");
linkToOpenDropDown.onmouseover=function() {
dropDown.style.visibility='visible';
};
linkToOpenDropDown.onmouseout=function() {
dropDown.style.visibility='hidden';
};
</script>
From your drawing, I am thinking you will have a static DIV that holds a sub menu. So on click it would "visibility: hidden / visible" change to what you need. I assume that is the location where you want it to show, so mouse over wouldn't work since you can reach it from the button location with out going mouseout...
Please do provide little more code or info on this, thanks.
If i understood correctly, I would make that a onclick (show, hide) type DIV, and have that div with LI use onMouseOver Show / Hide additional panels

Can I move tagged items?

Is there a setting that will automatically move tagged items when they are complete? For example, if I have a to-do list with check boxes, once a box is checked, is there a setting that would move the item to another page? Maybe a page I have designated as "Completed items"?
No. but you can use the Find Tags feature and tick the "Only show unchecked items" checkbox.

Hide arrow in standard dropdown?

Is there a a way to hide the arrow in a standard dropdown select fieldset?
Fiddle link
I have an autocomplete system where you fill in the organisation number of a company and it finds the info based on a database. I'd like to have the select box, but without the arrow..
I need it to do this as it's a double function form, either you can fill in your ORG nr or just manually type it in, pretty simple, probably used all over the internet.
Thanks :)
Kyle,
Usually autocomplete systems use input text elements instead of a select element. This creates what you are trying to achieve. Google is a classic example of this.
If you want, you can take a look at jQuery's autocomplete plugin to get another example and some code ideas, or whatever. http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete
It's not easy, but you can fake it by putting a button above a Select that has its size property set to a value greater than 0.
Have the Select hidden and positioned absolutely under the button. Clicking the button shows the list. Selecting the list changes the text on the button and re-hides the Select.
This way you need a text box, because you cannot type anything in <select> tag.
And put an onclick event to this box to open autocomplete with all possible values.
