Map Resources for Map Development - google-maps

I am attempting a GPS application and i wanted to use Google maps API to create it. I was wondering if you guys had any resources such as the name of some books, websites, videos that i can purchase, and tutorials that i can look at to help me in creating the application. I am looking at using technologies such as java and flash to accomplish this. I also want to include a lot of custom objects on the map such to mimic real world objects such as cars, people and so on.
Also any comments on the use of the API would also be useful since i know there is also BING out there as well.

They have a bunch of examples, tutorials, demoes and documentations on google maps home page http://code.google.com/apis/maps/index.html You can also check examples in action and try your own modification in google code playground http://code.google.com/apis/ajax/playground/ There is another tutorial here: http://econym.org.uk/gmap/

Does Google Map API V3 provide solution to tracking moving assets without using mobile app?

there,
Does Google Map API V3 include solution that allows to track moving assets without us having to develop additional mobile apps (apps to be installed on each asset to be tracked)?
My company is a Google Maps APIs Premium plan business user and we have several .Net C# web pages already using Google Map API. And we are looking for the possibility to add a moving-assets-tracking feature on our website now, but we prefer not to get into mobile app developments for this.
If that possible? I googled, but not seeing much info on this. Could you please provide some detailed examples?
Thanks!
Asset tracking is possible with Google Maps Platform, but I don't think this is possible without installing an application to the asset being tracked as there
could be no means to track it.
By V3, if you are referring to JavaScript API then it is not possible.
You may read about asset tracking in this documentation:
https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/asset-tracking/
Contacting sales team for Google Maps might be able to provide you something. But this is still unsure. The contact sales form can be found in the link above.

keep private google indoor locations

Once again, I'm trying to deal with something not really well documented on Google Maps API.
I'm doing a small webapp which would require to be able to map indoor areas BUT I've to keep them private.
For now, I don't find any informations related to this question.
I've found many quite similar questions on stackoverflow which seems to feet my needs regarding the title, BUT once I read the question, everything is related to Android or IOS however, I'm looking to do this on a regular WebPlatform using Maps APIs provided for this plateform.
If anyone as a hint, it will really help so, thanks in advance.
The documentation for custom StreetViews you find on https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/streetview#CustomStreetView
Keeping the images private is not hard to achieve, the images are loaded directly by the client, so you may e.g. use a serverside script that handles the requests and for example checks for a valid session before it delivers the images.
According to the GoogleMaps community forum (https://support.google.com/maps/thread/124604237/how-can-i-make-indoor-maps-private?hl=en) it is not possible to render google indoor maps private. One solution could be using mapspeople api which uses google maps and draws indoor maps on a top layer, or resort to mapwize which utilizes OpenStreetMaps as a base map to draw indoor maps layers on.

note that mapspeople requires payment, while mapwize has a very basic free version.

Stored Map Like Google Maps or OpenLayers

Is Their anything like stored maps from where I can get Latitude/Longitude from address and vice versa. Like a database file or something else other than web based services so that I will not have to be connected over Internet while calculating address from Latitude/Longitude and Counter-wise.
Thank You
EDIT : Just to be clear. We use Google API's to find out Routes between two Geo-Locations I need the Same Feature.
Nominatim ? [1] It’s one of the source for the OSM home page.
Source code is on github [2].

2: https://github.com/twain47/Nominatim
EDIT: I didn’t understand correctly. You can checkout OSRM : http://project-osrm.org/
Maybe you can check out Navit it is an open source offline routing and navigation application. They have a wiki over here which also explains a bit about routing.
I have not tried the application, but one of the features mentioned in the wiki is "adress and POI search".
There are several means of contact mentioned in their wiki as well, if you want to ask them about how they did.
You might also want to check out this list to find other interesting apps that provide offline map storage, routing and/or offline address search http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Software/Desktop
This looks interesting as well: OSM Automated Navigation Directions.

Open source map

anyone can suggest what program / approach I should use?
I need to have a map like google map where I can display map, add marker polygon etc.
But I cannot rely on such online services as client is afraid that such service die off and there goes our system...
Have a look at lots of resources pointed in answers to these questions on GIS.SE:
GIS for the web
Steps to Start Web Mapping
You might want to look at Google Fusion Tables, or solutions like MapBox or CartoDB for quick, hosted solutions.
Willing to invest more time (and depending on your skills and language preferences) you could delve into PostGIS & GeoServer / Mapserver with a frontend of OpenLayers / Leaflet (or any other libraries). OSGeo-Live DVD might come handy for a quick and dirty review of most of these options.
Here are pure open source based web map and geo-location database resources. Google map or Bing map is wonderful, but they require business contract for commercial use. It is said that Foursquare recently switched their map tool from Google map to open source based Leaflet API which looks like the picture below. This map tools is quite great and recommendable.
web API for map : http://leafletjs.com/
Good place to start. Two resources below are not really used for developers, cause those are already included in leaflet javascript API.
Map style : http://cloudmade.com/
Map data : http://www.openstreetmap.org/
Geo location based on ip address : http://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/geolite
Can download free ip address & city mapping file, which can be used for custom mapping code.
I recommend http://mapserver.org/
You can create map files into you server...and you can connect to open source databases like PostGIS

Do you know any framework / application to create a google map based web application

I want to create a web application which makes use of Google maps.
Features are quite simple:
Users can login (best with FB connect)
Users can post items which are geolocated
UI consists mainly of a google map with all items
I'm looking for something implemented where you would only have to specify the nature of your items.
Any ideas?
If you're not going to make money off of it, you can use ESRI's Javascript API for free:
