I create a small web app, the user add his address and I want to show the map for his address.
Is there a way to get the latitude and longitude for an address? with Google Maps.
Or you could use the geocoding service from google maps: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/services.html#Geocoding
Here's a simple example for it: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/geocoding-simple.html
Yes there is. It is called geocoding. Here is Google's API: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/geocoding/

I have a share google maps link like this: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rFtzbfFRr1aKTFJN6
Can I extract latitude a longitude coordinates from that, in console?
Thanks
Yes it is possible, the process you are talking about is referred to as reverse geocoding.
This is possible using google API and you should be able to find everything you need to do this in there documentation.

I am trying to open up google maps in the browser by passing it 4 points. What is the scheme to launch google maps so it inputs a start coordinate and an end coordinate?
It's not offically documented, but currently this works:
https://www.google.de/maps/dir/origin_lat,origin_lng/destination_lat,destination_lng/
e.g. Chicago to Detroit:
https://www.google.de/maps/dir/41.87,-87.62/42.33,-83.04/
You may also use addresses:
https://www.google.de/maps/dir/origin_address/destination_address/
https://www.google.de/maps/dir/Chicago/Detroit/
The URL parameters for this Google API are destination and origin, here you can use adresses or coordinates as values:
https://www.google.com/maps/embed/v1/directions?origin=sydney&destination=sydney&key=...
but be aware that for this service you need an API key. When using the javascript API you don't need an API key, at least if you don't have too much traffic.
I have read your answer on this.
Maps API keys for geocoding not working anymore?
Currently I am trying this:
https://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=n&sensor=true&key=apikeygoeshere
Giving me error:
This API project is not authorized to use this API.
Please suggest how can I complete my app. I am searching locations for my App.I can buy business plan later but for now I need to test for development.
I have following services on:
Google Maps Coordinate API, Google Maps Engine API, Google Maps Geolocation API, Google Maps JavaScript API v3, Google Maps SDK for iOS, Places API.
What you are referring to is not the Geolocation API. It is the Geocoding API. You need to enable the Geocoding API in your console. Please see the documentation.
Visit the APIs console at https://code.google.com/apis/console and log in with your Google Account.
Click the Services link from the left-hand menu in the APIs Console, then activate the Geocoding API service.
Hope this helps.
Try this URL,
You Don't have to enter API Key in URL
Just pass lat,lng in URL through a variable
http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?latlng=-34.78,138.519&sensor=false
When you put your location (Capital Area Soccer League) in google map search, google plots the location in the map if it finds a correct geocodes but if it does not finds proper geocodes for the searched location then it shows suggestions of corrects locations in the dropdown. When you choose any of the locations from the dropdown - it has the correct lat long (geocodes) so it plots that in the map correctly.
So you should not use geocodes in the search rather open up a suggestions dropdown and when click on any of the suggested location then you have correct geocodes to plot in the map.
I am using google map api i am fetching dynamically latitude and longitude from my database.
I want to show address for each position can any one tell me how can id that.
or can any anyone tell how this site is fetching address for each every position.

Fetching the associated address from a coordinates is called Reverse Geocoding
The Google Maps API provides reverse geocoding in the javascript API and as a web service.
The Google Maps service is not intended for bulk use. Your best option is to store the address in your database along with the coordinates as Reverse Geocoding is not always reliable.
You can use google map api like below
http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?latlng=34.41448,-118.93753&sensor=true
Using this api,you can get address address from key
"formatted_address" : "1271 Cliff Avenue, Fillmore, CA 93015, USA"
Whole address you can get using this api.
Hope need helpful.
I'd guess that site is using the Reverse Geocoding API provided by Google.
Does the Google Maps API v3 provide a way to access alternate suggestions if the address has typos in it? For example, I am processing a file containing some misspelled street names and getting 0 results back in the JSON from Google for those addresses. If I manually search for that address, Google Maps presents me with alternate suggested addresses. Is there a way to access those with the API in the geocoding response?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
