Google Map with Default direction - google-maps

In my site I've already implemented Google Map Direction API Version-3. With this I can show the direction between places by choosing from the selectbox.
Now I want to implement another map which will load initially with the directions I have given. Also with point to point direction. I want to print the map with the map and the directions. But I cannot load the map with directions when the page loads. Anyone have any idea?

It would be great if you could show some code so we can tell you what is wrong...
Here are the steps that you should take in order to show the directions when the page loads:
show the map
find the coordinates for the locations (if you haven't got them
already, use the geocoding service
from google maps)
create a request to send to the directions service from google
send the request and get the result from it
show the result on the map
Don't forget that the geocoding and directions services are asynchronous and you will have to write the code for what happens after the results are received in a callback function.

Send a route and markers to render on the Google Maps web site

I have a route directions url that I can send to google maps https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&origin=Aljezur&destination=Porto&waypoints=Odemira|Cercal|Sines|Ermidas+do+Sado|Lisboa|Peniche|Caldas+da+Rainha|Tomar|Leiria.
The thing is that I would like to draw the route and also highlight the nearest gas stations of that route at the same time. Then, the user would navigate the route or get more info about each gas station.
It seems impossible to send a route and query google places at the same time, in the same URL.
Any ideas on how this is done, but without a customised map control?
Than you very much guys

This revealed to be impossible with Maps URLs.
I'm now using customized Maps Javascript API app and it is OK.
Thanks

Generating a link to Google Maps from a directions API response

I currently have an application which takes a a start and end point from a user and sends a request to the google maps directions API, for example: https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/directions/xml?key=my_key8&origin=M460PU&destination=NN36NW&sensor=false&mode=driving&units=imperial&departure_time=1501752779
We then display the estimated journey time for a given route. The user has asked if it's possible for us to include a link directly to Google maps so that they can see the route on the maps and make sure it looks ok.
I've seen previous questions such as this one: Link to Google Maps but that seems to be a solution for a simple Google Maps search, where as in my case I want to see a route from the directions API.
I'm trying to figure out if I there's a way I can take the data from the Directions API response and plug that in to a http://maps.google.com/maps URL that the user can click on. Has anyone ever had any success doing this?
As mentioned #geocodezip you should use Google Maps JavaScript API or Google Static Maps API in order to show exactly the same route as the output of Directions API.
There is also an option to open Google Maps web site or native app using the Google Maps URLs. You can have a look at the documentation to figure out how to create the URL:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/urls/guide#directions-action
The only issue is that the Google Maps URLs doesn't provide any parameter for departure time, so you will always get routes for "Leave now" that might have discrepancies comparing to a web service that was requested for a different departure time.
Based on your question I think the Google Maps URL might be
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&origin=M460PU&destination=NN36NW&travelmode=driving

google maps how can i get live feed of a camera

My requirement is, I have a set up of few IP cameras in a certain area. I have geo-location of each camera. All cameras are set-up in urban area. can I call these cameras on google-maps? is there any API for that ? i should get live feed, when I click on a particular camera .. Please help me
Google map not providing any API for controlling any type of hardware devices. If you want to control you have to set up everything yourself. Google map is an API for doing map or location operations like getting the latitude and longitude of a location, get the distance from one location to another, and a map view. In your case I don't think Google map can give any help.
You can start reading documentation of Google map from here

show directions on google maps website

So I have successfully found directions to get some lat/long A to lat/long B using the Google Maps v3 directions api.
I want to be able to take a route from this api and give the user an option to view them on the google maps website.
I dont want to show the route on my website but only show the time it would take to get from A to B.
is this possible?
thanks!

The Directions API may only be used in conjunction with displaying results on a Google map; using Directions data without displaying a map for which directions data was requested is prohibited. Additionally, calculation of directions generates copyrights and warnings which must be displayed to the user in some fashion. For complete details on allowed usage, consult the Maps API Terms of Service License Restrictions.

Google Maps Api - newbie

I am starting to work on a Google Maps project, but I am totally new to Google Maps Api, as well as my JavaScript skills are quite small, my background is Java. I have started reading throught the docs and tutorials, but some basic questions stay unanswered, so I hope to get some help from you.
Does Google Maps api provide a way for user access control? Lets say, I have a map where my registered users(Joomla site) can add placemarks, how do I tell Google Maps if this user is allowed to work on the map? Or do I have to take care of that by myself without the Maps API?
What would be the right approach to create the following functionality: I want to let a user add a placemark to an empty map. Then I will check if the point added is ok for public publishing. If it's ok, then I want to transfer that placemark to the public map.
Is there some Maps API function to read out the placemarks on a specific map?
Andy
Regarding the user access control, it seems that I have mixed two things. When you use Google Maps on Google website, and you create your map with markers, you can specify other users who are allowed to add and edit markers on that map. However, Google Maps api obviously does not save a server side copy of the map you are working on. So everything happens at your site. If you add markers, then you have to keep track of them by yourself, so also user access control is your own problem.
However, I wonder, what would happen when I would create my own map on the Google Maps website with my own markers, and then I would display this map on my site. What would be then the way to read out the markers, lets say for a list of markers.
It seems that the right way is to implement it all yourself. Let user set marker, save the marker in database. Review the marker and if accepted mark it and display it on the public map when populating the map with your markers.
Ok, so I've been reading around and I found out, that obviously Google Maps does not provide a function to read out all markers on a map: how to get all markers on google-maps-v3
