I'm currently learning how to make facebook apps, and I've hit a problem.
Usually when I make flash applications, I can use the index.html and run the swf from a webserver.
However, I tried to make a facebook iFrame app using the same setup, all I get is the Alternative Content Text.
Any experienced flash/facebook developer help would be greatly appreciated by this newbie.
Below is what happen to my tutorial app.

Do you have filled the field "App Namespace" in the Developer Application Settings? I think it could be the problem...
Are you using FBML? If so, it may be easier to switch to iframe in order to have the swf work in the .html page as you expect it to work. Otherwise, you will need to implement your swf through fbml tags or fbjs code.

I know this question is simple and kind of silly but I really need to get an answer. I am doing some kind of family videos put together and I want that to be on one page or like an HTML file. but when I embed/link a directory file of video to the html it will play on the browser. Is there any way that when I embed a link it will just ask what application to open and will open on that video player that I selected? I'm not really that techie but I really need to make an offline HTML to organize my stuff. thank you so much in advance.

Not all browsers do this, but many will. One way to look at this is that the browser in this case is the desired application for viewing that video. (Often times, the user didn't make this choice of course, it was made for them.)
There are a couple ways around this. One way is to add the download attribute to your anchor element:
<a href="video.webm" download>Download the video</a
This will suggest to the browser that the video should be saved to local disk, and not just immediately opened.
A second method is to use an M3U file. All you need in your file is something like this:
#EXTM3U
https://example.com/video.webm
These tend to open up in the default player. Just keep in mind that not everyone has such a player installed.
You have to make your video files downloadable by creating a download link to it. This will give the option of either open in browser or save to local disk.

So... I work on a Retail store and we use a kiosk-like app on the laptops with the hardware and price information.
Recently i realized (because it runs 24/7) the lcds are getting burned by the kiosk app and its a major problem to the store.
Since i cannot make changes on the app itself i realized the best option was to create some kind of solution to this problem.
So i thought on creating an offline / local website in HTML that mimics the layout on the kiosk app and use some kind of anti-lcdburn jquery running along. (already have the code for the anti burn jquery).
My main problem is the kiosk app was really user-friendly on the configuration. Anyone on my store could easily change the data showing.
But in the other hand if i want to implement a static html website, anyone without html skills can't easily change the values.
My first thought was to create some kind of config file and find a way to import it. My main issue it i need to make this so that anyone with low-it skills can enter a page , change values and those values would show up on the kiosk page.
Something like a simple CMS but for a local file.
Any ideas?

Can you display the website inside an iframe?
If so, just make a file that loads the website in an iframe, with the anti screen-burn jQuery over the top.
Anything more than that would be overkill and rebuilding something that appears to already exist - have you considered asking the creator of the app to include an anti screen-burn option?
I got a little Question.
I'm working on an App, and for that I have to download an HTML File with the including CSS and Images.
And Yeah, there's an API for that (ASIHTTPRequest), but I wan't to publish my App to the App Store and I don't want to use 3rd party API's.
And Parsing the HTML code is a bit hard :(
And It would also work for me, if I could download the whole path of a URL.
For example:
I have this URL: http://example.org/smthg/.
At this path I have:
-index.html
-logo.png
-style.css
And I want to download all this files AUTOMATICALLY, and not every single file.
But I don't think, that you can find out which files are on the server, right? (without BruteForce).

You can use a UIWebView to download the content at the location and hold on to the WebView. You could also use NSURLConnection to download content at a URL if you want to save it unformatted and you have the URL's to the resources.
There's nothing wrong with using 3rd party frameworks, as long as they're good quality frameworks and you use them right. ; ) Apple just gives you the starting blocks to make an app, after all, and using open-source code can really speed up your project.
With that said, ASIHTTPRequest is a bit outdated and not well maintained. Instead, I'd recommend AFNetworking, which supports asynchronous downloads, background downloads, and blocks. See https://github.com/AFNetworking/AFNetworking .
Regarding your specific issue on downloading certain files, however, you might try creating a plist(s) on the server (if its yours that is, or else, bundled within the app perhaps) that would list all of the needed files and their download locations.
However, the issue you're liking going to quickly face- even if your app has all needed files downloaded, it still has to understand what to do with them. If its just HTML content, styles, etc, perhaps you can display it in a UIWebView ? However, be sure that your app is adding some useful functionality besides just being a web browser... (unless, of course, you're making an enhanced web browser... ;)

I have created a SWF file using Flash that loads an FLV file on my local development machine. When publishing the SWF file and generating the appropriate HTML, I can successfully load the video by opening the generated HTML page that Flash creates. However, when placing the generated HTML code in my View, the Flash is loading, but the video is not playing. I think it's a reference error to the location of the FLV file, but I've tried every combination I can think of. I placed the SWF and FLV in the corresponding View folder where I want the video to load, but to no avail. Does anyone have a working example that I can look at, or any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, I think so as well. Have you tried using Url helpers to reference static resources on your site, like
#Url.Content("~/Content/Videos/MySupervideo.flv")
The actual solution to this for me was this...
In your Flash file, the Component Inspector should point to the location on the web server where the FLV file is located...
Publish the SWF, copy the appropriate HTML to the View you would like the video to play in...
And just as Darin has pointed out, use the Helpers to write the path to the SWF file on your web server where it is located. The only difference is this (which I discovered using Google's 'Inspect Element' feature and then clicking on the 'Network' item, then clicking the path loaded on the left for the 'SWF'... on the right it stated 404 Status Not Found... why?

This obviously incorrect... so here is the correct way to use the Helpers...

Adding /path/favicon.ico to your cache.manifest, unless I'm misunderstanding the question.
If you mean a desktop shortcut, you can't do that through the app itself, have to use an external program.
