I have a Blog hosted on my site, the blog engine I choose is Subtext, I'm using Windows Live Writer as a content editor.
First of all I cannot post images in posts, and even if the posting action goes well, I cannot see images when I go on the post page. Second, how to setup Subtext to accept images well on posts?
The Subtext forum seems pretty quiet. Try Googling Subtext Live Writer, there seems to be plenty of people blogging about it :)

I am currently building a website (not for any profit but just as a personal project) that I want to be as a sort of "directory" with a bunch of different posts from different websites (think of it more like a tutorial website), however I want the posts to show up within my site and don't want to be directed away from my site because then you have to go back to the directory to find more posts.
My initial idea was to have all the posts internally just pop up with the content in an iframe, this worked great for smaller sites but a lot of big sites have iframe blockers (understandably to stop people making profit off of their content).
Is there a way I can embed these posts in my site?
I don't think that is possible. The only way to make this work, is if the post or element from a website supports iframe data. It is like when embedded a YouTube video into a website: they would give you the iframe code to put in your website. It will only work if the developers for the website have created iframe code to use.
For an example, this would be how you can Embed a YouTube video (only works if you are using a computer). This also may work for other platforms like Instagram or Twitter:
Step 1: Click share below the video
Step 2: Click the embed button
Step 3: Copy and paste the code in your website and style it however you want
If the websites you want the posts from have an RSS feed (or another kind of API) set up, you can build an RSS Reader app.
Note that a lot of sites won't expose their whole articles in the RSS feed but only summaries.
I am starting a new blog and was testing out sharing on linkedIn.
However, when I copy and paste the link into the share thing in linkedin, the blog doesn't show up properly.
Would you be able to help me understand what I would need to add to my blog post to make it show up correctly?
To add some more info: I do have a featured image set, and the blog post does have a title.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What I want:
The reason you are not seeing a "rich" link when pasting it is likely because you do not have your Open Graphs meta tags set up properly.
You can simply use a plugin with Wordpress to add these tags, like this one or you can learn how to program it yourself into your theme.
Facebook has a good debugger for tags, which you can use to check your links.
You can read more about how og tags are used by LinkedIn in their developer article.
I am working on a relatively simple website and I am required to incorporate some form of news feed into it, that can be easily updated without having to re-upload the site each time.
My solution to this currently is to use an <iframe> that displays content from a Google Blogger blog. However, the fact the iframe is smaller than the width of the blog I am asking it to display, makes the whole thing look very messy and unprofessional.
I have tried to remove the majority of the formatting from my blog, so it looks better in the iframe, however this also means the blog has no formatting when viewed fullscreen, or on the blogger site itself.
My question is:
I am wondering if I can manually retrieve the blog posts feed from blogger's database, and display them with my own formatting on my webpage, leaving the actual blog page untouched?
I hope I have explained that well enough, please comment if you require clarification.
Well, from my point of reference your problem is more of customising your blog. Well you can try this.
blogger-->Template-->Edit HTML(Instead of customisation)
There you will get messy HTML code. Find CSS Strips and edit as you want them. You can change variety from there. Gracius
I want to add a facebook-like "Wall" to my site, but to make it useful, I want members to be able to enter an external web site URL just like facebook, Linkedin and others do, and I need my site to extract a thumb and page description and display it in the member's feed on their wall. I know facebook tries to use OG tags, and I am not quite sure how LinkedIn and others do it, so my question is:
Are there any PHP or javascript libraries out there to grab, interpret and return the most likely image/description for any random web URL so that I can display that on the member's "wall" wthin my site? I have seen that there are plenty of RSS feed libraries, but I want it to work with any random web page and have it go to work as soon as the member clicks on the "Post" button to add it to their wall.
I know facebook does it immediately when a URL is added to a post, even before the post is published, but I don't need it to work that immediately.
I highly recommend trying out embed.ly. You didn't mention what type of platform you are using, but embed.ly has plugins for Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal, as well as developer code for javascript/jQuery, php, and a couple other languages. You can view it all here: http://embed.ly/docs.
You'll need to sign up for an API key, there is a free version, and if you need to embed more than 10,000 links a month you can start paying.
On a WordPress site I'm developing right now (not open to public, sorry!), I had a similar problem where I need to allow users writing posts or managing the home page to enter a link of just about anything, from static web pages to blog articles to videos.
I followed the instructions on the tutorial page and the functionality I needed was there. -- looks like I don't have enough reputation to post more than one link, but the path is
/docs/tutorials/jquery in the embed.ly site.
I'm using the Rich Snippets with two of my websites.
http://www.meow.fr
http://www.haikyo.org
They both have the same two authors: Jordy and Jing. What is amazing is that the Google+ photo show for Jing but not for Jordy (which is me). I have NO CLUE why, it's beyond my understanding. And Jing is lucky because she didn't set a thing ;)
Please check this Google result:

Check the first page, the second, the third... basically, she has a badge for all her articles, but there are none for mine.
I have no idea what to check, everything seems to be in order. There could be something wrong with my Google+ account but what? I don't know. Google is full of mysteries.
Of course I tried the Rich Snippets Tool which works perfectly for every pages.
I just checked out your site and how the author pages are linked. The links look good. I did notice though that your profile picture is of you (I assume) but with a camera covering most of your face. In googles page about authorship links, it states you should have "a good, recognizable headshot as your profile photo". I don't know for sure, and like you said Google is full of mystery, but you could update your profile picture to be a full, normal headshot and see what happens.
