I am using gradle publish to generate pom.xml files. Here is the full build.gradle project.
https://gitlab-odx.oracledx.com/oracle-opensearch-project/security-mirror/-/blob/oracle-2.3.0/build.gradle
Here is the snippet for build.gradle file for the dependency.
implementation ('org.opensaml:opensaml-saml-impl:3.4.5') {
exclude(group: 'org.apache.velocity', module: 'velocity')
}
But the pom file entry generates the following content:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.opensaml</groupId>
<artifactId>opensaml-saml-api</artifactId>
<version>3.4.5</version>
<scope>runtime</scope>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<artifactId>*</artifactId>
<groupId>*</groupId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
Could someone help what does this mean with regards to exclusion of dependency.
Does it all the transitive dependency and why the dependency not excluded in the generate pom.xml?

I only added this dependency and i am not able to start my application.
Can you explain why it is happening?
Without this dependency the spring-boot application is working. I tried to use 2.5.4 and 2.4.2 versions of spring-boot.
It is causing the following error:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.cloud</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-cloud-starter-feign</artifactId>
<version>1.4.7.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/web/ServerPropertiesAutoConfiguration.class] cannot be opened because it does not exist
I was facing same issue and I resolved it . in your pom , remove version from all spring-cloud dependency and then add below thing in your pom :
<properties>
<java.version>1.8</java.version>
<spring-cloud.version>2021.0.1</spring-cloud.version>
</properties>
and
<dependencyManagement>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.cloud</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-cloud-dependencies</artifactId>
<version>${spring-cloud.version}</version>
<type>pom</type>
<scope>import</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
</dependencyManagement>
Note : please pick version as per your requirements. thanks.
I am trying to apply reverse engineering with hibernate on a maven project using MySQL as a data base, I allredy installed the jBOSS from the market place and configuration properties are successfully created by I have problem with the java.lang.runtimeexception java.lang.reflect.invocationtargetexc
this problem is due with the missing of dependencies of your maven project to resorve that try to add those dependencies in your project
<dependency>
<groupId>hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate3</artifactId>
<version>3.2.3.GA</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<version>3.8.1</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>mysql</groupId>
<artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId>
<version>5.1.9</version>
</dependency>
Created an application using micronaut bom 1.2.10 version, along with software.amazon.awssdk:lambda:2.10.56 & software.amazon.awssdk:s3:2.10.56 dependencies which had functionality to retrieve data from s3 storage and used graal 19.2.1 to create a native image.
The native image is successfully created but when i try to access the endpoint it fails for below exception:
failed: org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactoryjava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory
and series of exceptions with specifically while creating S3 client.
The exception also had failure at below point:
failed: Could not initialize class software.amazon.awssdk.http.apache.internal.conn.SdkTlsSocketFactoryjava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class software.amazon.awssdk.http.apache.internal.conn.SdkTlsSocketFactory
Code for S3Client :
S3Client s3Client = S3Client.builder().region(getRegion()).build();
build-native-image.sh
${GRAALVM_HOME}/bin/native-image --no-server -cp example-function-*-all.jar
-H:IncludeResources="git.properties"
-H:IncludeResources="logback.xml"
-H:IncludeResources="application.properties" \
So this issue was resolved by adding below configuration in build.gradle:
allprojects {
configurations {
all {
exclude(group = "commons-logging")
}
}
}
and in the dependencies added:
compile group: 'org.slf4j', name: 'jcl-over-slf4j', version: '1.7.30'
I hope this helps.
I faced the same issue, when running tests, with the exact same NoClassDefFoundError but when using AWS sts and secretsmanager libraries. I could actually get it to work by just including the jcl-over-slf4j dependency, while the error happened when using the slf4j-api dependency. I did not need to exclude commons-logging. Snippet of dependency in maven pom.xml that worked:
<dependencyManagement>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>software.amazon.awssdk</groupId>
<artifactId>bom</artifactId>
<version>2.17.89</version>
<type>pom</type>
<scope>import</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
</dependencyManagement>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>software.amazon.awssdk</groupId>
<artifactId>secretsmanager</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>software.amazon.awssdk</groupId>
<artifactId>sts</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
<artifactId>jcl-over-slf4j</artifactId>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
I am trying to create a before hook for my cucumber-jvm tests. I have added the #before annotation on my method. I have also imported cucumber.annotation.Before in that file. However, the import is not resolved. I cannot figure out what is the maven dependency for this import. This is what I have in my pom file:
<properties>
<cucumber.version>1.2.2</cucumber.version>
</properties>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-java</artifactId>
<version>${cucumber.version}</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>info.cukes</groupId>
<artifactId>cucumber-junit</artifactId>
<version>${cucumber.version}</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
Found the answer. The import is cucumber.api.java.Before. It looks like in some previous version the import was cucumber.annotation.Before.
I am using Jersey (with Jetty) and Maven to implement a RESTful service. I am trying to send a JSONObject using JAXB, I have followed some tutorials such as: http://jersey.java.net/nonav/documentation/1.7/user-guide.html#d4e919 and http://www.vogella.com/articles/REST/article.html
So I just have a simple bean that I want to send as a JSON Object. I have followed all the steps, but I am not able to send the JSON Object (although I do recieve the XML format correctly). I obtain the following exception: com.sun.jersey.api.MessageException: A message body writer for Java class de.vogella.jersey.jaxb.model.Todo, and Java type class de.vogella.jersey.jaxb.model.Todo, and MIME media type application/json was not found
I have tried different solutions that I found around, but nothing seems to work.
I am wondering if I must have any dependencies missing or I have to implement a ContextResolver (although any tutorials use them for easy objects like these ones).
These are the dependencies that I have:
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<version>3.8.1</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<!-- Jersey -->
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.jersey</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-server</artifactId>
<version>1.11</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.jersey</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-servlet</artifactId>
<version>1.11</version>
</dependency>
<!-- Json -->
<dependency>
<groupId>com.sun.jersey</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-json</artifactId>
<version>1.11</version>
</dependency>
<!-- Jetty -->
<dependency>
<groupId>org.mortbay.jetty</groupId>
<artifactId>jetty</artifactId>
<version>6.1.26</version>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
Thank you very much
I have found the missing dependency:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.eclipse.persistence</groupId>
<artifactId>eclipselink</artifactId>
<version>2.0.0</version>
<scope>compile</scope>
</dependency>
And I had to add a repository as well to avoid missing archetypes errors:
<repositories>
<repository>
<id>EclipseLink Repo</id>
<url>http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?r=1&nf=1&file=/rt/eclipselink/maven.repo</url>
</repository>
</repositories>
