I am trying to identify whether this site "wkotool.nl" has an API.
I want to use this API to write a little script that can access the data for a specific location.
The site for example shows locations of groundwater wells and normally I would go to the site enter a specific location and click all points within a specific radius. From there I always need to type over the coordinates, names etc. This is very time consuming and I was wondering if somebody could show me how to access this specific API and retrieve data from it.
Thank you!

My application should allow users to store events and their locations and then perform search on them - so I need those locations in my database with their names and latitudes/longitudes. Google API doesnt allow storing anything else but place IDs so I have to find something else that can autocomplete/suggest places on UI and allow storing it my database.
Does anyone know such a good service?
You can simply add your points in your DB based on each point Lat & Long values. So when user is searching somewhere you have his current location(Lat-Long), Therefore you can search in your DB and get the distance of each saved point with current location and retrieve the results you want to show (i.e in JSON format).
In client-side use some auto-complete jquery library to show the nearby places and somethings like that (with additional information).
Google Map API has a service that you can show some custom marker on the map with your custom configuration like marker icon, description and etc. You can show your additional information in description as HTML format.
You can see some example here:

Hope these tips would be helpfull. Regards.
Suddenly I've found an answer that helps me:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/maps/hNc1OOU6Zm8
So I can use some Google's data under some conditions.
I am able to get restaurants list, timings, rating and displaying them in my Android application by using Google places API. This is API
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/search/json?location=13.0104611,80.2086226&
radius=10000&types=cafe|restaurant&hasNextPage=true&nextPage()=true&sensor=false&key=MY_API_KEY
As per my client requirement, Users should be able to give rating to a specific restaurant from my application, this restaurant got from above Googel API.
Kindly tell me whether possible or not giving rating to a restaurant from above API . Thanks in advance.
According to the documentation, using the Google Places API Web Service, the following place requests are available:
Place Searches return a list of places based on a user's location or search string.
Place Details requests return more detailed information about a specific Place, including user reviews.
Place Add allow you to supplement the data in Google's Places database with data from your application.
Place Photos gives you access to the millions of Place related photos stored in Google's Place database.
Place Autocomplete can be used to automatically fill in the name and/or address of a place as you type.
Query Autocomplete can be used to provide a query prediction service for text-based geographic searches, by returning suggested queries as you type.
The only request that allows to put data is Place Add, but according to the documentation it adds a place that is available immediately in Nearby Searches initiated by your application and also enters a moderation queue to be considered for Google Maps.
So the answer is that for the time being it's not possible to add reviews to Places using the Google Places API Web Service.
Is it possible to allow user to change the name of the streets in embedded map? Does any API provide such feature? For example, I want to allow users to make their 'alternative map' and get link to it.
With OpenStreetMap this is possible of course but requires some work and suitable hardware. You have to server your own tiles and provide access to the underlying database with the help of one of the many different editors or via a custom solution. If you don't want to serve the whole world you can also fill your database with one of the available extracts.
I've been developing a website where users can add a place (say a store in a city) and it is stored in a database. Now I would like to be able to display these places on a interactive map on my website. I got a bing maps developer key but it seems i can only display the data if i have the coordinates (lon/lat). Is that true? And if so, how do I get the coordinates automatically once a user adds new data?
As an example: You add Store XYZ in City XYZ, but you DON'T have to enter the coordinates. Now, this info is stored, but I don't have the coordinates..
Any help is much appreciated!
If you don't have any plans on allowing your users to insert place locations in a map or by filling some lat/long data, I suggest you to use google web services to get geolocation of those places. You'll need to format the input you send into something like an address to get it working properly though.

I am attempting to create an application that will allow a small group of users to subscribe" to a KML feed we produce. The users want to view the KML using Google Earth on their mobile devices which does not support "network links" (please add this...).
The KML contains several hundred different place marks with related information as wells about 30-40 polygons. I am using the HTTP protocol. So far, I can successfully perform the ClientLogin and get the authorization token, I can retrieve a list of user maps and find the one I am supposed to update. Now I'm stuck. Every single feature needs to be updated every time...I don't want to have to manually update every feature or delete each one and re-add. What I would really like is to just provide a KML document and tell it to just
replace ALL content in this map with this KML.....is this possible?
Summary:
Login, then...
Find a map with a specific name, then...
Replace that maps content with a KML file
I thought of just deleting the map and creating a new one with the
same name, but that might mess up the UI of the mobile device and
force the user to have to re-select the map every time I update them (every day). This is not completely out of the question, but it's certainly not ideal.
What is the best way to handle this?
Good question. I don't think the HTTP protocol allows for this in the way you suggested (login, find map, replace entire map with KML).
The delete and recreate method that you suggested in your comment might work, but you'll have to wait until issue 2590 is fixed to resolve the 400 BAD REQUEST problem. The workaround that Google suggest for this issue is to upload individual KML features as required, which really won't help you as that's exactly what you're trying to avoid!
