How can I redesign octave - octave

I downloaded octave and accidentally pressed some buttons which changed the design of the software to be more specific it doesn't look like how my professor at university was working with it . Could you please help me to fix it in order to look like how it did in the beginning?
I upload a picture of how it looks like now

OK, it appears you are only looking at the Editor window, which is normally docked with other windows like the command window, documentation, etc. It also appears to be maximized, hiding everything else.
In the upper right you see two icons, one that looms like an x, and one that looks like two overlapping squares (two windows). If you click the x, that should close the editor and you should be able to see the rest of your desktop including the rest of the octave GUI. If you cannot see octave anywhere, of you are in Windows try using ALT-Tab or clicking on Octave in the task bar to make the window visible.
In the main octave window there should be a "Reset Default Window Layout" menu item under the Window menu. That should restore everything to the default layout without having to go to the trouble of a full reinstall.
The following YouTube video doesn't exactly match your problem, but it does show how to change and restore the GUI layout:

How to activate the main window of PhpStorm after clicking its floating Find in Path window

Let me explain the situation.
I need to copy a lot of instances of a text inside a project of PhpStorm. So, I perform a 'Find in Path' action and a floating window appears with the matching results.
Now my problem is that after copying once from the floating window, if I click on another app window, then PhpStorm's main window/PhpStorm itself go to background, then if I want to copy text from the floating window again, I can not use any keyboard shortcut, I can not modify any line in the floating window because PhpStorm stays in background/inactive-mode even if I click on its floating window.
If I click anywhere in the PhpStorm except the main top-white bar of PhpStorm, then the floating window disappear, which causes me to perform the search again.
It is reducing my productivity a lot. Is there any way to make the PhpStorm active or bring it foreground when clicking its floated search window?
Please see the screenshot:

You are approaching the problem from the a bit wrong angle. There is a better solution than fighting the focus/foreground state.
There is a button in the bottom right corner of "Find in Path" window ("Open in Find" it says on your screenshot) -- click it and it will open search results in traditional / standard Search Results tool window (with grouping by folders/files, preview area etc)... so no floating and no auto closing on clicking somewhere.
P.S. Lots of people forgetting that results shown in this new "Find in Path" dialog/popup is still just a preview (TOP 100 matches only). Super functional (you can edit and stuff) but still preview only. This mainly applies to those who remember the way how this dialog (back then it was dialog window) looked before redesign (now it's more of a popup).
Because of the way how it is all presented now (results occupy majority of the popup space) people somehow automatically forgetting about "traditional" way of searching (clicking actual "Find" button to get search working) and focusing only on what they see on a screen right now.
This new "Find in Path" dialog/popup adds a lot of convenience for sure (you typed search text and results are straight away before your eyes). At the same time quite often you may see/hear "it does not show me all results" frustrated comments (as it shows top 100 .. and a single file may have 100+ hits in some cases) and alike. JetBrains needs to improve UX a bit in this area for sure.

ArcMap editor panel window not opening

I have installed ArcMap Desktop 10.5.1 on a new computer and have a problem. I have never experienced with any previous versions of ArcMap.
Pressing the button of the toolbar for the Editor
I can’t access the toolbar.
I also can see that the program notices that I have pressed the button by the ArcMap-window ‘flickering’ and I see the Editor-window that should open for less than a second at some occasions.
I have tried to see if it ends up hidden somewhere, but it does not seems like it.
Printscreen of the ArcMap window with the editor button
Does anyone know what can be the problem and how to handle it?
I have tried to search for answers both at the ESRI help-page, here in stackoverflow and in other broad search engines, but this doesn’t seem to be a common problem.
This problem can have many causes and there are 2 different ways to open the editor toolbar.
Try click Customize > Toolbars > Editor (I will add a pic for it)
Right-click while your mouse on the main menu. The toolbar will be open directly and check the editor. Same solution.
If you have still this problem you must see another reason for the problem.
For example, do you using a second monitor? If you using it maybe the editor toolbar coming from another monitor. Check your monitor/monitors also.
If you still have problems, please write. There is another solution.
However, I am not writing now because it will reset usage of interface.

Cursor not showing in Device Mode (Google Chrome)

So I'm trying to develop a webapplication and I'm trying to check it out on mobile.
I'm currently using Cordova and JQuery Mobile together with ripple.js to view my application in my browser.
The first issue (as far as I know) is that ripple.js will work best in Google Chrome, so this is my only test platform.
The second issue is that when I toggle Device Mode on, it doesn't show me the black dot (cursor) when I enter the rendered version.
I'll explain my situation or a scenario:
As an example I'll go to http://google.com
I press F12 to enter developer mode
I click the Toggle Device Mode button
I will see my cursor, until I enter the generated mobile canvas. While I would normally see a black transparant dot, I now see nothing.
I can however click and drag like I would normally do, but I can't see what I'm doing.
The things I already tried:
Reset all the flags back to default
Reset all developer tool settings to default
(edit) Installed a previous version of Chrome AND Chromium
So question is, how do I get my cursor back?
Extra: I'm using version 49.0.2623.87 m, but that's not related since my co-worker, has the same version and he sees the cursor.
(edit) currently I'm using the mouse option where I press Ctrl to see the circle which indicates where my cursor is, but this really has to be a temp solution.
(edit) I fixed it by doing a combination of things. So I'm not sure which exact thing fixed it. I removed a few programs that I installed after it still worked. I uninstalled about 4 of them. Also I did an update of my graphics card and then did a reboot. So it could be either the graphics card update, the software uninstall and/or the reboot.
I had the same issue. (note this question might be a duplicate of this one)
Following the advice on the Chrome forum here I changed the Quantization Range in my Intel HD Graphics Control Panel from "Default Range" to "Full Range". The touch pointer (grey circle) appeared immediately.
If that doesn't help you may have to change refresh rate too. Changing from 59p Hz to 60p Hz or some other refresh rate might help.
This should also help.
Open the mouse control panel.
Select the Pointer Options tab in the Mouse Properties window.
Then enable Display pointer trails option.
In case you don't like or are getting annoyed, like me, due to the trailer. Move the slider to the Short position and the trailer becomes near to non-existent or invisible.
I fixed it myself, yet I'm not exactly sure how I did it. I edited my original post and added the solution in the last paragraph.
Had the same on my Asus laptop with Chrome 66
Resolution that worked for me
Graphics Control Panel > Display > General Settings > Scaling > Change to Scale full screen.
OFF your Asus Eye Care Switcher.
I am posting this as answer because above mentioned answer didn't work for me but I had this issue when I had a monitor attached to my laptop, for development work. I played around with my display settings and discovered that IF the scale on my second monitor did not match the scale on my laptop, the mobile development mode cursor would disappear. (windows 10)
If this is an issue for anyone just go into Display settings -> Display -> Scale and Layout --> make sure that both your laptop/desktop matches the display scale of your second monitor.
Hope this will help.

How do I move PhpStorm tool windows to the right hand side?

A co-worker has PhpStorm configured to have the Project tool window on the left-hand side and the Structure tool window on the right-hand side (to the right of the editor). But he can't remember how he configured it that way, and I can't figure out how. I found a reference to the "right side" in the PhpStorm documentation (see "Side by side layout on the left/right"), but I can't find any instructions for moving a tool window to the right side.
Update: I'm using PhpStorm 7.1 on Mac OS X.
Regarding LazyOne's comment: the tool window is not draggable. And I've tried different modes (like Pinned Mode and Docked Mode), but it remains undraggable in the combinations of modes I've tried.
Hey Thats easy one just try to drag the part which is marked. Not the window
It is working on windows 7/ PHPStorm 7.1
[Update]
This wont work if you don't turn on tool buttons
Open the tool window you need from the main menu or a short-cut:
Right click on the appropriate tool window title (e.g. Structure PHP):
From the pop-up menu, select Move to, then select Right or whatever you need:

Monodevelop: can't drag widgets

I am trying to use monodevelop. Just at the beginning I came across an issue:
I was following a tutorial on building a Gtk application (http://monodevelop.com/Stetic_GUI_Designer). I was trying to drag a button from the Widgets Palette. Nothing happened. I'd been trying quite a few times without any luck.
After a break I launched monodevelop again and I simply placed a button on the window of the application. After that I removed it, dragged VBox container, and placed menu bar on the window, according to the tutorial instructions. I was pleasantly surprised.
By the second try the same problem occurred - I was not able to drag any widgets. Dragging was beginning, there was a “+” sign at the cursor and then - nothing was happening. I cannot figure out what happened by the first time, what the difference was. Have anyone had a similar problem? Monodevelop looks promising, but I can't go on with it. (I tried placing 'Fixed' container on the window, with no result - I could not drag it.)
(monodevelop v. 2.4, ubuntu 11.04, Polish language.
I did look for an answer to my problem, without much luck, that is why I post this question. The problem is described quite precisely. There is a probability that others encountered the same issue.)
You need to drag a container on the form first before you can add widgets to it. The VBox container is an example of a place where you can put your widgets.
If you want to place widgets where ever you want you can use the Fixed container. If you want things to align you can use the VBox, HBox or Table containers. Placing in a widget in one of the fields will automatically adjust the size of this field to fit the widget you have dragged into it.
So basically,
Create a form
Drag a container on the form
Drag a widget inside the container.
These widgets are not to be confused with the custom made widgets (in your Solution browser, right click the folder User Interfaces and click Add Widget...). These are like forms. I use these to create GUI's in advance so I can call these while the program is running.
FYI: if you want to create code for a widget (like a button) you can't just double click it like in Visual Studio. You need to select it, the go to the properties pane, and change the tab from Properties to Signals. You can then double click the "signal" to create the event for which you want to create code. For a button this is usually the Clicked event (somewhere at the bottom of the list, you'll need to open the Button Signals)
You can always visit the IRC channel of Monodevelop on irc://irc.gimp.org/monodevelop (IRC.Gimp.org #monodevelop)
I also sit in this channel and can help with smaller problems and I also still use Monodevelop 2.4.
