I need to have just one pdf on my website and HTML file. I dont need to be making them on my website I just need to add one pdf to a page and put text over it. Does anyone know of the best way to convert the pdf to HTML. I have found places like cloud converter but it adds so much other stuff on the page with the text that it is impossible to filter through all the css and javascript to find ways to put text over it without it covering it up or weird characteristics arising. I just need the text to be formatted relative to itself and on the page plainly in html. Is this even the right approach. Thanks!

Does anyone know a good way to generate an adaptive pdf? I am currently working on a project where I need to create a report where text and numbers are inserted into the text in a template. I, therefore, need the pdf to adapt to the length of these inputs. My initial thought was converting HTML to pdf, which works, it is just very time-consuming to write HTML for 14 pages. I have tried different ways to generate HTML, from canvas to adobe and different applications found online. Although this often looks beautiful in HTML, the HTML generated in this way does not convert to pdf without compromising the appearance of the report. At least not with my method of using wkhtmltopdf. Does anyone have any ideas on how to efficiently make a beautiful pdf report that adapts to the length of text input?

I need to embed both pdf-files and images in my html-page, however, due to the fact that my html contains a form and the user has to be able to decide whether he would like to upload a pdf-file or an image, I need a flexible solution regarding how to embed either a pdf-file or an image with the same code.
I read that I could possibly use the <object/> tag, however, I also read that that's not a very "elegant" and possibly slow solution.
I also considered to use <embed/> which, as of right now, is the best solution I could come up with. Unfortunately I couldn't find out about if it's a very conventional solution or not.
I can't seem to find very much resources regarding this topic online, hence why I'm asking here. Are there any other/better ways to embed a pdf- or image-file in an html page?
Edit: I want top display the pdf kind of like a file. Also, I don't want the user to be able to resize the pdf in the viewer

What are you using for the form (query language & database management)?
(PHP, Django, MySQL, MongoDB, etc)

I would recommend using embed or iframes. You are correct in thinking that the object tag is not an elegant solution, since you are dealing with images.

Easy to do with iframes. There's a lot of hate when it comes to iframes. As you seem to plan on using it as a tool to display a file within a page, then I believe using an iframe here is just fine.

After a fair bit of looking around, the only way I've found to get a signature on gmail is to copy the rendered HTML signature. Two problems arose: 1) I couldn't actually select my entire signature, and I can't even see what I am selecting like how it works with regular text and other's tutorials for gmail signatures. 2) If I press Ctrl+A on Firefox (Chrome only copies half, even when I use Ctrl+A), I can manage to copy my signature, but if I try to paste in the signature box, it glitches out and appears static in the top left of that specific Chrome/Firefox tab, like this (edited for privacy reasons):
And if I try to just go for it and email (after saving changes), no signature will be rendered at all. Not too sure what to do at this point, so any suggestions are welcome.

EDIT: This is the HTML I use to render the signature. As a side note, I do replace those placeholder file names with links from an image hosting site. I also add 3 tags around a few of the ""s.
Ultimately I found the solution after playing with various HTML and image options. The problem lies in my use of the <div> tag for the layout of the signature. I should have been using <td>. Using the slice tool in Illustrator will render the HTML with <div> tags, while using ruler guides in Photoshop and saving for web (I used the legacy option) will render with <td> tags. I'm going to do a little more digging and see if using guides in Illustrator will still render with <div> tags, but I'm not sure if this site is the place to discuss this piece of the problem.
EDIT: By the way, Illustrator just really likes <div>s, so if anyone is looking to do this same thing, use Photoshop's legacy Save for Web mode. It will generate the <td> tags for you.
I have tons PDFs that I need to convert to some structured format that I can interpret (HTML/XML/etc)

I have tried so far a lot of softwares that convert to HTML but all of them have no capabilities to separate the images, they just take like a printscreen of the page without the text and then use this image as a background in the html, using css to position the text

I have a bunch of PDFs so process each ones images manually is not an option. Does anyone knows any solution for this (even paid softwares)?
I had a similar problem a while back and ended up writing my own solution. It's called PDFX and it's free to use. It converts PDF to a structured-format XML and also renders any bitmap images (not vector graphics) found in the PDF separately.

I know something like this is possible, I'm pretty sure I'm just wording it wrong as I've been searching online for hours to no avail.
The same way an HTML page refers to the CSS file for a menu design, how can the HTML page also refer to a file (or the same CSS file if possible) to get the links information? So when I change the link information in that one file, it changes links on all HTML pages referring to it. Is this possible?
There is no simple way to do this. In general this happens server-side and is drawn from a database.
You CAN draw this data from a JavaScript file, using HTML templating without having to depend on a server. This may help.
