I have a Google Account and I am using Google Chrome. In Chrome I have synced all my data (Bookmarks, Passwords...). Next to my Account, I have a Chrome Profile for this Account. So I got some questions.
Are these Profiles only local on the PC [since on a different PC with the same Google Account everything (Bookmarks, PW) is synced but not the profile (like the profile name)]?
What happens if I delete the profile, will it delete all my synced Data as well or only the appearance of the profile...?
Like I said I figured out that the profile is not synced to every device, However Bookmarks and PW are synced.
Can you guys please help me figure that out, I am too scared to lose data by trying. Thanks in advance.
So basically I did some research and tried everything with a test account.
There are online profiles called the google-account and there are offline-profiles (like chrome profiles). If you sync the chrome-profile to the google-account. You can delete the chrome-profile without losing any data like (bookmarks, pw or history). If you do not sync the profile with the account you will lose this data if you delete the profile.
That means if you create a chrome-profile on a different device and sync it to the account it will affect your account if your change any bookmarks and pw... However deleting the profile does not affect them since its syned to the google-account and a delete of the profile is only local on the device u are using.
That's the reason why the name of the chrome-profiles ** are not synced** on all devices.
I hope i could answere the question good enough.

I want to automate some tasks that i do daily, to save time and effort.
Daily, when I switch on my computer the main things I do is login to Gmail and TFS server on chrome, and on Mozilla Firefox I open an other account(client account)(as these accounts are in different proxy i have to use two different browsers)
What I want is to automate this, like when I start my computer it has to automatically open and login to the sites on both Chrome and Mozilla
I have made Chrome and Mozilla to open the sites on its startup and placed the Chrome and Mozilla on windows startup(Shell:Startup) of windows,
By doing this each time I close and reopen chrome or Mozilla, it opens those sites again, I want those sites to open only on my system first boot up not every time I open them
Can I do this? anyyy suggestions are welcome please..!!
Use a Batch file with code like this:
start "Firefox" "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" http://site1.com http://site2.com http://site3.com
Then set the Batch file on windows startup - u now can set the startpage of firefox to google or sth. else. The Batch file will open 3 Tabs in this case.
For the login there u can use Cookies, so you dont get signed out. Do you have disabled the history?
Otherwise u can use a programm like EventGhost to capture some tasks. The Programm will emulate keyboard and mouse.
One solution would be to use a software like Easy macro recorder, or any equivalent, which records your actions and repeat them. I assume in this case that all elements will be at the same position on your screen.
If you want to automatize online tasks, you can make a php script with cUrl or use a Mozilla plugin like selenium, and simply add your browser to the start menu.

An 101 question about whireshark:
I first flushed my DNS and then started capturing my interface with wireshark.
Then I opened google chrome and searched for a webpage.
Finally, wireshark except the first query about the url makes some additional queries for related names/urls.
for example :
Searched for www.aueb.gr and dns makes an additional query for art.aub.gr.
Why is this happening?
Thank you in advance.
Try using console application for DNS resolution (for example nslookup) during wireshark capture, it should give you exactly what you want. Web browsers or other applications can try to resolve some additional DNS entries, which may be the cause of the issue you are seeing.
For example:
nslookup www.aueb.gr
As for the behavior of chrome, web browsers will try to fetch additional resources (like images, cascading style sheets, scripts) in order to be able to display the web page correctly. If it happens that the resource is hosted in some other domain (like art.aueb.gr), the web browser will have to first resolve that domain name - and that is why you see additional DNS queries.

A novice here. The support from mediaTemple and my current host have been quite unhelpful, so stackOverflow may be my hero.
My problem is that entering "www" before the domain and leaving it out direct to different servers.
The background on this is that I first registered the domain with mediaTemple and had a plan with their gridHosting, but after finding their service unsatisfactory, I cancelled my gridhosting plan and moved to another host. This problem occurs even after updating the nameservers. In short, the web server is hosted by proMinecraftHost, but the domain is registered under mediaTemple.
Support from both sides say it's due to dns and the nameservers needing 24-48 hours to update, but I'm fairly skeptical that it really is the cause.
Summarizing, www.mscraft.org directs to the correct server, but mscraft.org(mscraft.org) alone does not.
If anyone could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
It's possible you just have the old DNS info in your cache. Try clearing your browser's cache, and also flushing your DNS. On Windows you could do ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt. Also you could try pinging both addresses (with and without www). You should see the same IP address for both, as I got 198.154.108.107 when I tried them. In other words, I think it's working properly - you are just going to the old location because your machine is remembering too much.

When I run chrome, it creates a new process for each instance. Why would each process instance have access to the same session cookie? Even all the incognito instances share the same session cookie. How can I turn this off?
Why would each process instance have access to the same session cookie?
Because not sharing the cookie jar would cause nonintuitive behavior -- for instance, if you opened a site in one tab, logged in, then opened a new tab and navigated to that same site, you would be logged out in that tab.
How can I turn this off?
There are instructions on how you can set up multiple separate profiles here:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824?hl=en
As far as I'm aware, though, there's no way to use a separate cookie jar without a whole separate profile.
That's ridiculous, that incognito windows share anything. They should be completely separate independent instances. I struggle with this all the time, using multiple admin accounts to administer multiple client accounts, I have to log out of one in order to access another, and back and forth. I would expect that once new instance is created it knows nothing of the other, unlike tabs where I would expect to share it.
I don't use google accounts in this work, they have nothing to do with google so creating separate profiles is no use since it can be done only with google accounts.
Only way around it is to stop using Chrome.

I need to access a website from my bookmarks but i don't want to sync my bookmarks to another persons computer.. Once i was able to open the stored bookmarks in Google docs, but there is no way to access the bookmarks now.
Is there a way to access my synced bookmarks without syncing ?
The google documentation says nothing about being able to access them,
Also, when you go to "Manage accounts" in you google account it says:
Chrome sync Nothing interesting here.
Stop sync and delete data from Google
Chrome privacy policy
So I guess it's impossible to do through their website without syncing... You can try syncing, copying all the bookmarks you need, and stop the syncing.
If you have some kind of remote access to your computer you can go to the Chrome data folder, in Windows 7 it's located in:
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
Maybe try messing around there... there are files with the name "bookmarks" and they're not encrypted or anything...
