I'm trying to install the Access Database Engine 2010 on some PC's in our office.
On some PC's - not all, i receive the message that the installation cannot proceed due to some 64bit Office Products being installed (image attached below).
I have checked all Office versions on the PC by going into Help - About and all are 32bit. The 32bit package was downloaded from our Microsoft365 subscription portal.
We need to install the 32bit version as the 64bit wont work with our other application.
Is there a way where i can somehow find which component is 64bit? I have tried to find the differences between the PC's and am not having much luck.
thanks,

I was trying to create a SSIS package where i want to upload an excel file into my DB but its giving me an error that
Microsoft.ACE.Oledb.12.0 is not registered on your local machine
I have installed the 64-bit version of the MS Access Engine and it perfectly installed but after that i am still unable to create DTS package.
I have searched over the internet and found that there are two versions available for this and i have downloaded both and when i try to install the 32-bit version of the Access Engine it gives me error
You cannot install the 32-bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 because you currently have 64-bit Office products installed.
Please help me on this i am really looking forward to it.
Somehow late to the party but nevertheless:

To install the Microsoft ACE OLEDB Provider 32-bit on a machine running Office 2010 64-bit:
install using cmd with the following command:
$yourPath$\AccessDatabaseEngine.exe /passive
This solution no longer works. It seems to have changed so instead of /passive, now the install requires /quiet
This solution works when installing ACE 32bit on with 64bit Office $yourPath$\AccessDatabaseEngine.exe /quiet
Thank you sir
I'm having this issue to and I tried to use the /quite but it's stating that The system cannot find the path specified.
I've written an app which uses OLE DB, and I've encountered the error from the title. I've installed the Access Database Engine as suggested in this question and all had become work well. However, I want to distribute the app among some users to their locale machines and I have been reported such a error from the testers which do not have this util installed.
Is there any way to embed the Access Database Engine into my binary as dll or, maybe, into installer? I do not want to say "to use my app, install that util please"
if your end-user computer does not have MS office or MS Access installed, you won't be able to use the ACE.OLEDB driver UNLESS you install the basic access runtime/databse engine. However, if your end-users have 64bit windows and 32bit office, you will get the same error. To over come this issue you need to change your app target platform to x86.
if you are using visual studio, on additional way would be to add "AccessDatabaseEngine.exe" as one of your prerequisite which will be then installed along with your software.

I have installed Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, Update roll-up 14 in my VPC.
While I try to install Microsoft Dynamic CRM Reporting Extensions using SetupSrsDataConnector.exe, I get an error saying,
Setup cannot proceed because an error occurred while copying installer files to the local system: The upgrade cannot be installed
by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded
may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the
program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your
computer and that you have the correct upgrade For additional details
see logfile.
Does anyone know what is wrong? I tried several instances but they all don't work either. I can access my SSRS server by going to http: //SSRS-Server/Reports and it will give a list of all services running there.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Is there enough disk space for the installation?
Are you installing the update on the SQL machine or the CRM machine?
Are you installing the correct version? CRM 2011, CRM 2013? 64bit, 32bit?
Could you post the results from the log file?

Microsoft Outlook 2010 with Business Contact Manager worked on my Vista laptop but, laptop died. Now, have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 tower since November. Loaded Office 2010 x86 just fine but, trying to install BCM, failed to install SQL Server Express.
So, now I can't get SQL Server 2008 to install; the Engine, that is, all supporting files install fine. I read that if you can install SQL Server 2008 with the ID=MSSMLBIZ, BCM will pass over the server install, and continue with install. I read that the issue may be SQL Server x86 on Win 7 x64. So, I tried SQL Server x64. Every time I get an Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.
Install always fails at step SqlBrowserConfigAction_install_ConfigNonRC_Cpu32. So, ran as Admin, from Admin log-in, from the root directory in the Admin log-in, changing permissions on the Security Registry KEY, turned off firewall, all suggestions still failed.
Coincidentally, I have an Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB2732487) that has failed to install, as well.
I think your Windows 7 is not proper installed, perhaps while installing Windows Updates.
But as for the
SqlBrowserConfigAction_install_ConfigNonRC_Cpu32
I dont understand: ConfigNonRC , in Microsoft terms stands the RC for Release Candidate.
If i was you i should try this:
Open CMD as Admin
Typ: "sfc /scannow"
When that's ready your pc may restart.
Now at CMD typ: "sfc /verifyonly"
If it shows any errors, try "sfc /scannow" again.
If it does not show any errors, try to install Windows Updates. All of them.
If this works, delete all existing SQL apps. And install the Core first.
If the updates can't install, You can try to re-install Windows 7 what i basically should not do and just use MySQL. A lot faster & reliable these days.
I hope this will fix your problems!
I was running VSExpress 2010 C# and SQLExpress 2008 on 32b XP. Due to a failure I am now on Win7 64bit. I have reinstalled VSExpress C# (64b). I installed SQLExpress (64b) however my application uses the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 driver to connect to a Office 2007 (32b) database. I could not get the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 to load on SQLExpress (64b).
What do I need to do to get Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 working again in SQLExpress? Do I need to run the 32bit version? (I have downloaded it but am having problems getting it to install so I am asking while I uninstall all of my SQLExpress)
Thanks for the help. (I saw a lot of similar issues addressed but could not find a solution for my specific problem)
I think this post has the answer you're looking for -- download 64-bit version of ACE OLE DB driver. However, apparently it requires installing 64-bit version of Office as well.
Otherwise go and install WoW-enabled 32-bit version of SQL Server 2008 Express. Go to this download page and download SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe (note: the one without 32 in the file name). It should install on 64-bit system.
I had the same problem and couldn't install the 64 version because I have 32 bit office installed as well (so the 64 bit installed terminated). I changed the build of my program to x86 instead of AnyCPU and the 32 bit ACE worked as given in this Stack Overflow question
If you are trying to use the 32bit version you will probably need to install the 32 bit version of the Microsoft Office Database engine. However if you have 64bit office installed this will show a message saying that 64bit is already installed.
If you install the Microsoft Office Database engine using the "/PASSIVE" command line argument it will install without the prompt, and then you can use the 32 bit ACE.OleDB.12 driver.
Beware in some situations this can cause complications with Office 64bit.
I had to install the Access 2007 Runtime to fix this. Here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4438
