how to make a fixed grid layout with bootstrap? - html

I need to make a fixed grid layout which i will then customize, the webpage have to have just full screen height and mustn't be V scrollable.
The page mocukup looks like this:
So i was trying to archieve it by using bootstrap grid system like this:
.content {
background-color: rgb(0, 119, 255);
}
.content .dettagli {
background-color: aquamarine;
}
.content .logo {
height: 100px;
background-color: rgb(255, 0, 0);
}
.content .action-bar {
height: 200px;
background-color: rgb(246, 255, 127);
}
.scontrino {
background-color: rgb(255, 127, 127);
}
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge" />
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, shrink-to-fit=no"
/>

<link rel="stylesheet" href="asssets/css/index.css">
</head>
<body>
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-9 content">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-12 logo">
</div>
<div class="col-sm-12 dettagli">
</div>
<div class="col-sm-12 action-bar">

</div>
</div>
<div class="col-sm-3 scontrino">

</html>
But actually the row and colls wrap the content so are not shown, while how can i set them immediatly to cover the entire page?
the logo col should cover only 100px of height while the action-bar 200px...
EDIT i'm trying to set 100% height to dettagli but it takes more space and the page become scrollable, while that 100% have to fit between .logo and .action-bar
<div class="container-fluid h-100">
<div class="row h-100">
<div class="col-sm-9 content">
<div class="row h-100">
<div class="col-sm-12 logo">
</div>
<div class="col-sm-12 dettagli h-100">
</div>
<div class="col-sm-12 action-bar">
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-sm-3 scontrino">
</div>
</div>
</div>

Here an example of what I am trying to explain you in comment. You cannot apply % height everywhere, except if you start from html.
So here an example working. I let you understand.
.content {
background-color: rgb(0, 119, 255);
}
.height-fix-on-row{
height:300px;
/* You can try with different height as below
height:20vh;
height:20em;
height:20rem;
*/
}
.content .dettagli {
background-color: aquamarine;
}
.content .logo{
background-color: rgb(255, 0, 0);
}
.content .action-bar {
background-color: rgb(246, 255, 127);
}
.scontrino {
background-color: rgb(255, 127, 127);
}

how to make my cards to be in the center but always start on the left side?

I want to make a screen with buttons responsively, these buttons are square, they should be next to each other, but as soon as the line breaks they should start on the left side, but always stay in the center. I'm using bootstrap-5, but I don't know how to do that. I tried with flex-box.
My code:
.box {
height: 65px;
width: 60px;
background: black;
}
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<title>Bootstrap demo</title>
<link href="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#5.2.2/dist/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" integrity="sha384-Zenh87qX5JnK2Jl0vWa8Ck2rdkQ2Bzep5IDxbcnCeuOxjzrPF/et3URy9Bv1WTRi" crossorigin="anonymous">
</head>
<body>
<div class="d-flex flex-wrap gap-4 w-50 border border-primary">
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
</div>
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#5.2.2/dist/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js" integrity="sha384-OERcA2EqjJCMA+/3y+gxIOqMEjwtxJY7qPCqsdltbNJuaOe923+mo//f6V8Qbsw3" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
</body>
</html>
Nest the flexbox in another div. Then give it the mx-auto class to center itself in the middle of the parent div.
Now give the parent div the class w-50 and change the width of the flexbox to the width you want.
.box {
height: 65px;
width: 60px;
background: black;
}
<link href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/bootstrap/5.0.2/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<div class="container px-5 border border-primary">
<div class="d-flex flex-wrap gap-4 w-75 mx-auto">
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
<div class="box">
</div>
</div>
</div>
Based on my small knowledge in bootstrap I think you should add p-5 as an example to your container div .
P-(number between 1 & 5) representing the padding so in this way the boxes will have the space you want to stay away from the border.
.box{
height:65px;
width: 60px;
background: black;
}

how to change width using bootstrap during responsiveness?

I'm trying to change the width of the div elements during responsiveness.
so when I reduce the screen width to around 600px the div elements should increase their width to 50%.
Now I noticed no breakpoint for w-* class, and was wondering is there any way to do it??
also I'm allowed to only use bootstrap and avoid as much as possible to add my own CSS.
can any one help??
here is the code snippet
<!DOCTYPE html>

<div class="card bg-light">

</div>
<div class="flex-grow-1 ">
</div>
<div class="flex-grow-1 ">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
you can do it with pinch of jquery code like below,
if(jQuery(window).width() < 601px){
jQuery('.your-div-class').addClass('w-50');
}
else {
jQuery('.your-div-class').removeClass('w-50');
}
Please make sure you have included jquery in your page as well.
Bootstrap's break points are Small 540px and Medium 720px. So you could try the following. This example defaults to 5 blocks per row, and then 2 blocks per row on a small break point.:

h3 {
color: rgb(255, 255, 255);
}
h4 {
color: rgb(255, 0, 0);

.container {
display: flex;

Bootstrap 3 merge rows and columns

I can't figure out what is the problem with my code. I'm very new in bootstrap my problem is kinda trivial. One of my field is out of position. I have tried a different route by making only one row and instead of increasing the div sizes I reduced them, but it had the exact same problem. (Run the code in full screen mode).
Please if you can help me out!

With some nesting and pull-right on the appropriate columns you can reverse the float:left and make it work (albeit a hack!)...

Your unhappy smiley box is off because your setting different heights for the containers. I altered your code to explain how you work with BS grid system. See comments.

Bootstrap - Move rows to bottom of page

I am new to Bootstrap, and would like to move my box2 and box3 divs to the bottom of the column on the right side of the page. I can't seem to work out how to do this without resorting to an empty row that is above box2 and box3. Here is my current html:

<div class="col-lg-12">
<div class="box3">Credits</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
Is there a way of doing this using the Bootstrap grid?
Any help is much appreciated!
Try this
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" />
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"/>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css" />
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.12.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
var bottom1 = $('.box1').outerHeight(true);
var bottom2 = $('.right-sides-columns').outerHeight(true);
var topheight = bottom1 - bottom2;
$('.right-sides-columns').css("margin-top", topheight + "px");
});
</script>
<style type="text/css">
.jumbotron {
text-align: center;
padding-bottom: 5px;
}
h2 {
margin: auto;
}
.box1 {
min-height: 450px;
border-style: dotted;
}
.box2 {
min-height: 150px;
margin-bottom: 10px;
border-style: dotted;
}
.box3 {
min-height: 30px;
border-style: dotted;
}
</style>
</head>
<body >
<div class="jumbotron" >
<h2>Lyrical</h2>
</div>
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-6 col-lg-offset-3">
<div class="box1">FORM</div>
</div>
<div class="col-lg-3 right-sides-columns">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-12">
<div class="box2">Description</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-lg-12">
<div class="box3">Credits</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
Not a specific bootstrap answer, but a more general approach:
It is possible to push an element to the bottom of it's parent with flexbox's align-self.
.flex-row {
display: flex;
flex-direction: row;
align-items: flex-start;
height: 300px;
}
.flex-col {
background: rebeccapurple;
}
.flex-col--end {
align-self: flex-end;
}
<div class="flex-row">
<div class="flex-col">
<p>Lorem Ipsum</p>
</div>
<div class="flex-col flex-col--end">
<p>Dolor Sit</p>
</div>
</div>
