Html - Images won't show up (relative link) - html

I worked on a Website locally and it works well. When i put it online, images won't show up.
My html file is in "folder" & images are situated in "folder/images".
When I made my website, I used this link to put images on my html code:
<img src="images/firstimage.png">
I understand the issue here is the path I used. I would like to know if there is a way to manage this without rewriting all links 1 per 1 on my html code ?
Sorry if for this noobish question this is my firsts hours of coding. Any documentation related would be appreciated.
Greetings

Use Ctrl+R (not in every html-editor, I often use that in IntelliJ) to replace the marked text with the newly entered text. So you can write "images/" (it will marked ALL text where it occurs) to overwrite ALL marked text with following: "folder/images/"

How to make many pages in vs code

So I made 200 line code for a website I'm making and then I made a button to open another page that i will code as well but here is the problem I don't know how to start another page in vs code please help I'm beginner at coding I tried searching in YouTube but nothing helped
It can be hard to learn how to start - but we've all been there. You can do it!
For a brief starter, in VSCode, you can try this, and start learning from this point.
In your first HTML file button, ideally you'll have HTML similar to this: <a href="/file2.html"/>. In VSCode, just create file2.html in the same directory as file1, and add some HTML. It should populate.

I have an assignment for my class, and it involves us creating a dummy website about anything using HTML and CSS. I learned the basics of HTML but this is something I don't understand...
On visual studio code, I basically have a total of 12 folders, and 14 files. From my main page (index.html) I have created a webpage that has all the human body components and also has a little link the viewer can access if they want to look at a more "in-depth" view of the components within that particular human body system. But when I try to add a picture within another folder using the same way I have done for the home page, It doesn't provide an image.
I use this <img src="Images/my_picture.png"> , but for some reason it isn't working anymore
I will provide a screenshot of my code and the result, someone please help me out!
as you can see within the folder "Integumentary_sys_comp" I have a line of code at line 40 stating I want to insert an image. I am pretty sure this is correct as I have used it before for the index.html page.
This is the result -
As you can see there is no image!
Youhave to add "../"
src="../Images/my_picture.png"
Yes the img syntax is correct but I think the src is wrong. I cant see it among the files you have under the image folder. You may need to check again and add the correct file.
Also, it is necessary to fill the 'alt' so whenever ur image doesn't load, it will tell your users what kind of image is contained there.

Do I need to update CSS to upload new images?

I want to start by saying that I did not build said website. I was given FTP access to the site and can download it's entirety.
What we are interested in is replacing the images as they are rather outdated.
If I replace the images (naming them as the ones that exist as of right now), they update just fine.
But adding more does not. Lets say that files are numbered 1-6. If I replace those with the same name, they change. If I add 7.jpg, for example, it does not show in the gallery.
Do I need to update the CSS code or upload it again?
I can provide the code in turn.
Without further details it's hard to tell what the problem is, but it looks like either someone hard-coded CSS or hardcoded HTML. But I would really need to see the code.
Please try to copy/paste at least the code for file that should render the images.
Your gallery should contain new images' name.
if you upload 7.jpg, this one is not in your gallery I guess.
I think it will not matter if you update the CSS.
A priori, to clear any doubt if the images are in cache, I suggest you refresh the page by typing ctrl + R or open a tab in incognito mode.

new picture not registering

first time poster and html noob here.
For a few hours now ive been trying to use a background picture. I downloaded an image I wanted to use, and set about trying to code it.
No matter what I tried, the image would not display. However, when I tried one of the other images I was using, it displayed just fine.
I tried using just the first letter of the existing image, and the program immediately suggested the image in a dropdown, as well as several other images with names starting with the same letter. However when I tried to use the new images first letter, it did list options, but none of them were the image I had downloaded.
I tried renaming the image, but still no luck.
I havnt included any code just yet, since this seems to not be related to the code itself (Since other images display just fine). Has anyone run into something like this before? Extensive google searches did not yeild anything for me.
In case it matters, I am specifying the background image as part of the Body css.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Please check to ensure your preferred image is located in the same parent folder as your htlm.
As #Patrick Falvey says but if the picture is not in the same folder remeber to / before your file path :)

monotouch: Image not displaying in email

I have some html that has an image in a table. The table displays fine in a UIWebView. I take that same html and send it in an email (using MFMailComposeViewController). The code snippet to build the html is:
html += "<tr><td><img src=\"reading.png\" align=left></td><td>"
The table is created properly, but the image just has a question mark in a blue box. (Obviously, it can't find the image, but why?)
How do I fix this?
The path "reading.png" is not found, that is the reason why you do not see the image.
There are in fact several potential solutions.
1) put the image to the web URL something like http://yourweb address.com/reading.png, this works well and will show, all the clients supports this and user just need to click to "show images" if he/she has it disabled by default in the email client.
2) second solution is to put the specific image representation to the img tag, you can do so by opening the file, reading its content and adding it as base64 data to the src of the img, there are plenty of samples for this.
3) third is to add it as attachment to the email. Again plenty of samples here and on the web how to do that.
Conversion of the sample code from ObjectiveC is simple to Monotouch.
Hope this helps.
