So I recently installed Telerik UI for ASP.NET MVC and it seems to have totally bodged my SSDT/SSRS projects in visual studio. The projects work but can take upwards of 20-30 seconds to save making them basically unusable.
Originally we thought this issue may have been have been something to do with ReSharper however having contacted their support and done some captures they said that it looked like Telerik was the culprit.
Extract from the capture trace here...
Having uninstalled Telerik completely low and behold my save speeds go back to normal (less than a second).
Now full disclaimer - we are not using the most up to date version of Telerik (it's a slightly older version 2018.2.620) as this is the version we are licensed for which I would like to think wouldn't make a difference but putting it here just in case!
Has anyone else experienced this issue with SSRS projects? It's strange as, as far as I can tell, there is nothing in the project that should be referencing any MVC/Telerik code.
We have tried this on multiple machines and all seem to suffering the same problem although looking at Google I can't find anyone else reporting the same issue... Annoyingly I can't post of the telerik forums directly as they only let you do that if you have an active account...
If anyone can assist I would really appreciate it!

I was having trouble finding the work offline option in SSIS. I was receiving a suggestion from visual studio that I should try to set Work Offline to off. I am going to answer this myself.
Make sure you are on the control flow tab and right click and you will see the option to work offline or not.
They took away the dropdown of SSIS in my version of visual studio (Installed September 2021). I know it might seem simple but it took me some time to find it and the internet was not helpful in my searchings.
I want to read characteristics from a service using WinRT API for BLE. Ihad some working code, but in my last question (Bluetooth low energy characteristic access only works once) i was told my API was too old and wont work on every PC. My issues now are:
I can't get the sample code working. Research on this issue didn't give me answers, so I'm asking here. In the image you can see part of the code and some error messages.
The code doesn't seem to read characteristics, but I'm really unsure how to read them with this new API.
You can take a look at the code here: https://github.com/urish/win-ble-cpp/blob/master/BLEScanner/BLEScanner.cpp
Im using Visual Studio 2019 and i have installed UWP, WinRP C++, and everything else I think I need.
Thanks in advance
I've got a small experimental project on the go that uses an embedded system to show web pages.
The major draw back is that the embedded system doesn't have any form of server on it (No lovely web server languages allowed).
My current setup for testing any potential winning solution is locally (Just in a document C:/users/me/test/index.html) and then also testing it in wamp.
I've looked into using JS or JQuery but evey resource i've found only ever works when I test it within wamp, which isn't a viable solution for me.
I have a couple of questions:
Is it even possible to read an XML document without any form of
server technology?
If so, could someone post some resources please? I've found a lot of similar topics to mine, but none really cover my predicament.
If this isn't possible, are there any other technologies I could use to give the same output?
Thanks
I have a web server running Windows Server R2 Standard, and am experiencing the issue described in this blog post: http://www.hanselman.com/blog/BugAndFixASPNETFailsToDetectIE10CausingDoPostBackIsUndefinedJavaScriptErrorOrMaintainFF5ScrollbarPosition.aspx
In short, .Net is failing to recognise IE10 and is treating it as a downlevel browser without javascript support - if I understand the issue correctly.
I tried the following popular solutions:
Installed both hotfixes for .Net 2 and 4.
Manually updated the browser definition files in the .Net framework config folder and ran aspnet_regbrowsers.exe.
Put the new browser definition files in the App_Browsers directory.
Finally I upgraded to .Net 4.5 which solved the issue for .Net 4 sites running on the server, however .Net 2 sites are still experiencing the issue.
Because this is a live web server it has a lot of windows updates that have not been installed. I thought maybe there was an update that would address the issue. So I've taken a look at the updates but none of the descriptions seem to address the issue, so I cannot justify installing them and potentially causing more problems.
Does anyone have any other solutions or possible reasons why this issue just won't go away?
I have the same problem, and I haven't been able to figure out why none of the fixes work. However, I did find a workaround that might work for you: Setting the Page.ClientTarget attribute to "uplevel" overrides .NET's browser capability detection. Have a look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.page.clienttarget.aspx for more information.
Have come through many microsoft hot fixes, they were working in local environment, but in the live server there was no result.
Setting up Page.ClientTarget = "uplevel" (preferably in a header or footer page) has really solved the issue. I think this the best solution, as your .net application may not detect any other browser in future. But then we may have to wait and see, if this fix has any side effects.
I am want to use a Telerik RadTextBox inside a MultiView in ASP.NET 2.0. Just dragging a RadTextBox into a view and running the page generates a run-time error of the good old favorite "Object reference nto set to an instance of an object". It seems to be breaking on the Telerik.WebControls.RadInputControl.SaveViewState() call.
Has anyone any ideas on how to get this to work?
Thanks!
This happened to be an issue with RadInput for ASP.NET in one of my previous projects at some point. I got latest from the Telerik site and the exception was gone.
Btw, I switched to the ASP.NET AJAX version of the control already and encourage you to try it out. It is more advanced and have RadInputManager as an addition to speed up the performance when having many textboxes on the page.
