Putting text next to boostrap input not working - html

So I have a form and I'm using the Bootstrap framework and on every input type of this form I want to have text on the left showing what the input is for but what happens the text gets above the input like this:
Picture of how forms looks like right now:
<div class="container">
<br>
<center> <h3> Jongere toevoegen </h3> </center>
<br>
<?php echo form_open('index.php/Addjongere/Add_jongere'); ?>
<form>
<div class="form-group row">
<label>Roepnaam:</label>
<input class="form-control" name="roepnaam" id="roepnaam" placeholder="Roepnaam" type="text">
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<label>Tussenvoegsel:</label>
<input class="form-control" name="tussenvoegsel" id="tussenvoegsel" placeholder="Tussenvoegsel" type="text">
</div>
<div class="form-group row">
<label>Achternaam:</label>
<input class="form-control" name="achternaam" id="achternaam" placeholder="Achternaam" type="text">
</div>
<div>
<button class="btn btn-primary" name="Add_jongere" >Toevoegen</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
Does anyone know what I can do?
Any kind of help is appreciated

Is this what you are trying to get? Remove the class="form-inline" from your form and to your form-group divs add class row.
I also added a container around the form to keep it in a good size.
edit
I forgot to add class="col-sm-4" to the labels and class="form-control col-sm-8" to the inputs. So they were not next to eachother.
label{
text-align: center;
}
h3, .container button{
display: block;
margin: 0 auto;

You can put the entire form inside a responsive col, and adjust the label/input widths accordingly...

Html: Bootstrap form alignment in center

I'm currently working on a simple login system and I have some Front-End difficulties. I'm trying to make a center-based login form with some inputs and a button. So basically right now I was able to make few inputs inside the center, but when I tried adding a button, then I got result like this:
Note: I need the button to be in the center of the form. Also, am I doing the form in the center correctly?
My HTML code:
<div class="container">
<h1 class="page-header text-center apie_m_cga">~ Support Desk ~</h1>
<hr>
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="form-group col-md-3 col-md-offset-7 align-center ">
<br>
<input type="text" id="inputUsername6" placeholder="Username" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<input type="password" id="inputPassword6" placeholder="Password" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary btn-lg">Login</button>
</div>
</div>
<br>
</div>
add text-center class to the div that contain form-group class:
<div class="container">
<h1 class="page-header text-center apie_m_cga">~ Support Desk ~</h1>
<hr>
<div class="row justify-content-center ">
<div class="form-group col-md-3 col-md-offset-7 align-center text-center">
<br>
<input type="text" id="inputUsername6" placeholder="Username" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<input type="password" id="inputPassword6" placeholder="Password" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary btn-lg">Login</button>
</div>
</div>
<br>
</div>
Just add a text-align: center; to your form-group
.form-group {
text-align: -webkit-center;
text-align: center;
}
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-Gn5384xqQ1aoWXA+058RXPxPg6fy4IWvTNh0E263XmFcJlSAwiGgFAW/dAiS6JXm" crossorigin="anonymous">
<div class="container">
<h1 class="page-header text-center apie_m_cga">~ Support Desk ~</h1>
<hr>
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="form-group col-md-3 col-md-offset-7">
<br>
<input type="text" id="inputUsername6" placeholder="Username" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<input type="password" id="inputPassword6" placeholder="Password" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary btn-lg">Login</button>
</div>
</div>
<br>
</div>
You just need to add .text-center add on parent DIV
<div class="container">
<h1 class="page-header text-center apie_m_cga">~ Support Desk ~</h1>
<hr>
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="form-group col-md-3 col-md-offset-7 align-center text-center">
<br>
<input type="text" id="inputUsername6" placeholder="Username" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<input type="password" id="inputPassword6" placeholder="Password" class="form-control mx-sm-3 text-center">
<br>
<button type="button" class=" btn-primary btn-lg">Login</button>

I'll suggest you make the button the same length with the input fields, it'll make the form look better.
Try this:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0/css/bootstrap.min.css">
<div class="container">
<h1 class="page-header text-center apie_m_cga">~ Support Desk ~</h1>
<hr>
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="form-group col-md-3 col-md-offset-7 align-center ">
<br>
<input type="text" id="inputUsername6" placeholder="Username" class="form-control text-center">
<br>
<input type="password" id="inputPassword6" placeholder="Password" class="form-control col-12 text-center">
<br>
<button type="button" class="btn col-12 btn-primary">Login</button>
</div>
</div>
<br>
</div>
I think the class of your button "btn-lg" is influenced in position. Basically there is no any special errors on your script except for it.
Please remove it in class and try again

Form file doesn't align with rest of form

So im having some issues trying to add in a file selection into my bootstrap(4.1.3) form. It looks off from the rest of the form
I tried using the example file forms from getbootstrap.com though they look even further streched out, this is the closest i could get it myself
<!-- this one works just fine -->
<div class="form-group row">
<label for="titel" class="col-4 col-form-label">Titel van Email</label>

<div class="col-8">

Re-
This Question-
Centering Login Form Bootstrap
Is not a solution for my problem, because if u run the codes given and read the requirements, then u can easily find this.
More- My problem is not centering a div, My problem is centering a div inside of a div which is already centered horizontally and vertically.
Add col-md-offset-3 to the first element of a row in your form
All bootstrap tables have 12 columns -> your form's width is 6 cells -> so you have 6 cells left -> push your form 3 cells and you have 3 on each side
html,
body,
.container-table {
height: calc(100% - 50px);
}
/*Making a div in center*/
.container-table {
display: table;
}
.vertical-center-row {
display: table-cell;
vertical-align: middle;
}

Why don't you simply simply use bootstrap columns ?
With this way the alignment of text and button inside your login div won't be affected, and you don't need any extra CSS :
<div class="container row">
<div class="col-md-4"></div>
<div class="col-md-4">
Your login form HTML here ...
</div>
<div class="col-md-4"></div>
</div>
Please try this:
Put you button inside a div like:
<div class="row">
<button name="remember_me" type="submit" class="center-block btn btn-primary">Sign in</button>
</div>
and assign text-align:center to that div.
html,
body,
.container-table {
height: calc(100% - 50px);
}
body{top:50%;}
/*Making a div in center*/
.container-table {
display: table;
}
.vertical-center-row {
display: table-cell;
vertical-align: middle;
}
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.6/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-1q8mTJOASx8j1Au+a5WDVnPi2lkFfwwEAa8hDDdjZlpLegxhjVME1fgjWPGmkzs7" crossorigin="anonymous"><script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.3/jquery.min.js"></script>

How to add spacing between the words in a <p> tag and align them with text boxes in the next div

The following is the code for the form which I wrote:
<div class="container-fluid" id="unlabelled">
<p class="bg-primary">Items<span>Quantity</span><span>In Kit</span></p>
<form>
<div class="form-group col-lg-5">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="unlabelled-items" placeholder="Enter code or description">
</div>
<div class="form-group col-md-2">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="quantity" placeholder="Enter Quantity">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="checkbox" id="in-kit">
<button class="btn-primary" id="add-btn">Add</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
I am using bootstrap here. And I have the top paragraph heading with a class="bg-primary" which gives a nice background for the heading. I have two text input fields, a checkbox and a button. I want to align the text in the above paragraph with these fields.
https://imgur.com/XinA1kT
I want the Items text to be aligned in center with the first text field, Quantity with the second text field and the In kit with the check box.
As you can see in my code, I added span tags around the text. I experimented with it by adding margin properties to these span tags, but it didn't work properly. I tried a bunch of it works okay but I atleast need 15 to 20 of them which even didn't solve my problem.
Is there any alternative for this? I could even try other alternatives for the p tag too.
Thank you.
This can at least get you started, it's just rows and columns and some minor CSS. The problem you'll have is on a mobile device, if you want this to remain completely horizontal it'll start to break down.

You need to put your text descriptors into columns that match with the columns for you inputs. Like this:
<div class="container-fluid" id="unlabelled">
<p class="bg-primary">
<div class="row">
<div class="form-group col-md-5"> Items</div>
<div class="form-group col-md-2">Quantity</div>
<div class="form-group col-md-2">In Kit</div>
</div>
</p>
<form>
<div class="form-group col-md-5">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="unlabelled-items" placeholder="Enter code or description">
</div>
<div class="form-group col-md-2">
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="quantity" placeholder="Enter Quantity">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<div class="form-group col-md-2">
<input type="checkbox" id="in-kit">
</div>
<div class="form-group col-md-2">
<button class="btn-primary" id="add-btn">Add</button>
</div>
</div>
</form>
</div>

I want inline behaviour, my label 2 will be next to text input, my label 3 will be next to text input. I also need horizontal behaviour, my label 4 will be on top of the textarea. My label 2's and my label 3's text box will be 4 column width, my label 4's width will be full width of the form.
How can I do this in Bootstrap 3 ?
Just because the docs suggest you should use the form controls does not mean you have to. You can just use the built-in grid system to achieve the layout. See http://bootply.com/82900 for a working example. Code below:
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<!-- Latest compiled and minified CSS -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-BVYiiSIFeK1dGmJRAkycuHAHRg32OmUcww7on3RYdg4Va+PmSTsz/K68vbdEjh4u" crossorigin="anonymous">
<!-- Optional theme -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap-theme.min.css" integrity="sha384-rHyoN1iRsVXV4nD0JutlnGaslCJuC7uwjduW9SVrLvRYooPp2bWYgmgJQIXwl/Sp" crossorigin="anonymous">

<div class="container">
<form role="form">
<div class="row">
<label class="col-xs-4" for="inputEmail1">Email</label>
<div class="col-xs-8">
<input type="email" class="form-control" id="inputEmail1" placeholder="Email">
</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<label class="col-xs-4" for="inputPassword1">Password</label>
<div class="col-xs-8">
<input type="password" class="form-control" id="inputPassword1" placeholder="Password">
</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<label class="col-xs-12" for="TextArea">Text Area</label>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12">
<textarea class="form-control" id="TextArea"></textarea>
</div>
</div>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default">Sign in</button>
</div>
</div>
</form>
</div>

UPDATE: Just realized I dropped the label tags. Updated the answer, swapping <label> for <div>.
UPDATE: Updating code to reflect need to stay in this layout in small widths, as requested in comments below. See JS fiddle for a working example.
What you are looking for is not really in-line behaviour at all, just horizontal.
This code should help:
<div class="" id="myDialog1">
<div class="" id="myDialog2">
<form role="form" class="form-horizontal" id="contactForm" onsubmit="send(); return false;">
<label>Please fill the form</label>
<br><br>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="name" class="col-lg-3 col-sm-3">My Label 2</label>
<div class="col-lg-7 col-sm-7">
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="name" id="name" required="required" value="myName">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="email" class="col-lg-3 col-sm-3">My Label 3</label>
<div class="col-lg-7 col-sm-7">
<input type="email" class="form-control" name="email" id="email" required="required">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="message" class="col-lg-3">My Label 4</label>
<div class="col-lg-10 col-sm-10">
<textarea class="form-control" name="message" id="message" required="required"></textarea>
</div>
</div>
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary" id="submit" style="margin-left: 20px">Send</button>
</form>
</div>
</div>
And looks like this:
The col-sm-* tags are optional - they just stop the elements from stacking as you size the window down.
You can try it out here: http://bootply.com/82889
I had the same problem, here is my solution:
<form method="post" class="col-md-12 form-inline form-horizontal" role="form">
<label class="control-label col-sm-5" for="jbe"><i class="icon-envelope"></i> Email me things like this: </label>
<div class="input-group col-sm-7">
<input class="form-control" type="email" name="email" placeholder="your.email#example.com"/>
<span class="input-group-btn">
<button class="btn btn-primary" type="submit">Submit</button>
</span>
</div>
</form>
here is the Demo
you can try the code below
<div class="" id="myDialog1">
<form role="form" class="" id="contactForm" onsubmit="send(); return false;">
<div class="clearfix igr col-md-12">
<label>Please fill the form</label>
</div>
<div class="clearfix igr col-md-12">
<div class="col-md-2">
<label for="name">My Label 2</label>
</div>
<div class="col-md-3">
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="name" id="name" required="required" value="myName">
</div>
</div>
<div class="clearfix igr col-md-12">
<div class="col-md-2">
<label for="email">My Label 3</label>
</div>
<div class="col-md-3">
<input type="email" class="form-control" name="email" id="email" required="required">
</div>
</div>
<div class="clearfix igr col-md-12">
<div class="col-md-12">
<label for="message">My Label 4</label>
</div>
<div class="col-md-3">
<textarea class="form-control" name="message" id="message" required="required"></textarea>
</div>
</div>
<div class="clearfix igr col-md-12">
<div class="col-md-2">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-default btn-primary" id="submit" >Send</button>
</div>
</div>
</form>
</div>
and use the styles as:
label,textarea{
margin:5px 0;
}
.igr{
margin:15px 0;
}
Adding the class control-label to your labels should do the trick for you.
