I create a new ASP.NET Core Web Application project. I have not made any changes to the code. I click on Run and I get the following error:
~\documents\visual studio 2015\Projects\Tag Helpers\src\Tag Helpers\error CS2001: Source file '~\documents\visual studio 2015\Projects\Tag Helpers\src\Tag Helpers\Helpers.deps.json' could not be found. Tag Helpers C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v14.0\DotNet\Microsoft.DotNet.Common.Targets 262
File: Microsoft.DotNet.Common.Targets
I am using Visual Studio 2015 for Web. All of my previous projects are running fine. It's just that whenever I try to create a new project, I am getting this error. I have no idea why this error is coming. I also don't know what else to put here which could help get more idea on the problem.
This might seem silly, but what I did was to completely close this solution/project and open a new one. I think the files had not loaded properly the first time I created the project.
I can be wrong, but this worked for me.

I'm using Cocos-2dx JS for a game project. The Cocos version I use is 3.10. To create the GUIs of my game, I used Cocos Studio and then I generate JSON file of said scene using Cocos Studio. However, the generated JSON file version is 3.10.0.0, and when I compile my project, it got the error "JSON is undefined". When I changed the version attribute of the JSON file to 2.1.0.0, the project run without a problem. Anyone has experienced same error can explain why this happens and how to fix it? Thank you very much.
I found a simple solution that works well for me. All you need to do is go to the Cocos Studio project folder and open YourProjectName.cfg. Find two lines that look something like below.
<CreateFrameworkVersion Value="cocos2d-x-3.10.0.0" />
<CurrentFrameworkVersion Value="cocos2d-x-3.10.0.0" />
Modify the value of CreateFrameworkVersion and CurrentFrameworkVersion to "cocos2d-x-2.10". Then, save it. Now, whenever you publish the project, the JSON file version will be 2.10.
Remember you have to close your Cocos Studio project first.
basically opening this question again because the answer is outdated, as the link now redirects to Firebase:
Gradle fails building with "Missing project_info object"
I want to attach the google-services.json file to my Android Studio project, and every time I try to download it from the developers API from Google, it gives me a json file with a large name that does't correspond to the tutorial's simple "google-services" and renaming it won't work because of this error.
Downloading it creating a new project doesn't seem possible for me now as it the page gives me another error when I click Configure a Project (I already did that before but left the project there without downloading the json file directly from there, which seems to be the problem).
Where can I safely get this file, and should I rename it or? Thanks in advance.
Apparently the solution is just following the link and creating the project with Firebase:
Then create or select a project and fill it with your app data that shoul look like this (the SHA-1 key should be found in your console log when clicking the button in the image:
Then add the lines of code that should be in your build.gradle(app level one and project level one), editing them with notepadd. Finally you need to sync these Gradle files, in Android Studio : File->Sync project with Gradle Files
The tutorial is very self explatanory, but for beginners like me, this could help.
I've created a sample libgdx/html project in NetBeans 8 and I've followed this guide https://github.com/libgdx/libgdx/wiki/Gradle-and-NetBeans. When I try to run it right-clicking the HTML project, then Tasks/superDev, NetBeans compiles everything without errors and gives me the link to click. I click the link but the browser says "The web page is not available".
Here are the last log lines from the NetBeans compilation output:

I feel your pain. Try uploading the files to Mozilla Thimble or some other fancy code-edit system. That way it will show if it will correctly execute or not.

I made a goof and renamed my SSIS package without fully understanding what I was doing. Now I get "one or more solutions couldn't be added..." I then go to my solution explorer and no solutions are there. Please note that I've been working on this project for 6 months. I checked the project obj folder and all my solutions are there. I'm pretty sure I have to rename something else. Will somebody please help me. I am an intern and am FREAKING OUT.
Let's examine what's happening. I am using SSIS 2012 in this example but the steps will be the same for 2005 to 2014. This assumes you have turned off "hide file extensions".
Visual Studio is an Integrated Development Environment, IDE, for developing software. The outermost concept is a Solution. See 1 below. Solutions solve a problem as a whole. A solution might need multiple tools to solve a problem. A tool in this case, is a Project (#2). Depending on the type of project, different folders and such will appear in section 3. This is an example of an SSIS project.
If you don't see your solution, there's a question for that Solution Folder Not Showing in Visual Studio 2010 - How Can I Make It Visible?
If I Rename the project JeffOrris to JeffOrris2 and close Visual Studio, it will prompt me to save changes to JeffOrris.sln (and optionally, the project). If I click No, when I reopen the solution, I am greeted with the following error message along with Visual Studio indicating that my project JeffOrris is unavailable. :'(
---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
One or more projects in the solution were not loaded correctly.
Please see the Output Window for details.

OK
---------------------------
To start fixing things, you have to get Visual Studio to play ball. You can do this one of two routes. The first is to Add the renamed project back into the solution. Add... Existing Project... and then find your .dtproj file (or .whatever it was with 2005/2008) Assuming that loads fine, you can right click on the one that isn't loading and select Remove. Then click "Save All" or Ctrl-Shift-S
Option 2, which is what I do is to go mucking about with files. Find where your .SLN is. If your project is still open, it will indicate it under properties but once it's bolloxed then you'd need to right click and choose Open Folder in File Explorer.
However you get here, look at what you have.
A solution is represented on disk by a .sln file. That's a text file, might be UTF-8 but it's human readable text. The .suo file is binary that keeps track of what you have open and such. It doesn't matter, the .sln does.
Take a peek inside your solution file. Knowledge is only good for you
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 12.00
# Visual Studio 2012
Project("{159641D6-6404-4A2A-AE62-294DE0FE8301}") = "JeffOrris", "JeffOrris\JeffOrris.dtproj", "{631559E9-5ED5-4F63-B74E-BFB6CBAE89C5}"
EndProject
Global
GlobalSection(SolutionConfigurationPlatforms) = preSolution
Development|Default = Development|Default
EndGlobalSection
GlobalSection(ProjectConfigurationPlatforms) = postSolution
{631559E9-5ED5-4F63-B74E-BFB6CBAE89C5}.Development|Default.ActiveCfg = Development
{631559E9-5ED5-4F63-B74E-BFB6CBAE89C5}.Development|Default.Build.0 = Development
EndGlobalSection
GlobalSection(SolutionProperties) = preSolution
HideSolutionNode = FALSE
EndGlobalSection
EndGlobal
Of importance is the line starting with Project. That says I, the Solution, have a Project called JeffOrris and the project file can be found, relative to my location, at Folder called JeffOrris and inside there a file named JeffOrris.dtproj
The "trick" then is to make your subject and verbs agree. Or in this case, make your Solution and your .dtproj file agree. That'd be #6 below. After saving the solution file, Visual Studio should prompt you to reload it and whoosh, your project is back.
If you have inadvertently renamed the .dtproj file, then you can rename it back. Again, save all
D:\Web\CityV2\App_Code\ActiveRecord.tt(0,0) : error CS0006: Compiling transformation: Metadata file 'MySql.Data' could not be found
Let me start by saying I'm using VWD 2008 Express.
These are the steps I've taken so far:
Created an entirely new project
Added references for Subsonic.Core.dll and MySql.Data.dll
Copied Active Record templates to project
Changed all <## include file="SQLServer.ttinclude" #> to <## include file="MySQL.ttinclude" #>
Copied the MySQL.ttinclude and Settings.ttinclude from the TemplateProviders folder
Updated Settings.ttinclude with my connectionstring and database information
Updated the Settings.ttinclude and created the external tool mapping as per ranomore's instructions
Attempted to build the code from the templates and received the error
I then realized that I didn't have MySql Connector "installed" on my dev box (even though I added a reference to the bin). So I proceeded to MySQL.com and downloaded the latest 6.0.4 connector msi and installed it (GAC). The error no longer appears, but neither does anything else: no new classes, no new errors, nothing [and yes, I refreshed the project after running the command ;-)].
Two things:
Am I missing a step somewhere?
Is there a way build the templates without needing MySQL installed to the GAC?
Unfortunately SubSonic 3 doesn't support VWD 2008 Express (or more specifically VWD doesn't support t4). There is a sort of workaround that ranomore came up with but it will require some work by you. See the following question for more details:
SubSonic ASP.NET MVC sample in Visual Web Developer Express
EDIT: I should have read your question properly you obviously already have the link above. Maybe worth your while downloading the trial of VS professional and seeing if you have more luck with that to see if it's worth outlaying the cash to buy it.
On a side note if you're looking to get an msdn subscription for free you should have a look into registering for the bizspark program
