WordPress Access - mysql

I'm working on a website with a friend using Wordpress and we are trying to access the same WordPress account from both mine and his computer, so that we can work on the website together. We have tried to add each other as admins but can only access the new account from the computer the admin has been created on. Does anyone know how to do this?
By the way wordpress is run on wampserver

WAMP server is for local development (like XAMP, LAMPP and MAMP). When you install WAMP and install Wordpress inside it, it can be only accessed from that computer. You can create multiple admin accounts on single Wordpress installation. (Do not use single admin account for both of you.)
However in this case, you can't access the local Wordpress installation with multiple computers. to do that you may have need to buy a domain and a hosting from a hosting provider. Then you can create two admin accounts and start developing.
Or, as JJJ suggested you can convert WAMP+Wordpress installed computer to a server, but its hard and I do not think it'll be a good idea for this.

WAMP is local. You can move the WordPress install onto a shared hosting relatively painlessly and cheaply then can collaboratively work on it.

How to setup local server for wordpress site with git

I'm working on a WordPress site via Sourcetree. The previous dev working on this project had set up a local server with Docker, however I have no experience with this.
My question is - how can I connect to localhost to start developing?
Note-
I've downloaded mysql, xampp and wordpress locally
I have experience developing wordpress sites locally (via an FTP such as FileZilla), however I've never done so with git included.
Thanks.
Try to follow these instructions:

Probably one thing that you are not doing properly is that your project doesn't sit in xampp/htdocs/myproject as that way you can access it through http://localhost/myproject

Migrate Joomla 3 Site to new domain

I have built a Joomla site for a client on a development server. It soon needs migrating to the client's Live site, which will mean a URL change as well as a physical server change.
I'm new to Joomla, but having worked a lot on WordPress previously I know it's a piece of cake to migrate one WP site to another, especially with the dozen or so available plugins.
However, this doesn't appear to be so easy on Joomla. I have searched for the best practice to achieve this with Joomla 3 but cannot find what I need.
Does anyone have a suggestion for this?
There are in fact a two ways to achieve this and they are quite easy.
1. The first one is the manual way, that is:
Copy the files of your local joomla installation and upload them to
your server
Export your local database and import it on your server.
Edit the configuration.php file to your new server credentials -db
name, db user, db server etc.
2. The second one is through the akeeba backup component.
In this case you create a backup and then restore it on the remote
server. Detailed info
here.
After uploading your remote site you are advised to follow these
guidelines
to secure your installation.

Duplicating existing cakephp app for development

I need to make a development version of a cakePHP app with its own db so that a developer can work on it without disturbing the current users.
I thought it would be simple, I just copied the entire director /project to /project_dev and then copied the DB "project_db" to "project_db_dev". Then I went into /project_dev/config/database.php and changed the db to "project_db_dev".
When I went to see what I had done, I saw the app was still connecting to the same db, as if I'd changed nothing. I realized that the original folder name was referenced in /app/webroot/.htaccess so do I need to find/replace all instances of that folder name?
What steps should I follow to duplicate an existing cakePHP app?
You need to setup some kind of development lifecycle.
Generally speaking the developer shouldn't be doing any development on the server. The best way to handle it is locally using a stack of some kind such as Lamp (Linux, Apache, Mysql, PHP) switch out linux with other OS's. There are multiple cloud solution to these environments to such as Koding.com
Using something like Git for version control the developer can develop locally then push the code through to the server after is being thoroughly tested locally or on a dev server or some kind.
Keeping Dev work and Live work away from each other is key.
Could do with a bit more information.
If both databases are hosted on the same server and you have permission to access them both with the same user then all you have to do is change the name of the database in your database.php
If not you will also have to update the IP and any other additional settings port etc.

how to configure shared web hosting on ubuntu server?

i am planning to open a shared web hosting company. before opening i am configuring and checking that all things are up and running or not.
i had tried webmin, virtualmin and ajenti as web hosting manager on ubuntu server but i am not satisfied with them. is there any alternative to them which have secure administrator and client side control panel and easier to manager client account and hosts.
i am using apache2 as web server and mysql as database serve.
Thank You
Try ZPanel, it is cross-platform and has a great looking control panel. They also provide an installer which installs Apache, PHP, MySQL, and ZPanel, all pre-configured to run a shared hosting service.

Getting shared hosting right isn't an easy thing to do especially if you want to allow your clients to use scripting languages like PHP. By default, PHP runs under the same userid regardless of which of customer the files belong to. So they will be able to see the files (including config files with database passwords) of the other customers.
There are ways around this problem, but most of them are either inconvenient for the customer or they bring other problems (like having to run the Apache as root).
Besides the shared hosting market is quite full with existing companies which have huge data centers and therefore can offer much more service at lower costs.
So my suggestion would be: Look at new services that you can provide. Docker Hosting or LXC Hosting isn't that common yet and you can better compete there.
If you really want to do simple shared hosting, and are in search of an admin tool: Try ISPCONFIG3

Uploading MVC Website and MySQL to Webhost

I created a website using Code Ignitor and MySQL and want to upload everything to 000webhost.com
How do I:
upload my models, views and controllers to the public_html folder of 000webhost?
get my MySQL database up and running on 000webhost?
Thanks in advance
I am presuming that your control panel is cPanel. If thats the case then upload all your files in the web root of the server. Create a database, and change that details in database.php inside config folder. thats it, your site will be up and running.
Your .htaccess (at least mod_rewrite for codeigniter) will not work if you use the free 000webhost service (at least the last time i wanted it, the support told me that they doesn't support it... that was thy time i signed up for their free service for private test of scripts i wrote). Another thing is that for the free hosting they use their own control panel (not cPanel), cPanel is for the paid accounts.
Anyway they both offer ftp accounts, mysql databases and of course web ftp (online file manager). All you need is a ftp client (such as FileZilla or even Windows Explorer itself).
