Using the steps outlined in https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/markdown
in step 3 of the Automatic Markdown compilation section I am not presented with a picker listing the tasks defined in the gulp file.
gulp -v produces
CLI version 3.9.1
Local version 3.9.1
My steps are to this point are:
create the gulpfile.js file in the root folder (the folder that
contains the .vscode folder)
copy the contents of the file verbatim from the instructions
Ctrl+Shift+P to bring up the command menu
Select Tasks: Run Tasks
Here I'm presented only with task in the field and No tasks foundbelow.
I've tried just copying the contents of what the tasks.json file should look like, according to the instructions, but I can't seem to get the system working where my markdown files are automatically compiling.
What am I doing wrong?
Found that I needed to add the environment variable NODE_PATH targeting the node_modules folder. In my case it was NODE_PATH=C:\node_modules.

I have start using SCSS for the frontend, and can setup it correctly with PhpStorm on the a MacBook Pro with Mojave installed.
First I install the npm:
Then I setup the file watcher:
But it does not work. Something what I not seeing here?
If you like the .css files to be generated in the same folder as original file, try the following settings:
Note the Create output file from stdout option - it has to be enabled, as node-sass writes CSS to stdout unless the -o option is passed.

I learned to do a working environment based bower, from there install yoeman and gulp and materialize, I made a web page to root of all this, now I want to upload a host (like 000webhost or firebase) but I do not know which files are the ones I should upload

You should upload everything except bower_components directory since it's content is used only when you compile down the things using gulp on your local machine. Once all your source files are piped through gulp, they are not required on the destination location. None of those files is or should be used during a http request.
I don't know exactly what is your project's structure, but because you specified what you use (bower, gulp) then I can deduct.
So after gulp finishes it's work, you have a public directory where all your combined, minified and copied assets live. This is obviously needed on the server, in your markup, you should refer to those files, not the ones fetched by bower when you've done bower install library1 --save. bower install library2 --save.
I would start to use LESS so I try to configure my PhpStorm v8.0.3 to automatically compile .less into .css files.
I have installed node.js and installed less ( npm install -g less ), then I tried to set IDE but I obtained errors.
In Program input I don't know what write, if I leave empty the program say
"Please set program to run!"
If I use a macro the most of time I obtain error permissions

You need less plugin for phpstorm https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/7059?pr=idea after install restart phpstorm and open .less file
Phpstorm suggest you to add File Watcher for compiling less files automatically.
You need to point your Program field to your lessc file (lessc.cmd on Windows).

I'm keeping my .less files in /assets/less/ folder and compiled files in /assets/css/ -- hence the ../css/ part in file output paths. If you want to keep compiled files next to sources .. then just remove that part.

I have configured Jenkins as the CI for a project which is using Mercurial as the source control management. I'm using MSTest plugin in Jenkins to see the test results and I have written a bat command to generate test result file

mstest /testcontainer:Example\TestProject1\bin\debug\TestProject2.dll /resultsfile:results.trx
it gives an error in console saying File "Example\TestProject1\bin\debug\TestProject2.dll" not found"
when every build happens a folder is created under %WORKSPACE% having a new name (SYSTEM_My_Computer_Name 2011-06-08 13_04_11). In that the test dll is in a directory called out. How can I get path to that dll, because the directory name is changed for every build?
It is working fine when I used a absolute url like "c:\Example\TestProject1\bin\debug\TestProject2.dll"
How can we refer the newly built dll ?
Do I need to add test dll file in to the repository ?
Jenkins run bat files with %WORKSPACE% as the current directory.
As the error message indicates, the relative path to the test container is wrong. I can think of two things that can be the issue here:
The folder structure under %WORKSPACE% does not match your relative path. Adding a cd by its own in the bat file will reveal on the build output where this is. You can also use the links in the Jenkins web ui to browse the workspace.
You are building a different msbuild target in Jenkins, for example release. Then \bin\debug might not exist.
The folder "SYSTEM_My_Computer_Name 2011-06-08 13_04_11" is not created by Jenkins during the build, but it is created by the mstest when it is running the test. The root folder when the mstest is invoked is the workspace root folder, so the testcontainer file should be specify from the workspace root.
For example, say if the dll file is under C:\jenkins\jobs\\workspace\TestProject1\bin\debug\TestProject2.dll(assume your jenkins is installed under c:\jenkins).
The command should be (relative to the workspace root folder):
mstest /testcontainer:TestProject1\bin\debug\TestProject2.dll /resultsfile:results.trx
I am trying to use Jekyll together with Compass.
On one command line I'm running jekyll --auto and in another one compass watch.
The SASS files are located in /stylesheets and are compiled into /_site/stylesheets.
Jekyll is configured to ignore /stylesheets.
Compiling the stylesheets works fine in the beginning, but everytime I change something that makes Jekyll regenerate the site, it overwrites the whole /_site folder and /_site/stylesheets is gone. Compass doesn't regenerate it since the source SASS files haven't changed.
Is there another way to use Jekyll together with Compass?
Can I configure Jekyll to not overwrite the complete output folder but just the files that changed?

Simple,
I just put the generated css folder in the root folder. Jekyll will generate the file inside _site folder.
As you can see in my repository.
Just call the CSS with the following code
<link href = "/css/screen.css" ...

The issue is that Jekyll, when run, scraps all the contents of the _site directory. The way I got around this was to use rake for deployment, and then have the following in my rakefile:
task :generate => :clear do
sh 'jekyll'
sh 'compass compile'
end
I then just run:
$ rake generate
Which populates the jekyll directory, and then puts the compass files over.
A neater solution might be to make your compass -watch process (assuming that is what you are running) compile the compass to projectdir/css. When you then run jekyll it will just pull that css directory directly into _site/css and you're done, no problems (see below for dir structure).

If you put anything in _site/css and then run jekyll after it will be removed, so you either need to run compass after, or put the compass files into the css folder in the root directory, and then jekyll will just copy the files correctly.
