What does 'program against' mean? - json

I'm not a programmer but I work on IT materials an a translator and translation reviewer in Korea.
I came across the following sentence at work:
Once the NuGet package has been added and the project references updated you can program against the APIs as you would with any project reference.

Anyone can please explain what 'program against the APIs' mean?

It simply means to use the APIs. For example : "Once the NuGet package has been added and the project references updated you can program using the NuGet APIs as you would with any project reference."

view the code/functions of a DLL file

I need to view the code of a DLL file . I HAVE GONE THROUGH other posts where many tools like .net reflector, dotpeek , dependency walker were suggested .Also I tried using visual studio.
However , most of them support only .net module and my dll is not supported. None of the posts solved my problem.I am unable to view the code inside DLL. Please suggest.
You cannot see the source code of a compiled library. To see at least the published symbols and some more information, try Dependency Walker:

How to create or correctly import BackEndProxyStub project from ChatterBox VoIP sample to another solution (WP8)

I'm trying to develop a VoIP application based on ChatterBox VoIP sample and VoIP apps for Windows Phone 8.
I understand how projects Agents, BackEnd and UI work, but I cannot understand BackEndProxyStub.
I read the following description:
This is an out-of-process server written in C that enables
communication between the foreground app and the background process.
But found no other documentation that explains in more detail.
I'm trying to edit the "ChatterBox VoIP sample app" (to integrate with another BackEnd and UI), so I wanted to know how to create or import BackEndProxyStub and edit correctly for my solution.
I tried to import, but when I rebuild my solution, appears 2 unresolved externals:
Error 2 error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_PhoneVoIPApp2EBackEnd_ProxyFileInfo D:\Workspace\C# and C++\BackEndProxyStub\dlldata.obj BackEndProxyStub
Error 3 error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_PhoneVoIPApp2EBackEnd2EOutOfProcess_ProxyFileInfo D:\Workspace\C# and C++\BackEndProxyStub\dlldata.obj BackEndProxyStub
And when I tried to rename the files to my project name (even with the warning "DO NOT ALTER THIS FILE"), I got the same errors (differing only by name).
I would appreciate if someone could explain me how to properly handle "BackEndProxyStub" project.
If I missed something that could help, please tell me.
Seems like we're having the same problem. At the moment I can't help much because I just started as well; but I think the BackEndProxyStub is compiler-generated (refer to here). This might be a good start as well (refer to the comment for the question).
Based on that currently I'm studying COM starting from here, hoping one day can fully understand the chatterbox example.

The files in BackEndProxyStub project was generated by the BackEnd project. It used the MIDL(Microsoft Interface Definition Language).
This can be prove in the BackEnd Project's project file(BackEnd.vcxproj). The "CustomBuildStep" node in this file showed the clue:

Cirrious.MvvmCross.ExtensionMethods not found in nuget Hot Tuna Starter Pack

I'm trying to develop my first application using mvvcross. I'm following this tutorial http://slodge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/n0-first-mvvmcross-application-n1-days.html but I don't know why can't use in my code this namespace Cirrious.MvvmCross.ExtensionMethods
To add all project's references I'm using Nuget and the version of Hot Tuna Starter Pack is 3.0.10
In this page, http://monodeveloper.org/uncategorized/building-cross-platform-mobile-applications-in-visual-studio-using-xamarin-and-azure-mobile-services/ there is a mvvmcross example, and if I download the source code and add the references that this project is using in the References folder, I can use extensions :(
Like this:

What is the problem? Maybe related with PCL assemblies?

The this.GetService<T> style of service resolution was replaced with simple Mvx.Resolve<T> calls and with constructor based dependency injection in MvvmCross v3.

I added this into a existing Metro application and its giving me that error, anyone has solution to it?
Go to the properties of the project and under Build, you will see Platform Target. Choose either x64 or x86 instead of Any CPU and it should be solved.

To correctly reference Bing Maps for a Metro app...
Go to: Project -> Add Reference -> Windows -> Extensions
Now, select both the "Bing Maps for ..." and also "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package"
If you don't select the 2nd package, things will seem to be fine until you try to actually deploy your app.

The definition of base class ByteArrayAsset was not found

I'm using FlashDevelop4.0.0 RC1 to create AS3 library project, in which I want to import Away3D library. I follow this tutorial to set up my FD.

However, FD generate error message when I use ExportSWC4.2 plugin to compile the project, I got error message said that

Can anyone help me with that? Thanks!

Not sure about their GIT, but I found the SVN repo dated.
I did not see ByteArrayAsset anywhere in the inheritance chain within my version:
away3d.materials.methods.TerrainDiffuseMethod
away3d.materials.methods.BasicDiffuseMethod
away3d.materials.methods.LightingMethodBase
away3d.materials.methods.ShadingMethodBase
mx.core.ByteArrayAsset is an Adobe class.
There's a NormalizeSplats Pixel Bender linkage, but I did not see any Normalize Kernel.
I'd recommend grabbing the Broomstick ZIP package - I had no issues building the SWC with Flash Builder targeting Flash Player 11.
