How to create or correctly import BackEndProxyStub project from ChatterBox VoIP sample to another solution (WP8) - windows-phone-8

I'm trying to develop a VoIP application based on ChatterBox VoIP sample and VoIP apps for Windows Phone 8.
I understand how projects Agents, BackEnd and UI work, but I cannot understand BackEndProxyStub.
I read the following description:
This is an out-of-process server written in C that enables
communication between the foreground app and the background process.
But found no other documentation that explains in more detail.
I'm trying to edit the "ChatterBox VoIP sample app" (to integrate with another BackEnd and UI), so I wanted to know how to create or import BackEndProxyStub and edit correctly for my solution.
I tried to import, but when I rebuild my solution, appears 2 unresolved externals:
Error 2 error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_PhoneVoIPApp2EBackEnd_ProxyFileInfo D:\Workspace\C# and C++\BackEndProxyStub\dlldata.obj BackEndProxyStub
Error 3 error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol
_PhoneVoIPApp2EBackEnd2EOutOfProcess_ProxyFileInfo D:\Workspace\C# and C++\BackEndProxyStub\dlldata.obj BackEndProxyStub
And when I tried to rename the files to my project name (even with the warning "DO NOT ALTER THIS FILE"), I got the same errors (differing only by name).
I would appreciate if someone could explain me how to properly handle "BackEndProxyStub" project.
If I missed something that could help, please tell me.

Seems like we're having the same problem. At the moment I can't help much because I just started as well; but I think the BackEndProxyStub is compiler-generated (refer to here). This might be a good start as well (refer to the comment for the question).
Based on that currently I'm studying COM starting from here, hoping one day can fully understand the chatterbox example.
Hope that helps.

The files in BackEndProxyStub project was generated by the BackEnd project. It used the MIDL(Microsoft Interface Definition Language).
This can be prove in the BackEnd Project's project file(BackEnd.vcxproj). The "CustomBuildStep" node in this file showed the clue:
<CustomBuildStep>
<Command Condition="'$(Configuration)|$(Platform)'=='Debug|ARM'">pushd "$(OutDir)"WinMdIdl.exe "$(OutDir)$(RootNamespace).winmd"
MIdl.exe /env $(MidlEnv) /winrt /ns_prefix /metadata_dir "$(FrameworkSdkDir)Windows Metadata" /out "$(SolutionDir)$(ProjectName)ProxyStub" "$(OutDir)$(RootNamespace).idl"
MIdl.exe /env $(MidlEnv) /winrt /ns_prefix /metadata_dir "$(FrameworkSdkDir)Windows Metadata" /out "$(SolutionDir)$(ProjectName)ProxyStub" "$(OutDir)$(RootNamespace).OutOfProcess.idl"
"$(ProjectDir)OopServerRegistrationHelper.exe" /winmd:"$(OutDir)$(RootNamespace).winmd" /dll_name:$(TargetName) /namespace:$(RootNamespace).OutOfProcess
/app_manifest:"$(SolutionDir)UI\Properties\WMAppManifest.xml" /helper_dir:"$(SolutionDir)Agents" popd
</Command></CustomBuildStep> .......
It also can be founded in Visual Studio:
Here is documents of the MIDL. I think you can use the MIDL to generate your own BackEndProxyHub Project. Good luck.

Android Studio Gradle error: Missing project_info object

basically opening this question again because the answer is outdated, as the link now redirects to Firebase:
Gradle fails building with "Missing project_info object"
I want to attach the google-services.json file to my Android Studio project, and every time I try to download it from the developers API from Google, it gives me a json file with a large name that does't correspond to the tutorial's simple "google-services" and renaming it won't work because of this error.
Downloading it creating a new project doesn't seem possible for me now as it the page gives me another error when I click Configure a Project (I already did that before but left the project there without downloading the json file directly from there, which seems to be the problem).
Where can I safely get this file, and should I rename it or? Thanks in advance.
Apparently the solution is just following the link and creating the project with Firebase:
Then create or select a project and fill it with your app data that shoul look like this (the SHA-1 key should be found in your console log when clicking the button in the image:
Then add the lines of code that should be in your build.gradle(app level one and project level one), editing them with notepadd. Finally you need to sync these Gradle files, in Android Studio : File->Sync project with Gradle Files
The tutorial is very self explatanory, but for beginners like me, this could help.

Can't load a native DLL

It's a follow-up from this.
Windows Phone 8 C# project (MyApp), migrated from WP7.1. I've added a native Windows Runtime component library (AppLib) to the solution, created a reference. There's a public sealed ref class (MyClass) in it. There's a reference to it in the C# code (in OnLoaded of the main XAML page). The whole thing builds - meaning the metadata of the component is being generated.
When I'm trying to run on the emulator, the project fails with the exception or type BadImageFormatException with the following message:
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
The error typically pops up when you try to mix CPU types in .NET.
The active platform is "Mixed platforms". In the Configuration Manager, it's configured to build MyApp for "x86" and AppLib for "Win32". In a vanilla freshly generated project that runs fine, the config is identical.
Question - what's wrong with that configuration? What do I need to check?
EDIT: I've added a second, blank C++ library to the solution - TestLib. This one loads and works as expected.
EDIT2: excluded everything from build in AppLib - it works. Now I'll be adding lines one by one, see which one causes the issue...
Totally my fault. When I changed the namespace of AppLib (see the linked question), I've left one little declaration in the library in a MyApp namespace.
The error is still misleading. I'd delete the question, but since the error message is sure to send someone on a wild goose chase with build CPU type and whatnot, let it remain.
Shouldn't a Windows Phone library be built for ARM in most cases? Have you had a chance to watch the "Windows Phone 8: Using C++ in your Applications" session from last week's //Build/ conference? That might include some answers.

The definition of base class ByteArrayAsset was not found

I'm using FlashDevelop4.0.0 RC1 to create AS3 library project, in which I want to import Away3D library. I follow this tutorial to set up my FD.
http://www.mclelun.com/blog/2011/08/flashdevelop-stage3d-away3d/
However, FD generate error message when I use ExportSWC4.2 plugin to compile the project, I got error message said that
at away3d\materials\methods\TerrainDiffuseMethod_NormalizeKernel.as(10): The definition of base class ByteArrayAsset was not found
Can anyone help me with that? Thanks!
p.s.
I also have issue like the following link
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3401191&group_id=252536&atid=1127375
not sure if it's related to my problem.
Are you downloading the zip package from http://away3d.com/download/ or accessing via SVN / GIT?
http://away3d.com/images/uploads/releases/away3d_4_0_110915.zip
Not sure about their GIT, but I found the SVN repo dated.
I did not see ByteArrayAsset anywhere in the inheritance chain within my version:
away3d.materials.methods.TerrainDiffuseMethod
away3d.materials.methods.BasicDiffuseMethod
away3d.materials.methods.LightingMethodBase
away3d.materials.methods.ShadingMethodBase
mx.core.ByteArrayAsset is an Adobe class.
There's a NormalizeSplats Pixel Bender linkage, but I did not see any Normalize Kernel.
I'd recommend grabbing the Broomstick ZIP package - I had no issues building the SWC with Flash Builder targeting Flash Player 11.

MySQL T4 Templates Error: Metadata file 'MySql.Data' could not be found

D:\Web\CityV2\App_Code\ActiveRecord.tt(0,0) : error CS0006: Compiling transformation: Metadata file 'MySql.Data' could not be found
Let me start by saying I'm using VWD 2008 Express.
These are the steps I've taken so far:
Created an entirely new project
Added references for Subsonic.Core.dll and MySql.Data.dll
Copied Active Record templates to project
Changed all <## include file="SQLServer.ttinclude" #> to <## include file="MySQL.ttinclude" #>
Copied the MySQL.ttinclude and Settings.ttinclude from the TemplateProviders folder
Updated Settings.ttinclude with my connectionstring and database information
Updated the Settings.ttinclude and created the external tool mapping as per ranomore's instructions
Attempted to build the code from the templates and received the error
I then realized that I didn't have MySql Connector "installed" on my dev box (even though I added a reference to the bin). So I proceeded to MySQL.com and downloaded the latest 6.0.4 connector msi and installed it (GAC). The error no longer appears, but neither does anything else: no new classes, no new errors, nothing [and yes, I refreshed the project after running the command ;-)].
Two things:
Am I missing a step somewhere?
Is there a way build the templates without needing MySQL installed to the GAC?
Unfortunately SubSonic 3 doesn't support VWD 2008 Express (or more specifically VWD doesn't support t4). There is a sort of workaround that ranomore came up with but it will require some work by you. See the following question for more details:
SubSonic ASP.NET MVC sample in Visual Web Developer Express
EDIT: I should have read your question properly you obviously already have the link above. Maybe worth your while downloading the trial of VS professional and seeing if you have more luck with that to see if it's worth outlaying the cash to buy it.
On a side note if you're looking to get an msdn subscription for free you should have a look into registering for the bizspark program

HTML Help Workshop Crashes on Compiling a CHM

Trying to build a CHM using Microsoft HTML Help Workshop. A soon as I click Compile, HTML Help Workshop states:
An internal error has occurred. An error record has been saved to c:\os.err.
The only contents of the file are:
((Today's Date & Time))
Microsoft HTML Help Workshop Version 4.74.8702
HHA Version 4.74.8702
htmlproc.cpp(114) : Assertion failure: (pszTmp == m_pCompiler->m_pHtmlMem->psz)
The error only occurs for a few select, large projects, and happens from both the command line as well as the HTML Help Workshop GUI.
What causes this error to occur and how can I fix my project to run through the compiler?
The Microsoft HTML Help compiler has some unstated requirements for path name sizes.
Moving the project to a directory closer to the root drive (i.e. "C:\helpsystem\") and renaming folders inside the project to smaller name reduced the path name size enough so that the project would compile.
I found Microsoft HTML Help Workshop to be a bit delicate to work with. Do you have all the prerequistes installed? Try running the compiler, hhc.exe, from the command line.
Another thing to watch out for is an Error 413 - Request Entity Too Large error.
I'm not sure how big is too big for HTML Help Workshop, but my htm file is a touch over 2MB, a large table, and it causes HTML Help Workshop to crash when processing it.
While this isn't the same problem, it was the hint I needed - I'm not the first to find this on SO..
