it works fine, but displays either one empty row at the top and the sum below or vis-a-vis. I tried LIMIT 1, but the problem is when the SUM(amount) outputs in row 2, i cannot fetch and if I don't apply any limit, it only fetches result whose SUM(amount) outputs in row 1. I don't know what am missing. Please kindly assist. Thanks.

I have a query that is giving me different results when i enclosed it in Parentheses, however when I run it without Parentheses its giving me different results. I want to apply Union in between so I have to use Parentheses as without union doesn't work.

Same query if enclosed in Parentheses will give me different results.
Parentheses are not required for a UNION statement. The following 2 union statements both work and yield the same results.
SELECT 1 UNION SELECT 2;
(SELECT 1) UNION (SELECT 2);
I would like to search a keyword from the result of the subquery. In my subquery I already filtered the grants I need from different category required. Now I need to search the keyword in title for those results. Or is there efficient way to do this query because my work is not working after days stuck?

I've been using the following join, to pull rows of users whom have volunteered for various project positions.

...but in a change of functionality, I have to now account for the date of the latest edit to a project. In another query, I solved it like so

WHERE
current_datetime = (SELECT MAX(current_datetime)
FROM positions
WHERE
project_id = 1 AND day = 1)
Which works fine, but now I have to also incorporate the return of rows which match the latest datetime in the left join query.
I just can't seem to wrap my head around it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have a principal requet with 2 requets in. I have a problem in my second nested query, I have a condition on id and if I made my request id = 10 takes a long time to execute, so if I replace it by id LIKE 10 my request execute in one second.

the line is the following problem toto.project.id_project = '10' and I don't understand why the time to execute request is so different between = and LIKE
Let's start with your subquery. Those 17 lines that you've written are functionally identical to this, so why not use this instead?

To do it using RANK you just need to add the RANK to the subquery and get to rank the DateEdited for each CaseID and Agent and then in the main query put a WHERE clause to only select rows where the rank is 1. I think I have got the partition clause right - its a bit hard without seeing your data.
