Custom icons disappeared on google maps KML - google-maps

Customs icons were working on my google maps ( with KML file ) but they disappeared. I read the related post on stackoverflow but since I have not already used <color/> what can I do on my map ?
You can see the example page here and the script is as below:

The marker disappears depending on the scale and type of the marker

I want to make the markers of a certain type disappear depending on the scale
I achieved that all markers would be switched off at a scale of <= 14
Tell me how to correctly write a condition for disabling markers with the type "ps1" for a scale <= 14
<script>
var markerType = {
"ps1": [], "tp1": [], "rtp0": []
};
function initMap() {
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById('map'), {
center: new google.maps.LatLng(47.82034163, 31.19833049),
zoom: 14,
});
var image = {
rtp0: {
url: './image/rtp0.png',scaledSize: new google.maps.Size(28, 40)},
ps1: {
url: './image/ps1.png',scaledSize: new google.maps.Size(28, 40)},
tp1: {
url: './image/tp1.png',scaledSize: new google.maps.Size(28, 40)},
};
downloadUrl('phpsqlinfo.php', function(data) {
var xml = data.responseXML;
var markers = xml.documentElement.getElementsByTagName('marker');
Array.prototype.forEach.call(markers, function(markerElem) {
var point = new google.maps.LatLng(
parseFloat(markerElem.getAttribute('lat')),
parseFloat(markerElem.getAttribute('lng')));
var type = markerElem.getAttribute('type');
var icon = image[type] || {};
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
icon: icon,
map: map,
position: point,
});
markerType[type].push(marker);
google.maps.event.addListener(map, 'zoom_changed', function() {
zoomLevel = map.getZoom();
for (var i = 0; i < markerType[type].length; i++) {
var markers = markerType[type][i];
if (zoomLevel <= 14) {
(!markers.getVisible())
markers.setVisible(false);
}
else {
markers.setVisible(true);
}
}
});
});
});
}
</script>
You need to set the markers' method to setMap(null) and setMap(map) when the zoom_changed event fires.
Store the markers you want to filter e.g ps1 in a variable:
var markersToShowHide = markerType.ps1;
Then add two functions, one to show the markers and the other to hide them:
function showMarkers() {
for (var i = 0; i < markersToShowHide.length; i++) {
markersToShowHide[i].setMap(map);
}
}
function hideMarkers() {
for (var i = 0; i < markersToShowHide.length; i++) {
markersToShowHide[i].setMap(null);
}
}
Full code:
var markerType = {
"ps1": [],
"tp1": [],
"rtp0": []
};
function initMap() {
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById('map'), {
center: new google.maps.LatLng(47.82034163, 31.19833049),
zoom: 14,
});
var image = {
rtp0: {
url: './image/rtp0.png',
scaledSize: new google.maps.Size(28, 40)
},
ps1: {
url: './image/ps1.png',
scaledSize: new google.maps.Size(28, 40)
},
tp1: {
url: './image/tp1.png',
scaledSize: new google.maps.Size(28, 40)
},
};
var markersToShowHide = markerType.ps1;
function showMarkers() {
for (var i = 0; i < markersToShowHide.length; i++) {
markersToShowHide[i].setMap(map);
}
}
function hideMarkers() {
for (var i = 0; i < markersToShowHide.length; i++) {
markersToShowHide[i].setMap(null);
}
}
downloadUrl('phpsqlinfo.php', function(data) {
var xml = data.responseXML;
var markers = xml.documentElement.getElementsByTagName('marker');
Array.prototype.forEach.call(markers, function(markerElem) {
var point = new google.maps.LatLng(
parseFloat(markerElem.getAttribute('lat')),
parseFloat(markerElem.getAttribute('lng')));
var type = markerElem.getAttribute('type');
var icon = image[type] || {};
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
icon: icon,
map: map,
position: point
});

google.maps.event.addListener(map, 'zoom_changed', function() {
if (map.getZoom() <= 14) {
hideMarkers();
} else {
showMarkers();

Issue with google map API

I have to translate a google map api code from v2 to v3. I've tried but it is not working.
This is the old version code:
function getQueryVariable(variable){
var query = window.location.search.substring(1);
var vars=query.split("&");
for(var i=0;i<vars.length;i++) {
var pair = vars[i].split("=");
if (pair[0] == variable) {
return pair[1];
}
}
}
var map = null;
var geocoder = null;
function showAddress(address, year1,year2,year3) {
map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map_canvas"));
geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder();
if (geocoder) {
geocoder.getLatLng(address,function(point) {
if (!point) {
alert(address + " not found");
} else {
map.setCenter(point, 11);
var marker = new GMarker(point);
map.addOverlay(marker);
}
}
);
}
}
This is what I wrote:
function getQueryVariable(variable) {
var query = window.location.search.substring(1);
var vars = query.split("&");
for (var i=0;i<vars.length;i++) {
var pair = vars[i].split("=");
if(decodeURIComponent(pair[0]) {
return pair[1];
}
}
}
var map = null;
var geocoder = null;
function showAddress(address) {
var map=new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"));
geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder();
geocoder.geocode(address, function(results, status) {
if (status == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) {
var center = results[0].geometry.location;
map.setCenter(center);
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
map: map,
position: center
});
}
}
}
Someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks a lot.
Marcello
There are syntax errors in your code. But the main issue is you need to initialize the google.maps.Map object. Currently there are 3 required options in the google.maps.MapOptions object:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/reference#MapOptions
center | LatLng | The initial Map center. Required.
mapTypeId | MapTypeId | The initial Map mapTypeId. Required.
zoom | number | The initial Map zoom level. Required.
This works for me:
function getQueryVariable(variable) {
var query = window.location.search.substring(1);
var vars = query.split("&");
for (var i=0;i<vars.length;i++) {
var pair = vars[i].split("=");
if(decodeURIComponent(pair[0])) {
return pair[1];
}
}
}
var map = null;
var geocoder = null;
function showAddress(address) {
var map=new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"),{center:new google.maps.LatLng(0,0), zoom:2, mapTypeId : google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP});
geocoder = new google.maps.Geocoder();
geocoder.geocode({address:address}, function(results, status) {
if (status == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) {
var center = results[0].geometry.location;
map.setCenter(center);
if (results[0].geometry.viewport) map.fitBounds(results[0].geometry.viewport)
else if (results[0].geometry.bounds) map.fitBounds(results[0].geometry.bounds)
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
map: map,
position: center
});
} else alert("Geocoder returns: " + status);
});
}

Google Maps Api V3 Zoom links in infowindow not working

I am building a store locator using php sql and javascript. I've done this tutorial https://developers.google.com/maps/articles/phpsqlsearch_v3 and got it working. I am trying to implement zoom in/out links on the infoWindows, for when the user clicks a marker. Its not working, in FireFox I am getting no errors in the console. In Chrome I am getting Uncaught TypeError: Object # has no method 'setCenter'
Ive been searching the forums but have been unable to find a solution. Sorry I dont have a version online to look at, working locally. Below is the script I am using.

}
function createOption(name, distance, num) {
var option = document.createElement("option");
option.value = num;
option.innerHTML = name + "(" + distance.toFixed(1) + ")";
locationSelect.appendChild(option);
}
//Look up XML sheet to get data
function downloadUrl(url, callback) {
var request = window.ActiveXObject ?
new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLHTTP') :
new XMLHttpRequest;
request.onreadystatechange = function() {
if (request.readyState == 4) {
callback(request.responseText, request.status);
}
};
request.open('GET', url, true);
request.send(null);
}

if (window.ActiveXObject) {
var doc = new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLDOM');
doc.loadXML(str);
return doc;
} else if (window.DOMParser) {
return (new DOMParser).parseFromString(str, 'text/xml');
}
}
It works for me in both IE and Firefox. Although to me the behavior makes more sense if I set the center for the "ZoomTo" link as well:
html += '<br>Zoom To';

It works like a charm but I have problem to setup an infowindow for each waypoint. I would like to leave markers names like A , B ,C or generate it in otherway but to keep A,B,C or 1,2,3 pattern and I want to add infowindow to each marker which contains title text and link.
I was trying to find any info or examples but nothing works. Maybe someone have and idea how to easily add infowindow to this code.
Here is an example that draws the directions from scratch with custom markers and infowindows:
Example
If you use the suppressInfoWindows option on the DirectionsRenderer, you can just use the part of it that creates the markers and their associated infowindows.
Working example based on your code
