I am having trouble getting bootstrap 3's navabar to be responsive on a mobile device. The navbar continues to span further than the mobile display, and I cannot figure out what I did wrong.
The Code:
(HTML)
<nav class="navbar navbar-inverse navbar-fixed-top" role="navigation">
<div class="container">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
<div class="navbar-header">
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navigationbar">
<span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
<span class="icon-bar"></span>
</button>
<a class="navbar-brand img-responsive" href="index.html">
<img src="img/logo.png" width="320" height="85" alt="">
</a>
</div>
<!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="navigationbar">
<ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
<li>

</li>
<li>

</li>
<li class="dropdown">

<ul class="dropdown-menu">

</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>

</li>
<li>

</li>
<li>
Contact Us
</li>
<li>
<button type="button pull-right" class="btn btn-success">ORDER NOW</button>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
<!-- /.navbar-collapse -->
</div>
The Code: (CSS)
.navbar-fixed-top .nav {
padding: 20px 0;
}
.navbar-fixed-top .navbar-brand {
padding: 0 15px;
}
.page-content {
padding-top: 40px;
}
.img-center {
display: block;
margin: 0 auto;
}
.navbar .brand {
max-height: 40px;
max-width: 30%;
overflow: visible;
padding-top: 0;
padding-bottom: 0;
}
I notice you in your html code, you typed fixed height and width, which cancels the img-responsive class.
Start by removing that and go from there...enter link description here

I'm using a fixed navbar on my website. The problem I have right now is whenever I increase the height of the logo, the logo goes outside parent navbar. I'm wanting to change that behavior so that navbar increases its height to adapt to new children height so that logo stays contained.
.logo {
max-height: 75px;
padding: 1%;
padding-top:2.35%;
}
.navbar-brand {
padding: 0px !important;

.navbar-brand .logo{

.navabar-custom{

.navabar-custom a{

I guess you are facing the problem with your stylesheet. Using only bootstrap everything is working fine. View the fiddle in full page. you will find the correct output.

I need to expand my searchbar 'navbarSearchQuery' so that it's bigger (~280px) when the page is larger then a phone size.
And when it's a phone I want it to span across the whole top of the page when the page gets shrunk down.
Here is what I've tried and a fiddle example.
I'm having a problem with too much space in between the search bar and the 'browse' dropdown in a size greater then a phone. And I can't seem to get the width set right on the searchbar when it's in a phone size.
#navbarSearchQuery {
float: left;
margin-top: 8px;
margin-left: 15px;
width: 280px;
}
.navbar-inline {
display: inline-flex;
width: 80%

On the same basis as the other answer of using media queries. The difference is mine has a different response on a mobile device.

#navbarSearchQuery {
margin:8px 15px;
}
.navbar-inline {
display: inline-flex;
/* This makes the search bar stretch across the whole screen except
for the drop down menu area */
width:calc(100% - 59px);
}
#media screen and (min-width: 360px) {
#navbarSearchQuery {
width:280px;
}
}
I've been struggling the last several hours with positioning my logo just to the right of the centered navigation links in a responsive Navbar. Tried dozens of ways to get this to work without any luck. I left most of the CSS for the Navbar intact; BootStrap 3. Any assistance would be greatly

Your html had unclosed divs, extra divs, wrong classes, and lots of issues. It's best to follow examples on the GetBootstrap.com to the letter and comment and indent your code. When you have a problem that requires getting help, always make an effort to use clean, valid, html with following the documentation.
The .navbar for Bootstrap is very specific, it's left or right and that's it. You have to understand CSS and positioning etc., to change it around. And you also have to be adept at responsive CSS and become very fluent with the Bootstrap CSS as well.
This is not the finished product. The height of the navbar in this situation is dependent on the height of the tallest child, the logo. The logo is 60px tall with 10px padding on the top and bottom, 80px line-height on the first child of the links is used to make it center inside there. Otherwise there would be a lot more CSS to create.

My navbar seems to go out of whack. It's especially evident when I view the site on my mobile device, or just shrink my desktop window.
Below is a link to my site along with the code. I would love for my name to fit between my projects tap on the left and my e-mail and twitter icons on the right. Thank you for your help and time.

You were using some incorrect classes, missing tags (on the right aligned stuff), unclosed tag (collapse), and were using an outdated attribute from ancient history ( align="center") Also, you don't need to wrap the name inside a div.
CSS
