I have a cross-platform project that is using ServiceStack.text. THe PCL does not support Windows Phone 8/8.1. I thought I could try to compile it from source but it seems that the WP8 project in Github does not compile.
Has anyone gotten this to work? Any tips to share?

I built an AIR native extension with following setup:
Visual studio 2005 for building my dll
Flash CS6 IDE with AIR SDK 3.2 to create SWC from my AS3 source
The namespace version of my ANE is 33.1
ADT (AIR SDK 33.1)
I tested the ANE with FlashDevelop 5.3.3.1 and the ANE works as expected on a machine that I use for development. However, when I test the same ANE in FlashDevelop on a different machine, the AIR can't find a necessary method in the native side implementation (Error code #3500). I am using the same version of FlashDevelop with same AIR SDK (33.1) in both machines.
It seems that for some reason AIR could not load the dll in second machine (but does so in my development machine), and I am not sure why. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
You are probably missing some of the dependency dlls, most likely part of the vc++ redistributable package or potentially .net if you are using any of that functionality.
Try to install the VC++ redist on your test machine:

I have a problem when I use the Windows App Certification Kit with the SharPDF-SL.dll. The test fails and says
The binary SharpPDF-SL.dll is built in debug mode.
I downloaded this library with NuGet so I can't rebuild the dll in release mode. Appreciate any help!
I managed to fix this bug. I compiled it for WP8.1 Silverlight project. If someone have the same problem, I share my solution.

i would recommend you to use Cordova. Why? Yes, there is no realy reason why to do this, It's rather a question of what you like to work with.
I'm using Cordova. Maybe you read the Getting started guide and then the following documentation.
After you installed all, you can open up the CMD and create a new cordova project. If you want to know, how to do this, go on with the posted link above. A little bit under the setup instructions you can find a Guide which explains you, how to setup a new project and so on.
If you work with Cordova, you need Eclipse and i would recommend you to install Genymotion for having more options of deploying an app to a device.
Later on, if you would like to convert an Application to another platform you can use the Phonegap Build from Adobe. But normaly you can use your code like you wrote it for android 1:1 for iOS. Maybe there are some tiny differences, but they would'nt be fixed by the phonegap build i think. So... i would say there is no way to say "You should work with Phonegap" or "You should work with Cordova" it's your choice.
If you want to build app for android locally you'll need android SDK. This is because phonegap/cordova uses the android SDK to wrap the app.
Basically phonegap/cordova uses the SDK to compile the project for android platform and to build the APK file which can be installed in devices. You can interpret as Phonegap/cordova cli is an interface between android technology and cross platform technology. Similarly iOS will need some native technology to work with phonegap. Thiese SDK helps to build and package the app for their own platform which you've written in HTML/CSS/Javascript.
Good morning.
I am trying to setup haxe development tools in monodevelop as shown in this tutorial.
My problem is i can't find the haxe language binding the in add-in manager.
Does anyone know the solution to this issue?
Best regards
Guilherme Silva
Even the haxe binding dated 14/3/2013 only works for Monodevelop 3.0. I was able to download Monodevelop 3.0.6 from sourceforge. If it still doesn't work through the add-in manager, you can manually download it (link below) and install by file.

I ran into this problem too. I believe it's because the Haxe language binding doesn't currently support (MonoDevelop/Xamarin Studio) version 4. And they don't currently seem to offer trunk builds, so we might be out of luck!

I am developing an as3 application intended to be published with AIR.
I use the 4.6 version of Flex SDK with the flash builder plugin for eclipse.
I can launch/debug my app via eclipse without any problems. I export a valid version of the app and get my air installer. When I install and launch my app, I get a blank screen...
I don't know how to debug this. It seems that I miss something in the publication configuration but I don't know what.
I have been searching the web for hours and didn't find any solution, hope somebody can help me here !
Thanks for any help.
It simply was a real as3 error that didn't show up on debug mode...
When allowing the debug mode on the AIR application I learned that the property mouseChildren cannot be set on SimpleButton.
I got the same problem with my app and I finally found a way to display the error in the package app:
You just have to add a file named debug into your app/META-INF/AIR folder.
