You are trying to overlay a lightweight Swing component on top of a heavyweight AWT Canvas.
Use:
JPopupMenu.setDefaultLightWeightPopupEnabled(false);
This is what the example media player provided by vlcj does:

Adobe Air - Starling/Features | Controls and device simulator

I have few questions here, regarding creating app in Adobe Air using Starling and feathers.
I created yet a very simple app, which has Feathers list controller with static data provided to its dataProvider. According to the code it should work fine, but there are three major issues I am facing.
1: Touch/Click Positions
I am using:
list.addEventListener( Event.CHANGE, list_changeHandler );
Now the problem is, clicking coordinates are not correct. Clicking on 3rd Item triggered 4th item, to trigger 3rd, 2nd item needs to be clicked it's half way through etc.
2: Nothing, without Theme
I am using a custom theme, came along with a tutorial. If I don't use the theme, I am unable to see anything on the screen, somehow.
3: Resolution (Device Simulator) Problem
Though buggy, but it works with Theme, but my app doesn't fit with the resolution for each device simulator. Either its, iPad or iPhone 4 or any android simulator.
Also, can anyone please also explains, what is significance and use of Context3D render mode in starling class.
Any help is appreciated:
Thanks in advance
Waqar Iqbal
Starling is a Stage3D framework that displays content directly on graphic card using Context3D. Everything displayed by Starling is always under the regular display list. Feather is a component framework based on Starling.
Stage3D cannot handle any mouse operations so Starling and Feather simulate all their mouse event (those mouse event never really happen anywhere, they are created by calculation of mouse position on the stage)
not sure, never used Feather
Starling does not handle screen density and dpi calculation, if you want your app to fit any screen you'll have to handle it yourself.
I think you should see the example carefully. if u want to use any feathers component either you have to use feathers theme or custom theme.
if you use feather theme you need to provide theme path and before using any component you need to initialize that theme.Then use component any where.without theme you will not see any thing.
1: Touch/Click Positions
please provide minTouchHeight in class theme of DefaultListItemRenderer like:-
renderer.minWidth = this.gridSize;
renderer.minHeight = this.gridSize;
renderer.minTouchWidth = this.gridSize;
renderer.minTouchHeight = this.gridSize;
2: Nothing, without Theme,
3: Resolution (Device Simulator) Problem
Follow the example given in feather library
feathers-2.1.1\themes\MetalWorksMobileTheme\source\feathers\themes

Adobe Captivate move Playbar to custom position on page

Is it possible to move the playbar into a custom position on a slide not connected to the borders?
My company wants to migrate to captivate and we need to position the controls on a certain position in our slides, such as in the frame of the course.
Needs to be html5 compatible as well if that makes any difference.
Thanks
you can manipulate the playbar using javascript, which you can set to execute when the first slide loads.
playbar.style.marginTop = "20px" will push it down a bit for example

audiotrack position update windows phone

I am playing audio through the background audio player agent. How do I display a progress bar in the foreground indicating what position is the track currently add, like the built-in music player.
At Rob Crocombe blog you can find how to make a progressbar and use it with Background audio player. It works basing on Dispatcher Timer, which you start along with play button - the music is playing in background, timer is working in main UI and it's updating progres bar.
On the other hand, if you want want to make a slider (to be able to jump to selected position) you can use (as it's showed in blog) SuperSlider from Toolkit or you can customize your own slider as it showed here.
I done this same using Media element there i used a progressbar and Dispatcher timer on dispatcher timer tik event i updated the status of progress bar

Flash Object to small for Security "Window"

I have made a flash as3 project in adobe flash pro with the dimensions 20px x 150px.
i would like to ceep it this size, but the problem is that my application needs to ask for the MICROPHONE premissions
( like in the image )
but this only happens if the flash object is big enough.
are there any workarounds with maybe the "overflow = visible" method or something ?
thx for any help
Here are a couple of options:
Temporarily increase the dimensions of the SWF in HTML. I've never done this, but I imagine it would work and is the most simplest solution.
Use wmode="transparent" or wmode="opaque" in your embed code. In both of these modes you can layer HTML on top of or underneath the Flash object. The SWF should be sized so that it is big enough to display the dialog. When the dialog is not visible, you can hide portions of the Flash app by covering them with HTML.
I've used the 2nd option successfully, not for this purpose, but for showing some HTML elements (arrow images and text) to guide the user through these "allow" camera/microphone dialogs.
For both of these options to work, you need to be able to detect when the user has closed the dialog. Though there is no official Flash API for doing this, however, there are some good work arounds for doing that.

Is editing parent html page from the embedded flash file possible?

A client wants the company I work for to build an expandable flash banner, I'm a dev, so my solution is: stack 2 flash banners, small one visible, big one on top of it, with display:none, catch the click event, animate the big one into position.
The client wants it done without javascript (their banner rotation network doesn't support additional javascript).
I'm baffled, as I have no clue how a flash file can modify it's own html embed code and the css styles and as far as I'm aware, it's not possible.
Any suggestions/ideas? Is there an api in flash to talk to the html file, is there some actionscript magic that could make this happen?
Thank you for your time
You can talk to the parent HTML file via the ExternalInterface API.
You can pass the call() method entire javascript functions to do what you need. This way, you don't have to add extra javascript to the parent HTML file.
For example:
ExternalInterface.call("function() { document.getElementById(\'foo\').dosomemagichere; }");
