Use Beam files to start an application in Elixir - configuration

I am working on Elixir project where i have to register three dependencies say "xxx, yyy & zzz" for the project. I have done deps.get on those repositories and compiled that. But, i checked after compilation no ".app" file is generated for xxx dependency but only beam files. yyy & zzz got compiled with .app files and application got started as well. So, Can i use generated/compiled xxx beam files in mix.exs anyhow to start an application for xxx dependency.Application is defined like below in mix.exs file,

mod: {Practice, []}]
end

If the application has no app file, you do not need to specify it in the applications list as you did in your code snippet. Instead just pass app: false as an option where the dependency is defined.

Docstrings are not generated on Read the Docs with Sphinx autodoc and napoleon extensions

I am using the Sphinx autodoc and napoleon extensions to generate the documentation for my project (Qtools). This works well on my local machines. I am using Sphinx 3.1.2 (or higher). However, when I build the documentation on Read the Docs (RTD), only text added directly to the reStructuredText files that form the source of the documentation is processed. The docstrings that are supposed to be pulled in by autodoc do not appear in the HTML documentation generated by RTD. So for example in docs\source\section2_rsdoc.rst I have:

In other words, all directives are apparently ignored, and hyperlinks to other functions are not added. I have examined several basic guidance documents such as this one, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. RTD builds the documentation without any errors or warnings. In RTD advanced settings I have:
Documentation type: Sphinx HTML
Requirements file: requirements.txt
Python interpreter: CPython 3.x
Install Project: no
Use system packages: no
Python configuration file: blank
Enable PDF build: no
Enable EPUB build: no
I haven't touched any other settings.
In conf.py I have tried the following variations of line 15: sys.path.insert(0, os.path.abspath('.')), sys.path.insert(0, os.path.abspath('../..')) and the current sys.path.insert(0, os.path.abspath('../../..')). None of those made any difference.
I would be grateful for any help!
RTD builds the documentation without any errors or warnings
This is slightly incorrect. As you can see in the build logs, autodoc is emitting numerous warnings like this one:
WARNING: autodoc: failed to import class 'ResponseSpectrum' from module 'qtools'; the following exception was raised:
No module named 'qtools'
This has happened for all your variations of sys.path.insert, as you can see in some past builds.
Trying to make it work this way is tricky, since Read the Docs does some magic to guess the directory where your documentation is located, and also the working directory changes between commands.
Instead, there are two options:
Locate where the conf.py is located (see How do you properly determine the current script directory?) and work out a relative package from there.
Invest some time into making your code installable using up-to-date Python packaging standards, for example putting all your sources inside a qtools directory, and creating an appropriate pyproject.toml file using flit.

"polymer build" inconsistently copies extraDependencies

I'm using polymer-cli 1.5.7 on different projects. In some projects, the extraDependencies "client/bower_components/webcomponentsjs/*.js" copies all 8 JS files into build/es5-bundled, build/es6-bundled, and build/es6-unbundled. In another very similar project (both modeled on the Shop app), with the same extraDependencies in polymer.json, not all JS files are copied into build/es5-bundled and build/es6-bundled. Both are missing webcomponents-loader.js and build/es5-bundled is also missing custom-elements-es5-adapter.js. All 8 JS files are in build/es6-unbundled.
Naturally the project won't run without webcomponents-loader.js, which I must copy in by hand.
What could be wrong with my setup or the CLI?
Maybe check your "entrypoint" or "shell" in polymer.json?
I had similar problems with bundling until I realized I changed my primary app component in index.html without modifying setup json.

How to setup limeJS in a totally offline workspace

I'm trying to setup limeJS, the issue is the Internet connection is a problem. I had closure library, box2d, closure compiler and closure templates downloaded separately as .rar files, but I can't find a guide anywhere to set it up like this, everyone just uses(and with reason!!!) the python bin/lime.py init command to get it working. I managed to figure out(yay!) how to setup box2d and closure library but what about the other two?
My laptop is running 64 bits Windows 7. Any help appreciated
All I need is an advice on directory structure, like where to drop the compiler.jar and soy templates .js files, so that when I run the update/create command it doesn't try to download the compiler or templates like it does right now.
I got it working, after taking a quick look at the lime.py file it told me everything I needed, for example both the SoyJs templates file and the compiler need to be in the /path/to/lime/bin/external folder and for example, the lime.py file was expecting a compiler file named compiler-dateOfLatestCompiler.jar instead of compiler.jar.
In general, If you have LimeJS built up in one machine using Python and all, you can just copy paste the whole package anywhere you want and use it just as ususal.
You don't need network once you have all the files/codes for Lime is downloaded.
Infact, you dont even need python for normal development tasks(Python is required to build your js file once you complete development though)

Building Windows Store app programmatically

We have a requirement of creating several Windows 8 apps for tablets. There is a common solution and news apps are created by passing different resource to the same code.
For Mobile it was a cakewalk - Used the Microsoft.Build.Evaluation.Project class to get the xap file.
But for Surface, building from code does not give the direct appx output, while building using MSBuild gives appx as the output.
I tried several methods to avoid calling MSBuild from C#(by creating a Command Process) like creating a zip file - myapp.appx - and then signing it using this c++ code. It didn't workout because of an extern reference and I gave up.
Then I tried to use SignTool.exe by creating a Command Process in C#. That too failed.
So, I am wondering if there is any way to build an appx directly from C# without MSBuild.
The reason why I am trying to avoid MSBuild is to get a status from the build process, which Microsoft.Build.Evaluation.Project.Build() provides.
First try adding a pfx key to your project and then try the build via Microsoft.Build.Evaluation.Project.Build() again. The pfx is required from what I read:

So then the trick would be to use SignTool to get the pfx in the first place and update the project with that pfx, but first see if the above works.

How do I disable code generation in my test plugin?

I have a couple of test files written in my DSL in my tests plugin/project. Most of the tests use inline multi-line strings and Xtend but in four cases, I need to test code which does some magic with URLs and the classpath, so I really need resources in the classpath for that.
Since loading the resources only works when the extension is correct, I can't give the files a fake extension.
Now my problem: My DSL also has a code generator. This means that eventually, I end up with a couple of generated files in places where I can't have them (they don't compile, for example, and one even contains an error to test error handling when information is split across several files).
I can't disable the Xtext nature because the tests project uses Xtend so for these files, I do need code generation.
Since the generator runs inside Eclipse (I have the DSL plugins installed for other projects), there is no way to override the code generator in Guice.
How can I disable the code generator in this case?
There is a simple way to achieve this:
Open the properties of your project
Expand the entry for your DSL
Select "Compiler"
Select "Enable project specific settings"
Disable/deselect "Compiler is activated" under "General"
If you don't have a properties entry for your DSL:
Add this fragment to your .mwe2 workflow file:
fragment = generator.GeneratorFragment {}
Regenerate your projects
Merge the new code from plugin.xml_gen into plugin.xml both in the base and the UI plugins.
The interesting parts are the two extension points org.eclipse.ui.preferencePages and org.eclipse.ui.propertyPages
