Building Windows Store app programmatically - windows-store-apps

We have a requirement of creating several Windows 8 apps for tablets. There is a common solution and news apps are created by passing different resource to the same code.
For Mobile it was a cakewalk - Used the Microsoft.Build.Evaluation.Project class to get the xap file.
But for Surface, building from code does not give the direct appx output, while building using MSBuild gives appx as the output.
I tried several methods to avoid calling MSBuild from C#(by creating a Command Process) like creating a zip file - myapp.appx - and then signing it using this c++ code. It didn't workout because of an extern reference and I gave up.
Then I tried to use SignTool.exe by creating a Command Process in C#. That too failed.
So, I am wondering if there is any way to build an appx directly from C# without MSBuild.
The reason why I am trying to avoid MSBuild is to get a status from the build process, which Microsoft.Build.Evaluation.Project.Build() provides.

First try adding a pfx key to your project and then try the build via Microsoft.Build.Evaluation.Project.Build() again. The pfx is required from what I read:
See Candy's answer here:
MSBuild target to create the .appx package
So then the trick would be to use SignTool to get the pfx in the first place and update the project with that pfx, but first see if the above works.

How load custom .net dll with accoreconsole.exe in Design Automation with all AutoCAD DLL's

I have created a AutoCAD custom .net dll for the desktop version which had some operation.
Adding multiple empty drawing documents.
Opening the existing drawing document and copying the required blocks in the newly created drawing document.
Performing some operation on them, discarding all the unnecessary drawing documents and saving one of them as an output drawing document.
I had a query regarding opening the existing document and adding the empty document using Design Automation API but I couldn't achieve it with Design Automation.
As I explored I found that only AcCoreMgd.dll and AcDbMgd.dl are allowed with accoreconsole.exe.
Load custom .net dll inside accoreconsole.exe
DLL's used by AutoCAD custom .net project for desktop version are (AcCoreMgd.dll,AcCui.dll,AcDbMgd.dll,AcMgd.dll,AcTcMgd.dll,AdUIMgd.dll)
I wanted to use all the above DLL's with Design Automation for AutoCAD.
Will you please let us know how we can use desktop versions like support in Design Automation for AutoCAD?
It is not possible to add other modules when working with Design Automation or AccCoreConsole. Please note AcCoreConsole is a Headless part of AutoCAD in other words no UI libraries are permitted. Following are the libaries that a crx app should bind.
Where XX - module version of AutoCAD release for more details
If you are developing a .NET module, you need to use following Nuget
ac1stXX.lib
acdbXX.lib
acdbmgd.lib
AcDbPointCloudObj.lib
acgeXX.lib
acgiapi.lib
acismobjXX.lib
AcMPolygonObjXX.lib
AcSceneOE.lib
axdb.lib
rxapi.lib
acbrXX.lib
acgexXX.lib
AdImaging.lib
AdIntImgServices.lib
AecModeler.lib
AsdkHlrApiXX.lib
acapp_crx.lib
AcCamera.lib
accore.lib
AcFdEval.lib
AcPublish_crx.lib
Why do you need to open mutilple documents ?, you can insert multiple blocks from different drawings in to Host drawing. Make modifications, save and send to your Server.

SSIS Script Task - Not picking any ddl

Trying to add Newton.json & Restsharp in SSIS's Script task. But while adding I am getting a warning message also the script not working. An attached screenshot will add more points to this question.
These SSIS script projects are temporary, so anything you install via them (that is nested under them) disappears each time you exit the project. Any third party .dlls need to be in a shared area and registered via gacutil and then the reference put in the temporary project instead of installed in the temporary project.

Android Studio Gradle error: Missing project_info object

basically opening this question again because the answer is outdated, as the link now redirects to Firebase:
Gradle fails building with "Missing project_info object"
I want to attach the google-services.json file to my Android Studio project, and every time I try to download it from the developers API from Google, it gives me a json file with a large name that does't correspond to the tutorial's simple "google-services" and renaming it won't work because of this error.
Downloading it creating a new project doesn't seem possible for me now as it the page gives me another error when I click Configure a Project (I already did that before but left the project there without downloading the json file directly from there, which seems to be the problem).
Where can I safely get this file, and should I rename it or? Thanks in advance.
Apparently the solution is just following the link and creating the project with Firebase:
Then create or select a project and fill it with your app data that shoul look like this (the SHA-1 key should be found in your console log when clicking the button in the image:
Then add the lines of code that should be in your build.gradle(app level one and project level one), editing them with notepadd. Finally you need to sync these Gradle files, in Android Studio : File->Sync project with Gradle Files
The tutorial is very self explatanory, but for beginners like me, this could help.

Using CakePHP 3.0 plugin

I'm currently building a new CakePHP app with version 3.0.0-RC1, and trying to install and use the jasig/phpCAS plugin. Using this guide, I've run the following command from the command prompt: composer require jasig/phpcas
This correctly copies the jasig/phpcas files into the vendor directory of my app, but one of the other files that the guide says should be updated (vendor/cakephp-plugins.php) doesn't even exist.
I've had a tough time accessing the plugin. I want to be able to call its static methods, and I keep getting errors of the form: Error: Class 'App\Controller\phpCAS' not found. (The exact directory in the error changes depending on where I'm calling the method from.)
I don't know if this is due to not having the cakephp-plugins.php file, or if I'm not calling the plugin correctly. It's my understanding that if the plugin is loaded I should just be able to call static methods on it like this: phpCAS::methodName()
First of all jasig/phpcas is not a CakePHP plugin. And the vendor/cakephp-plugins.php file is created by the CakePHP plugin installer, so if you don't see such a file, you seem to have either not installed any plugins yet, or you are not using a recent version of the installer, as the creation of this file has been introduced just recently.
Regarding the error about the class not being found, you are missing the leading namespace separator (\phpCAS::methodName()) to access the class in the global namespace, respectively you are missing a proper import (use phpCAS;) that would make the class available in the current namespace.
In case you are not familiar with namespaces, you may want to start with: http://php.net/namespaces

SAP HANA: not able to call xsjs file in HTML

I had an SAP UI5 application project in which one of the pages is product.html and a xsjs file getProductCat.xsjs.
Now I made some changes in HTMl page from notepad. When I try to open in HANA's web browser the changes are there but it is not able to connect to xsjs file. However, if I try to open through browser it connects to xsjs but the changes are not there, it seems it's opening the old file.
As I am new to SAP UI5 so I think I am missing some basic step.
Go to HANA client installation folder, run the following command line to get the help for HANA content activation:
C:\Program Files\sap\hdbclient>regi help activate
Action:
activate
What:
inactiveObjects (all inactive objects in the current workspace)
package (all objects in a package)
packages (all objects in a package and its sub-packages)
trackedPackages (all objects in all tracked packages and their sub-packages)
object (specific objects)
Call "regi help activate <WHAT>" for more information.
after you changed the xsjs file, did you activate it? You need to setup your workspace for the xs app. Did you?
Actually, this is not sapui5 question. This is a HANA XS application related question.
