SSRS Report Builder Center Data Bar Data Label in Column instead of on the bar - reporting-services

I am creating an SSRS report in SSRS report builder 3.0. I currently have a table where the rows have a Data Bar inside of the cells. I cant figure out how to get the data label to center on the row. I tried selecting center under the Data Bar "Custom Attributes for "bar label style" and also under the Data Label under "position". Both seem to just center the label on the Data Bar itself not on the row.
I'm under the reputation limit or i would post an image of what I'm talking about.

I realise that this is an old post, but I stumbled across this forum searching for an answer to the same question. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Christopher, in that there is no way around the issue (that I know of).
However, I have used a very simple workaround that displays the data bar and values neatly, and thought it may be useful for others.
Quite simply, I have added another column to the right of the data bar, and have entered the same field. I have then removed the borders between the two textboxes, so that it displays the data bar to the left with the values aligned to the right.
While this does not provide an answer to the question as such, I hope that it may help others with the same problem in the future.

I suspect, unfortunately, that what you seek is not possible. The reason being that the label is a part of the bar. The label is defined for the entire series, and for each label, it is positioned relative to the bar itself. Relative to either the start or the end or the middle of the bar, but not relative to the chart's container.
What I imagine you wanting is to define something that is centered in the cell itself, which would have to be a direct component of the cell (e.g., placeholder, entered text). Unfortunately, when using a databar, you cannot add anything else into that cell.

Adding text inside a donut chart in SSRS

I have a donut type chart created in SSRS which shows progress. I however have a % that i wanted to had in the middle of the document. Is there a way to add a text/rectangle in the center? I tried using one of the data label and converted it as an expression for the % but you can't move it to the center. Any possibilities?
Late answer but may help anyway...
As told in Dale's link, textboxes over charts are not supported.
I used a single radial gauge instead which allows inside centered label.
In order to rid off this old fashioned design, you'll have to customize a couple of properties in GaugePanel, RadialScale (min value=0 max value=100 sweepangle=360 startangle=180 hide tickmarks), RadialPointer (Placement=Cross Type=Bar Barstart=0 Needlestyle=SteelthArrow), add a label (right-click on the RadialGauge) and delete the RadialRange.
But see that pretty good final result

SSRS pre-printed form second page format issue

I've not come across anything like I am looking for so either I'm either not asking the right questions (for which I will apologize for re-asking a question) or it's not been asked.
I'm working on a report to print header information onto pre-printed carbon copy forms on a continuous form feed impact printer. The form is two pages and the header for the second page only contains part of the information that the header on the first page has.
I have the first page header working fine. I played with using rectangles and it was printing on target on every other page. The problem comes in when I try to print the page two header.
The way I am formatting the headers is that I have a single cell tablix with a rectangle in the cell. I've measured out where the 11 fields belong for page one of the form and placed them on the form. This all works correctly. Below that, I've inserted a second rectangle with the add page break before property checked. In that rectangle I have two of the fields that are repeated one just above the other (field 1 and field 2). Field 1 is in exactly the same spot as it is on page one. Field 2 is higher and to the left of where it is positioned on page one. The report body has no margins. Positioning is all done directly through the elements themselves. Field 1 sits about 1/16 to 1/8 inch lower than it does on page 1 even when position top is set to 0 (and there is no page margin). I can position field 2 exactly where I want it to be however. If I have multiple forms print out, all the page ones are perfect and page 2 field 2 is spot on but page 2 field 1 is always too low.
I tried separating the rectangles but was unable to connect the dataset to the second rectangle.
Is there a better way to do this? Is there a setting I'm missing that is adding padding to the second rectangle? Any help is appreciated.
Not quite the answer that I was looking for but it nearly fixed the problem. It turns out that the field itself had padding on it. I'm not sure how as I copied and pasted it from the first page but it moved it up to a acceptable position. It is still a bit low but close enough that the requester is happy with it.

Report elements on left getting pushed down when tablix on the right side expands

I have a report with a tablix on the right side and several textboxes arranged in rows and columns on the left. While previewing the report, the tablix gets expanded with the separate values in them and because of which some of the text boxes are also getting pushed down leaving blanks spaces and making the report look unformatted.
I have attached the report format. Please let me know if you have any solution to this issue.
You need to place your report items in rectangles to stop them interacting with each other. Put your items on the left all into the same one and the table on the right into it's own.
Have you tried setting the Can Grow attribute to False or did you need it to expand? If so I would actually increase your Tablix size to the max it can to not push the text boxes and then set the property to Can Grow to false.
I think I know why rectangles didn't work for you. I have a similar report I am trying to create with the same format. I had the same problem you mentioned where white space appeared above my report objects, and the objects on the left still did not appear in the correct places.
What I found was that you need to create the rectangle first and then add objects into it. It appears that the above problem occurs when you try to place a rectangle on top of your report objects.
I know this is 4 years late, but I thought this might hopefully save someone some time.
Go to Report Properties to select columns number from 1 to 2 to see information side by side instead of going to next page.

how to make a form designer

The Problem in Hand:
I want to make a form designer where user can drag and drop fields of different type and design the layout too, some what similar to wufoo form builder but here the layout is limited to single column whereas I want to make something where user can make the layout as they want.
I understand how to do in single column view, but could not understand how to achieve multiple column layout eg: row 1 there could be 3 elements, row 2 one element stretched to full length, row 3 there could be just 2 elements etc.
What I tried:
I have tried with jquery UI sortable to make a single column layout with using div where new elements can be dragged and repositioned.
Any suggestion on how to proceed further will be helpful
I have tried searching StackOverFlow and google but could not find any link on a similar topic. If anyone could point me to the same, it will be also helpful.
When you reorder elements on wufoo form builder, you can only drag'n'drop up or down. Remove that restriction and as soon as one element is dragged across a certain threshold, it "belongs" to the next column. If the "old" column was the first or last one and the line that the element was moved over was to the "outside" of the form, add a new column there, until the maximal number of columns is reached.
If the used drags the last element of a column into another column, remove the now empty column on element-drop.
You could also remove the dynamic adding/removing of columns and juist have a button ("remove column" & "add column") to do it by code.
An example for the dropping in another column can be found here: http://jqueryui.com/sortable/#connect-lists
Hope this helped!
Edit:
http://jqueryui.com/sortable/#portlets and http://jqueryui.com/sortable/#empty-lists also have elements that you could look into. Good luck! Sounds like a nice project. Can we see any progress or beta?

SSRS 2008 and Dynamic Positioning of Text Boxes

I'm trying to produce a pay check. I will allow the user to setup the position of the items according to their check style.
From my research, it seems that the position of text boxes in SSRS is static and not dynamic. There is no "expression" option for Top/Left. I thought a way to get around this might be to make the text boxes large and overlapping and then set the padding top/left based on expressions to the positions that user has selected. However, it seems that similar to HTML, the text boxes either float around the higher level text boxes or simply drop out of view.
This would be simple if there were a way to tell SSRS not to be concerned with the order of the text boxes and simply display them overlapping, however I don't feel that there is.
Given that, what other options to I have for dynamically positioning text boxes in an SSRS 2008 report? I'm moving right along with this project but I've hit this stumbling block.
SSRS gives you a lot of options for dynamic formatting but Size and Location are fixed. You cannot change this. Overlapping of textboxes does not work in the soft-break renderers like HTML and Excel but does work in hard-break renderers like PDF or TIFF. Have you tried your padding technique and output the report as PDF?
I'm not sure what are going to do in your report, But in similar cases I usually use Space character to position a text. For instance,
IIf(Len(Fields(YourColumn.valu)) > 10, Fields(YourColumn.valu), "    ")
Note that you have to ensure it can implemented in your case or not. I'm not sure that it is helpful but as long as the location and width properties are fix this is the only option
Note 2 : I'm using Unbreakable Space character instead of simple Space so that SSRS render it without any problem
