Windows Phone 8 ApplicationBar expanded unchangable transparancy - windows-phone-8

following Code...
<!--Navigation-Bar-->
<phone:PhoneApplicationPage.ApplicationBar>
<shell:ApplicationBar IsVisible="True" ForegroundColor="White" IsMenuEnabled="True" BackgroundColor="#002B55">
<shell:ApplicationBarIconButton Click="B_Search_Click" IconUri="Images\Pic_Search.png" Text="Search"/>
<shell:ApplicationBarIconButton Click="B_Media_Click" IconUri="Images\Pic_Media.png" Text="Media"/>
<shell:ApplicationBarIconButton Click="B_Scan_Click" IconUri="Images\Pic_Scan.png" Text="Scanner"/>
<shell:ApplicationBarIconButton Click="B_Charts_Click" IconUri="Images\Pic_Charts.png" Text="Charts"/>
<shell:ApplicationBar.MenuItems>
<shell:ApplicationBarMenuItem Click="B_Logout_Click" Text="Logout"/>
</shell:ApplicationBar.MenuItems>
</shell:ApplicationBar>
</phone:PhoneApplicationPage.ApplicationBar>
gives me following ApplicationBar...
http://s14.directupload.net/file/d/3341/4xiadbvz_jpg.htm
(Solid background when expanded)
BUT if I create the AppBar in CodeBehind like this...
private void ResetApplicationBar()
{
ApplicationBar = new ApplicationBar();
ApplicationBar.BackgroundColor = Color.FromArgb(150, 0, 43, 85);;
ApplicationBar.ForegroundColor = Colors.White;
ApplicationBar.Opacity = 1;
ApplicationBarIconButton B_Search = new ApplicationBarIconButton();
B_Search.IconUri = new Uri("/Images/Pic_Search.png", UriKind.Relative);
B_Search.Text = "search";
ApplicationBar.Buttons.Add(B_Search);
B_Search.Click += new EventHandler(B_Search_Click);
(more Buttons...)
then I get that misterios unchangable Transparency...
http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/3341/zjo57e37_jpg.htm
(Half-Transparent when expanded)
How can I change the Background to solid???
-Yes I have mostly overwritten the theme
-Changing global colors doesnt work
-changing background/foreground doesnt work
-changing opacity doesnt work...
I need to generate it from code behind because im changing it dynamically in one window
(or is it possible to define multiple AppBars in markup?)
Thanks in advance!

Please try this one
ApplicationBar.BackgroundColor = Color.FromArgb(52,0,2,181);
ApplicationBar.ForegroundColor = Colors.White;
You will get the same color in designer page by this way.
This (52,0,2,181) is the conversion value of #002B55

On a fresh project, everything seems fine, here.
"- changing background/foreground doesnt work
- changing opacity doesnt work..."
Using the Application Bar sample, you provided in XAML, but with Opacity=0.5, I get this :
After I click the "Change Color" button, which does ApplicationBar.Opacity = 1;, I get this result :
(The background image is slightly moved up, because in first case we provided an opacity and in the second there was none explicitly specified and it seems the app bar didn't layered over the image, but to fix this you can set an Opacity=0.999, close to 1).
It must have something to do with all the theme overwriting you have done or some customization you attempted.
If this isn't quite helpful, provide me more details and I'll try to help as I can.

Thank you very much for effort, but changing opacity didnt to 0.999 didnt help either.
I found a solution!! And its quite simple :)
I Just take the old bar instead of creating a new one:
//Old Code
ApplicationBar = new ApplicationBar();
//New Code
ApplicationBar.Buttons.Clear();
ApplicationBar.MenuItems.Clear();
Hope it helps someone!

Switching background image smoothly - Angular

I am facing problem concerning switching background in Angular 10. I managed to implement switching background image but I would like it to be smooth.
At this moment it looks kind of like the slideshow - one image disappears and the other one appears.
My piece of code looks like this:
In typescript component I hold array of variables with urls to image.
backgroundImages = ['url(/assets/img/background.jpg)', 'url(/assets/img/background2.jpg)']
And in constructor I call refresh method which basically changes the value of variable holding reference to current background
refreshBackground(backgroundNumber: number) {
this.background = this.backgroundImages[backgroundNumber]
if (backgroundNumber == this.backgroundImages.length - 1)
backgroundNumber = 0
else
backgroundNumber++
setTimeout(() => this.refreshBackground(backgroundNumber), 10000)
}
In html this variable is set to style.background
<div class="container background" [style.background]="background">
I would appreciate any help and tips and if more details are needed, ask freely.

Android ListView binding programmatically

There are many examples of doing this in axml, but I would like to have a complete binding using code behind. To be honest, I would like to have NO axml, but seems like creating all the controls programmatically is a nightmare.
I first tried the suggestions at:
MvxListView create binding for template layout from code
I have my list binding from code-behind, and I get six rows (so source binding is working); but the cells itself does not bind.
Then at the following url:
Odd issue with MvvmCross, MvxListViewItem on Android
Stuart has the following comment: Have looked through. In this case, I don't think you want to use DelayBind. DelayBind is used to delay the binding action until next time the DataContext is set. In Android's MvxAdapter/MvxListItemView case, the DataContext is passed in the ctor - so DataContext isn't set again until the cell is reused. (This is different to iOS MvxTableDataSource).
So in essence, the only example I see shows DelayBind, which shouldn't work.
Can someone please show me some examples... thanks in advance.

Cheesebaron, first of all, a huge thank you and respect for all your contributions;
Now, why not use axml? Well, as programmers, we all have our own preferences and way of doing stuff - I guess I am old school where we didn't have any gui designer (not really true).
Real reasons:
Common Style: I have a setup where Core has all the style details, including what all the colors would be. My idea is, each platform would get the style details from core and update accordingly. It's easy for me to create controls with the correct style this way.
Copy-Paste across platform (which then I can even have as linked files if I wanted). For example, I have a login screen with web-like verification, where a red error text appears under a control; overall on that screen I have around 10 items that needs binding. I have already got iOS version working - so starting on Droid, I copied the whole binding section from ios, and it worked perfectly. So, the whole binding, I can make it same across all platform... Any possible error in my way will stop at building, which I think is a major advantage over axml binding. Even the control creation is extremely similar, where I have helpers with same method name.
Ofcourse I understand all the additional layout that has to be handled; to be honest, it's not that bad if one really think it through; I have created a StackPanel for Droid which is based on WP - that internally handles all the layouts for child views; so for LinearLayout, all I do is setup some custom parameters, and let my panel deal with it. Relative is a different story; so far, I have only one screen that's relative, and I can even make it Linear to reduce my additional layout code.
So, from my humble point of view, for my style, code-behind creation allows me to completely copy all my bindings (I do have some custom binding factories to allow that), copy all my control create lines; then only adding those controls to the view is the only part that is different (then again, droid and WP are almost identical). So there is no way I can miss something on one platform and all are forced to be the same. It also allows me to change all the styles for every platform just by changing the core. Finally, any binding error is detected during compile - and I love that.
My original question wasn't about NOT using axml... it was on how to use MvxListView where all the binding is done in code-behind; as I have explained, I got the list binding, but not the item/cell binding working.
Thanks again in advance.
Here is part of my LoginScreen from droid; I think it's acceptable amount of code for being without axml file.
//======================================================================================================
// create and add all controls
//======================================================================================================
var usernameEntry = ControlHelper.GetUITextFieldCustom(this, "Username.", maxLength: 20);
var usernameError = AddErrorLabel<UserAuthorization, string>(vm => ViewModel.Authorization.Username);
var passwordEntry = ControlHelper.GetUITextFieldCustom(this, "Password.", maxLength: 40, secureTextEntry: true);
var passwordError = AddErrorLabel<UserAuthorization, string>(vm => ViewModel.Authorization.Password);
var loginButton = ControlHelper.GetUIButtonMain(this);
var rememberMe = new UISwitch(this);
var joinLink = ControlHelper.GetUIButtonHyperLink(this, textAlignment: UITextAlignment.Center);
var copyRightText = ControlHelper.GetUILabel(this, textAlignment: UITextAlignment.Center);
var copyRightSite = ControlHelper.GetUIButtonHyperLink(this, textAlignment: UITextAlignment.Center);
var layout = new StackPanel(this, Orientation.Vertical)
{
Spacing = 15,
SubViews = new View[]
{
ControlHelper.GetUIImageView(this, Resource.Drawable.logo),
usernameEntry,
usernameError,
passwordEntry,
passwordError,
loginButton,
rememberMe,
joinLink,
ControlHelper.GetSpacer(this, ViewGroup.LayoutParams.MatchParent, weight: 2),
copyRightText,
copyRightSite
}
};
I just came across a similar situation myself using Mvx4.
The first link you mentioned had it almost correct AND when you combine it from Staurts comment in the second link and just remove the surrounding DelayBind call, everything should work out ok -
public class CustomListItemView
: MvxListItemView
{
public MvxListItemView(Context context,
IMvxLayoutInflater layoutInflater,
object dataContext,
int templateId)
: base(context, layoutInflater, dataContext, templateId)
{
var control = this.FindViewById<TextView>(Resource.Id.list_complex_title);
var set = this.CreateBindingSet<CustomListViewItem, YourThing>();
set.Bind(control).To(vm => vm.Title);
set.Apply();
}
}
p.s. I have asked for an Edit to the original link to help others.

Content Transition Windows Phone

I have 2 viewboxes in my page and currently I am doing this:
ViewBox1.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed;
ViewBox2.Visibility = Visibiltiy.Visible;
That means upon some button press, I am hiding first viewbox and showing the second one. Now, upon hiding I want a simple transition animation like viewbox1 sliding out and viewbox2 sliding in, something like this.
I have installed WPF toolkit, but can't figure this out.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Currently I have found this solution, this is actually full page transition but it works for me, I am sharing this code here:
SlideTransition transition = new SlideTransition();
transition.Mode = SlideTransitionMode.SlideLeftFadeIn;
PhoneApplicationPage page = (PhoneApplicationPage)((PhoneApplicationFrame)Application.Current.RootVisual).Content;
ITransition trans = transition.GetTransition(page);
trans.Completed += delegate
{
trans.Stop();
};
trans.Begin();

as3 .text not working

So heres the code Im using:
endScreen.scorePrint.text = String(score);
endScreen.distancePrint.text = String(distance);
And it doesent show anything, while the very same code in other places in my app works, I tried to embed fonts and stuff but I still get blank space. what am I doing wrong?
EDIT:
endScreen is a MovieClip without AS linkage, its manipulated by .visible , scorePrint and distancePrint are a part of that MovieClip.
scorePrint and distancePrint are identical in all but names and are as following:
classic text -> dynamic text
Try
endScreen.scorePrint.text = "" + score;
if not, then does
trace("" + score);
show anything?
I fixed it, the problem was anti-aliasing. I changed from anti-aliasing for readability to device fonts. that fixed both fields.
Thanks for support :)

ColorPicker not editable in Form -> FormItem

Please note the remark mentioned WORKAROUND at the end of this question.
Based on a Dictionary based specification, one of my classes creates a Form programmatically.
Adding TextInput or DatePicker to FormItemss works as expected.
Unfortunately, the following code just creates a colored rectangle, not the actual picker:
ti = new ColorPicker();
ColorPicker( ti ).selectedColor = TAColor( _spec[ key ].value ).color;
and later on
formItem.addElement( ti );
The Form is embedded in a TitleWindow component presented using
PopUpManager.addPopUp(...);
When added to TitleWindow, it shows up correctly, within Form->FormItem not:
I can't image, why the picker doesn't appear. Do you?
WORKAROUND:
If I wrap the ColorPicker inside a Group things work:
ti = new Group();
Group( ti ).addElement( new ColorPicker() );
In this case, the ColorPicker appears as editable.
Still, I'd be too happy to learn what the problem with my initial solution. Bug?
A DateField (which extends ComboBase like ColorPicker) behaves properly in a spark Form. But in the ColorPicker, the mouse down handler of the button never gets called. I think that maybe the skin part that handles the mouse clicks (it must be a button) is not properly dimensionned, and the result is it is not shown. I've come to this conclusion because within an mx Form, the ColorPicker doesn't display as it does when it is added to the regular displaylist...
Hope this helps...
In the code you've provided, you never add the colorPicker as a child to any parent container; as such it will never show up anywhere.
You probably need to do something like:
formItem.addChild(ti );
[or for a Spark formItem]:
formItem.addElement(ti );
I'm confused as to why you're seeing a rectangle.
