Serial Number in SSRS Pivot Report - reporting-services

I am trying to put a column in SSRS report with running serial number. The report is pivoted in SSRS. I tried the same with RunningValue function and RowNumber too. But still it could not generate it in the way i want.
It's generating the rownumber on raw data from which pivot is being created.
I tried all these which all are of no mean : -
=RowNumber("Row_Group_Name")
=RowNumber(Nothing)
=RunningValue(Fields!FieldName.Value, Count, Nothing)
etc.
Generated Serial Numbers : -
4
8
10
16
etc.
Please help me.

I got the answer: -
=RunningValue(Fields!FieldName.Value, CountDistinct, Nothing)

SSRS standalone formulas

I have been working on this for days without being able to solve yet. It's probably simple if you know what you're doing. I'm simply trying to make a standalone formula that is not in a tablix or anything, it's just in a textbox.
Here is an example of my Dataset called Dataset1:
What I am trying to get is a sum of the Actual Cost when the Category is Labor from Dataset1. My current expression is:
=Sum(iif(Fields!Category.Value="Labor", Fields!ActualCost.Value, 0), "Dataset1")
I refer to Dataset1 as my scope because otherwise, I get an error about using an aggregate expression without a scope.
The report runs but shows #Error in the textbox that has my expression in it. When I replace Fields!ActualCost.Value with a 1, I get the answer, 5, which is the correct number of rows with Labor as the Category. But it won't let me sum the numbers in the ActualCost column where Category is Labor.
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? I feel like it's something to do with aggregating, but I'm not sure. Thanks!
It may have to do with the datatype of fields!ActualCost.Value. If that field is a decimal (regardless of how you have it formatted), try using cdec(0) instead of just 0 in your expression.

how use average function based in two differents dataset fields ssrs if one depend from the other one

im working with report that visual studio 2010 have, then i have a chart series with four fields planta, date, and densidad, i have to get the average of all the data that densidad has but only when the date is the same for example
Date Densidad
11/05/2015 2
11/05/2015 3
12/05/2015 4
in this case i have two data from 11/05/2015 the only for that date i must get the average that in this case should be 2,5 , ive been looking for an expression that works but i ve found anything, please?
Add a new row group, then go to the group's properties and group by date. In your tablix, add in AVG(Yourdataset!Yourvalue.Value) next to the date. This should group by date.
Your group expression should look like this:
=FormatDateTime(Fields!dates.Value, DateFormat.ShortDate)

SSRS merging columns based on vales

I am working on a matrix report in SSRS and currently have a column for each day. e.g day 1, 2, 3,4,5 and so on. I would like to merge those columns for the first 5 days so days 1-5 in column and name it <5. I have been working on expressions using if statements and switch but still not working.
Thanks
You can give a try to following steps:
Open dataset properties and under Fields, create a new calculated field (Let say name of the new field is YourDayFieldName_New) and put following expressions:
=IIf(Fields.YourDayFieldName.Value<=5,”<5”, CSTR(Fields.YourDayFieldName.Value))
Now in your matrix, do the column grouping on this calculated field (=Fields! YourDayFieldName_New.Value)

SSRS Expression with parameter in WHERE clause

In SSRS, I'm trying to calculate the average number of months a client used a program. The programID is the parameter for the whole report. I'm trying to achieve this (not written with real syntax):
=Avg(Fields!length_of_stay.Value, 0))/30.0 WHERE programid = #ProgramID
Using this question, I came up the the following code which is producing an incorrect answer. I tested in SSMS to get the actual values to compare to SSRS results.
=Avg(IIF(Fields!programid.Value = Parameters!ProgramID.Value, Fields!Length_of_Stay.Value, 0))/30.0
The "/30" is used since the value is in days and I need months. I think the issue is using the parameter value chosen; this is my first report trying to calculate expressions with parameters.
Avg returns the average of all non-null numeric values. 0 is not null so it gets included in the average, distorting your result for every row with a different PragramId. Try using Nothing instead:
=Avg(IIF(Fields!programid.Value = Parameters!ProgramID.Value, Fields!Length_of_Stay.Value, Nothing))/30.0

SSRS 2005 Matrix Reports - Editing Total

This seems as though it should be simple, but appears not to be.
In SSRS 2005 I've written a matrix report and added some fields, one of which has the formula: If (x / y >= n, 1, 0). I've called this field 'Accuracy'. The report aggregates this field across a number of individuals and then for a number of days.
Ideally I want a subtotal that gives a sum of the 'Accuracy' figures (so we can say we had n people who were accurate today). However, the subtotal calculates the formula for the totals of x and y. Subtotals is only ever going to be 1 or 0.
Any ideas as to how I can get a Count of Accuracy displayed on the matrix report? I've tried creating various fields along the lines of Sum(accuracy) and Count(accuracy) - these return an error when the report is run.
Thanks!
maybe report behaves 0 and 1 as a boolean value. you can make a dll that do this work for you and reference to your report and use the methods that exist for this work in dll.
Try using the running value. You could put the expression inside it or inside the report code block and just call it.
=RunningValue(what to count, sum, scope)
=RunningValue(Fields!Cost.Value, Sum, Nothing)
