How can I change generated name for canvas image? - html

In FF when I do right-click on canvas and select "Save Image As ..." the offered name is canvas.png always. Could't I change it?

I'm not sure what you're using to get that right-click functionality (unless its built into a particular browser), but either way the answer is "no" unless you are going to generate a new file on your server to put as a glass-pane over the canvas for right-click purposes.
Or a little more simply, you can't define in JavaScript the name of any particular file, it has to be decided on the server or not at all.

how to fast convert bootstrap button into png image file?

that I would like to say, there is a good (or maybe not) bootstrap framework that can generate buttons with simple code.
I really like how these buttons look, and I want to use them in another software, but for this I need them in PNG format.
Why is not satisfied with the option "manually" - the buttons need a lot and not always needed, but when needed - they need fast, do not really want to spend a lot of time creating buttons ...
Current process:
Open page (for example https://www.tutorialrepublic.com/twitter-bootstrap-button-generator.hhp) to set the necessary parameters (button name, size, type, color, icon ...)
Copy the whole screen to the buffer
Insert a screenshot from the buffer into an image editor
Make necessary cropping of this picture, leave only the image of the button itself
Save the result in png format
Use the image in your application.
That I would like to receive:
Open (no difference - internet page, any software, etc...)
Specify the required parameters (button text, size, color, icon)
Press the button - save to PNG, without loss of quality.
Use the image in your application
Maybe someone already solved a similar problem and translated it into a semi-automatic mode, share the implementation.
I use Win10 at workstation
The easiest way would be to manually crop them by Snipping Tool. This works great if you have just a few buttons.
But if you want to take them automatically, I think you can use an python/opencv script to idendify buttons, crop and save them.
Ok, solution found - ShareX (https://getsharex.com/) software with 1 hotkey (ctrl + printscreen) - open crop dialog with zoom, after crop - makes the png-file automatic

razor blade with final cut pro X, duplicate instead of cut my plan

when I used the razor blade, it multiply my plan by two instead of making a cut where I need on the plan ?
Something about the settings ?
Someone has an idea ?
thank you
No matter what version of application you are using FCP7 or FCPX, the reason for such unpredictable behaviour of the app is a bug. Seemingly it's internal error of mp4 structure, unless you accidentally move a content inside a clip with a Slip Tool.
Or you have accidentally applied Cmd-V (Paste) command instead Cmd-B (Blade Tool) on your keyboard.
Or you've made a copy of a clip pressing Alt+LMB while dragging.

Duplicate a tab in Chrome without Reloading the Page?

Is there any way to completely duplicate the state of a current tab in Google Chrome? I want an exact copy of the current state of the page without having to reload the page in another tab.
An example use case:
While browsing a "slideshow" on a news website, I want to preserve the current slide that I'm on, but create a duplicate so that I can continue viewing the next slide. If I simply Right-Click and "Duplicate" the tab, the new page will completely Reload, reprocessing all of the Javascript and running the pre-slideshow advertisement again.
In short "NO" you can't.
I am not expert on this
but a similar behavior can be achieved in some ways i know :
Dump the whole DOM
Never tried this though. You can convert the DOM to a string, pass it to the new window and then parse it as a document. This will let you lose your DOM events and State manipulation javascript. (But that's good for your case)
var dtab = window.open('about:blank', 'duplicate_a_tab');
dtab.document.open();
dtab.document.write("... yout html string ..");
dtab.document.close();
Develop an extension
Let the users continue on the current tab with the current state, your extension should be able to capture the screenshot of that area and open that screenshot in new tab. There are plenty of screenshot taking extensions are available in the market.
If that website is your own
You can develop your services that uses state locally like progressive web apps. Give a link separately to 'duplicate' which will eventually open the same URL in different tab with the same local state and with the flag do-not-sync.
This will not work when the user uses browser inbuilt duplicate
feature.

Creating Chrome popup with a C++ program

Problem context:
I have a C++ program and a web presence. Currently the way things are working I have made a control panel with javascript and html. And it send commands via an unimportant communication medium to control things or get information from the C++ program.
Now, when the C++ program launches, I'm making it run a
ShellExecute(NULL, "open", addressBuffer," --new-window", NULL, SW_NORMAL);
This is a way of launching the default browser with the given address. The addressBuffer in this case points to an intermediate HTML file that quickly turns around and uses the
window.open()
in Javascript to open the final popup, then closes itself.
The result is the user now has the popup control panel that I want them to have but the user's main browser window also gets given focus, un-minimized, and placed on a different tab than the one they had selected. (Basically pops up out of nowhere and selects a another tab)
Problem:
I'm looking for a way to launch a Chrome popup, without disturbing a previously open browser window. Any ideas or solutions would be very helpful.
Lastly, it's worth noting that the " --new-window" from the code above doesn't actually open a new window like you would expect. In this case it's actually doing nothing... If it did work, none of this would really be an issue.
I know this is wordy so thanks in advance for you time!

Alright, I came up with a solution.
Something about how ShellExecute processes it's commands was preventing the command line args to be passed in correctly.
My work-around includes grabbing the path to Chrome from the registry,
HKET_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\chrome.exe
Then simply doing a system() command with the chrome path "--new-window" and the web path.
Then I let the intermediate html page open it's popup and close itself.
Tada done.
Thanks.

IntelliJ navigation

I'm using IntelliJ to do Java Development for an application where we use JSF in a few places. In the .jsp file I have defined my backing class and the code runs properly.
My question is: How do I set up my environment so that when I center click on the method names, which use EL format, IntelliJ navigates to the proper method in the proper class.
Having taken a quick look at my IntelliJ install, if you go to File->Settings, there should be a keymap section under the IDE Settings header. Make a new keymap profile other than default. You can probably just copy the default and give it a new name. In the actions window, open Main Menu->Go To and there should be an action called "Implementation(s)". The description of this action seems to match what you are looking for. Click Add Mouse Shortcut, and center click in the click pad area to set it. I didn't want to actually change my settings, so I didn't finish the steps myself, but this should do what you are wanting to do. It may warn you that you are overwriting a shortcut to another action, so be aware of that.
Hope this helps.
This is using IntelliJ Version 9 beta.
in JSP I am using something like this
<%--#elvariable id="owner" type="com.mysite.data.Owner"--%>
This is a comment specific for intellij I guess. In this way when the owner variable is used anywhere like:
${owner.name}
is known to intellij that is of a Owner type. Intellij then automatically go to the class definition by pressing CTRL+B or middle mouse button.
This is working with intellij idea 9 beta and I remember that this feature was broken in 8.1.1. Prob it is working again in 8.1.x
Probably the same approch will also work for JSF.
