I have a Report in which I have used 8 tables and there is header on top of page. Condition is that header should come for 5th table and repeat on every page of 5th table. If 5th table data comes in 4 pages than header should come for these 4 pages not for other pages.
Instead of putting the header on the report, put the header directly on the table, and then go to the table properties and select "Repeat header columns on each page".
At last find Solution:-
Place two rectangles, one inside the other.
Place your table inside the inner rectangle and set it to always be visible.
Set the inner rectangle's Page Break to Insert After Rectangle.
Set the outer rectangle's visibility to use your conditional expression.
The page break and the conditional visibility are now separated, and the inner rectangle's page break won't be processed if it is not visible, but it will if it is visible.
Its not showing effect in report viewer but in print and pdf it shows effects.

I am writing an SSRS report that contains a (nested) tablix. The last row of the inner tablix can contain a "large" chunk of text (say, between half a page to 3 pages typically).
With, say, half a page's worth of text in the last row, the report looks great on the Report Server, but when I render it as a PDF, a newline gets inserted before the last row. This puts that whole row/box on a page of its own.
What I want, instead, is for the row to remain attached to the rest of the tablix, and just render until it his the bottom of the page, and then do a newline and move on with the rest of the row.
Is this possible?
I was able to fix this issue myself. I clicked on the last row/cell in the tablix and disabled "Keep Together on One Page". This allowed it to split in the middle, so it didn't need to jump to the next page to stay together.
We have a report that gets populated by stored procedure. In the datatable we have a column "RowType" which is set to either 1, 2 or 3.
1 : Normal data row
2 : Important data row (In the picture this is the 1st row of data, the bold one)
3 : Devider rows. These are the rows with which we are having some issues. They are the two rows at the bottom of the image with the grey background.
The entire report is styled by either the "RowType" value or some of the other items in the datatable.
The Problem:
We have decided to change our report to make use of grouping, instead of drill down reports. I'm not going to go into the reasons for this decision.
The grouped rows each have a little icon to the left of it (Generated by report server) which is used to view the details of that row.(Sorry about that, pretty sure you know all this).
I have coded the "expand icon" to be hidden on rows that does not have detailed/grouped data, but that left me with the problem that the grey column would now also be hidden which leaves me with a blank white space instead of the grey cell.
Obviously this makes my report look horrible. Is there any way to remove the icon for a particular row without setting the Hidden property to True?
If not, is there a way to have the report row fill the background of a hidden cell with a defined colour?
The bottom right corner contains an example of what it looks like when one of the grey cells have been hidden. The bottom left shows the report with the unwanted icons in the grey cells
I think you could cut your current textbox out (the one with the +- icon, then add a rectangle from the toolbox into that cell, then paste your textbox back in. That way the texbox becomes a child of the rectangle. Then you can move your grey formatting to the rectangle, which will never be hidden.
I have a tablix with two columns of data (the section name and the section text). The section text has grown so large for some sections that the row representing the section takes up 2/3 or more of the page. THe report prints fine until on of these large rows would have to split over the end of a page and continue on the next page. In this case, and only in this case, the rows leaves large amounts of white space on current page and start on the next page (as if it had a page break before it)
I have already set the Tablix General Property "keep together on one page if possible" to true and all the other page break options for the tablix and row groups to false, to no avail.
Does anyone know of a trick or work around to make the large rows split over pages??
Setting Keep together on one page if possible to true/checked will cause SSRS to attempt to keep the row on one page, which means if the data spans across page breaks it will move that row to start on a new page so that it can be seen on one page, which would introduce white space where the row would be if the table was contiguous. So you need this setting set to False/Unchecked.
Next, ensure that the row group proeprty Keep together is set to False. This can't be accessed through the normal dialog box. If you don't have the properties pane showing in BIDS, then pressing F4 will bring this pane up. Select the row group(s), and ensure the property is appropriately set.
Also make sure that the text boxes inside the tablix are also set to KeepTogether=False. This will fix the problem.
I have 4 tables and each table has hidden expression. I need to start each table from new page. I applied page break at end of tables but it didn't take any effect. Then I placed these 4 tables in 4 rectangles and applied page break at end of rectangles. It works fine and every table starts from new page, but now the issue is if any table has no data than there is blank page in report.

Actually report width and body width was not right.
Always remember that ReportWidth-LeftMargin-RightMargin > BodyWidth
I've got the following report setup:
1. Letterhead (not in the header, since i only want it on the first page)
2. List control with some data
when i export the report to PDF, and the contents of the List are less that one full page - my letterhead is displayed on the first page (the rest of the page is empty) and the List content gets moved to the second page.
if the List grows over 1 page - reports is showing up just fine (Letterhead and portion of the list on the first page - the rest on the second page)
It looks like it tries to keep the list on 1 page as long as its contents fit on the page - but when you add the letterhead to the contents it overflows the page, and the list gets bumped down to the next page.
Is there any way to keep the list on the first page regardless of its size.
Putting the letterhead in the list is my last resort, I'd like to hear some other solutions.
uploaded a sample .rdl to illustrate the problem
got rid of the list for simplicity, the problem seems to be with a textbox wanting to show up on 1 page
p.s. see this question for more details
What is the source of your text? Is it coming from a dataset? If so, Add a paragraph id in it, set your table to group on the paragraph id and show only the group header. In the group, add a bottom padding value of say 5. The table will handle the paragraph breaks for you, and if it grows more the a page it will handle it for you. Make sure that keep together is set to false. The paragraph id will be used to sort the dataset by id ascending.
sorry I didn't notice your comment at the end. The only other thing that i can think of is to shift your list up closer to the header and eliminate all empty space at the end. Also, make sure the KeepTogether option in the list is set to false. This way it will break up your list rather than move it to the next page.
you can put both the letterhead and the list inside a rectangle so they are always grouped together.
Reporting services also tries to keep the relative spaces you have in the designer, so if you list is aligned to the bottom of the page and there is a space form the header; it will keep the space on top and align everything to the bottom of the page.
