I'm looking for a good working example of off-canvas responsive design. Just trying to replicate the interface of Google+ android application, and add the panel on the right.
Something like this example. However this example has a number of issues:
does not work well on touch screen (Chrome on Galaxy Nexus);
the menu should be under the content div, not sliding with it;
the 'menu' button does not slide with the content div to the right.
Can you tell me how it is better to build somethig like this?
Thanks for any help.
The Zurb Foundation framework includes off-canvas responsive design along w/ a few cool examples and instructions

Im relatively new to web development working on creating a website using React JS.
Im really not able to figure out how I can make the elements on the website resize or arrange themselves nicely when the window gets resized, or appear like when viewed from a mobile device.
Like all the elements adjust themselves based on vh and vw when the window size decreases/increases diagonally, however if the vh stays the same and vw changes, everything ends up all over the place.
Are there any plugins or anything ReactStrap related that can help me achieve this dynamic resizing and fitting? OR should i use tools like wordpress which seem to automatically take care of this issue rather than me manually writing all the HTML and CSS for the website.
Thank you
You can use Bootstrap to create a Responsive web-page. For React users they have the React bootstrap, without jQuery dependency- https://react-bootstrap.github.io/.
Please try this for a fully responsive webpage. For a responsive grid layout you can use Bootstrap grid sysytem - https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.0/layout/grid/
#yolopolo you could also do that by learning how to make a website responsive depending on the device's screen. Please check this one out: https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_rwd_intro.asp
and test your webpage responsive by learning Chrome's Device Mode in Dev Tools

I've looked all over, but I can't find the exact solution to what I want to do. I'm new to coding so it's likely a simple solution that I'm just not seeing.
I want to create a sidebar nav that is fixed on desktop and tablets, but collapses into a hamburger menu that is fixed to the top on mobile using Bootstrap 4. A lot of the examples I found used the now outdated affix property. The other examples were collapsible, but I want the sidebar to always be open on desktop and tablet. I attached photos of how I designed it on desktop and mobile for further reference.
I know you are asking about bootstrap, but since you anyway use external library for such thing, maybe this small script would be a solution for you. It does exactly what you need: https://github.com/grzegorzgit/Litomobile
If your menu is based on ul and li, this script automaticaly creates animated mobile menu and icon for the window size you want.
I was searching for a way to create a sliding window/panel like the one below on jQuery mobile but I could not find any examples.

Appreciate if anyone can help me out. Thanks

I think it is a good starting point.
I also invite you to see the following address ( 20 Free Responsive Jquery Carousel Slider Plugins ) :

Carousel sliders is now a must have feature in all business, portfolio or any website template. Along with fullscreen image sliders we can see that horizontal carousel image sliders works well with any website design and are implemented alongside. Sometimes slider needs to be one by third of a website page and that is where tiny carousel sliders come in with loads of transitions effects and even with responsive layout. eCommerce websites may be the best benefited from these sliders as they need to showcase many pics in an individual post or page. All code here is free to use and you may alter it according to your needs if you are already a developer.
I would love to use zurb foundation Navigation menus in bootstrap project but i am not sure how i can or is it possible to integrate zurb foundation menu for example one show in this example in bootstrap 2.3 http://foundation.zurb.com/docs/components/top-bar.html
I am facing couple of issue with boostrap menus like hover effect even after implementing few different methods i am still not happy with the bootstrap menu as i was both hover & click event to work effectively on both desktop and mobile devices.
Example which i have set up after here show one of the issue i face on mobile devices. you can try it for you self
So far i have see hover & click event works very smoothly on both desktop & mobile device.
I would appreciate help in this regard so that i can integrate only zurb foundation navigation menus in bootstrap project
What are the minimum files that i need to use beside app.css for menu to works like a charm.
You can customize the zurb-foundation download at http://foundation.zurb.com/download.php, first uncheck "all foundation components" then just check the "top bar" option.
Now, to use the top-bar foundation 4 within bootstrap, try to put the your top-bar class outside the div "cointainer"
Bootstrap 3 has a better nav-bar.
I'm making a quick and dirty website for a university wed design module. The website isn't intended to work but instead to be used as a tool to demonstrate how the proposed design would look and operate.
I have used a bootstrap template and things have gotten a bit messy.
The Problem:
I have a navigation bar on the left of each page with an image as a background. if i re-size my browser window the content remains the same height (as it should) but the background disappears from the bottom.
here's a link to the website:

I don't know if this is due to poorly formed HTML or a css issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.
This has to do with bootstrap because it makes it able to use the layout on your phone.
the lower the width the more it's going to move to phone version.
