The background is easy enough to create, but I'm not quite sure how they got that custom nav bar running along the top as well as adjusted the margin/padding to accommodate for it. Is this something that can be done easily or does it require having several million subscribers before you can use custom HTML/CSS? Thanks in advance!
That's a channel banner, and your YouTube account needs to be a Brand Channel to be able to do this. If I'm not mistaken you would have to sign up for an advertising account (which means payment of some kind). I can't access that page because I'm outside the US, but more info here, presumably.

Full Disclosure, talk to me like I am stupid because, well, I kinda need to be guided.
I would like to create a series of web pages where the user would hear a sound when they would click on links whether it be photos or text links it doesn't really matter. The idea here is to generate an audio sound when a link is clicked. And I want that to be able to span across all clickable links in the HTML document. I am not sure how to do it and I'm not asking Google the right question because I'm learning how to do sounds for every other possible aspect of web development rather than this specific need. Might be because I haven't slept in 24 hours but I'm trying to create the Kobayashi Maru and it would be really cool if I could make the lcars computer sound effects.
So how can I make all the links play the same sound or ideally I'd like to be able to make sounds for active links and then a different sound for non active links but I would just settle for one sound effect right now. Could anybody please help me out?

Has anyone got any idea on how to implement this carousel into my website? I am using WordPress and I am not sure how to go about this. I was told to use 'foo gallery' to achieve the same look however, it doesn't really feel the same and also didn't work on my site (for some reason).
I have tried to code some of this but I am awful at coding and I am mainly just spending my time watching youtube help videos if I am being honest!
I'll explain my neeed for this and what I would like it to do and then, if you could help me that would be great!
So like on reddit, I would like to implement this feature on my home screen to show off some of the 'Hot topics of the day'. Preferably, some code could automatically update the images and text each day depending on the comments/views left on a page - so the top 4 most viewed pages would be automatically added to the front page with a custom image (which I have created). However, that seems quite hard. So just the layout/template of the images (like the photo provided) AND there is a way for me to manually change the images and names each day would suffice. I would also like to have 4 photos which also act as buttons with the curved boarders.(again, like the image I have attached)
Just so it's clear, I do not want these images to be able to move off like a slideshow, I just want them to stay in place and be able to change either manually or automatically.
Maybe this is called something other than a carousel and would be easy to do... i dont know! So if you do, please let me know.
Furthermore, I appreciate this is a place mainly for code to be posted however, I won't post my code as it is useless! If anyone wants to share any code or contact me privately then that would be very much appreciated.

I've been asked to make an interactive site map for a local development which has a few houses on it, so users can click on the relevant house within an aerial site layout, and see it's details listed, and whether or not it's sold.
Staff need to be able to mark houses as 'sold'.
It's been a while since I've done anything like this - in the past I would have used flash and had the sold status updated via actionscript and php, but things have moved on. What are some of the most popular methods now?
I've included an example below which is a lot larger scale than what I'm looking to do, but the same principle. I can't work out how they did it though, and I'd really like it to be vector so it can be zoomed into without losing quality, plus have the option to animate things like the popup bubbles etc if the tech allows.
Also, I'd probably be looking to include this in a Kirby CMS site, and hopefully have the updating done through that, but it's fairly flexible.

we have website with slideshow control which display a set of images. Client requested to "protect" them from downloading. I know about simple ways to do this:
Disable right click
Put transparent overlay on top of the real image
Use CSS background
Use canvas
Watermarking
etc...
all of these are only for "casual" users - those ones who are not aware of Dev Tools in chrome.
Are there other ways to "protect" images? The only approach I could think of is to develop custom flash (or silverlight) plugin which will send image ID to the webserver and receive "encoded" byte stream - and decode it and display it. Am I over-complicating this? are there other ways to prevent image download?
if flash plugin + webservice approach is the right way to go - are there any ready-to-go solutions, or I should develop everything from scratch?

THere's no way to protect your image against being downloaded. Your users have to download it to view it. Your proprietary player will fail too if someone uses screen capture tools.
EDIT:
The best thing you can to is to make the reuse (I assume you don't want your visitors to use it elsewhere?) of the image as difficult as possible. Watermarks might be a good start to deter some people because they don't have the resource and expertise to de-watermark. Or you can embed steganography as a proof of origin so you can sue them afterward. Again, it's all about trade off between cost to do this and benefit from this.
It's impossible to prevent people from downloading your images. But, I want to offer another perspective -- you can create images that people like to view and play with but don't necessarily want to download.

If the images have an intrinsic value that the client wants to protect, yet has to allow potential purchasers to view prior to purchase, then you need to minimize the value of the pre-purchase image. Only displaying thumbnails, adding visible watermarks, and otherwise distorting the image in ways that humans can easily see past, but will still see are usual here.
Then there is the issue of protecting the post-purchase images. Invisible watermarking (one example here, another here) can allow the customer to purchase and use the image as you allow, but if the image appears somewhere, used in an inappropriate manner, you can use the ID embedded invisibly (to a human) to identify just which customer violated the Terms of Use. These watermarks may even survive a degree of image manipulation and even digital photography of the image on a monitor.
If any user of the site has to be able to view the full, un-devalued image, you could add an unique ID linked to their IP address to the image as it is delivered to the slideshow control, so that each user receives a unique "copy", and you can trace misuse of an image to an IP address (and date, as many users have dynamic IPs, but ISPs keep records of IP assignments over time) for potential prosecution.
I am in the middle of a Extension build. Basically I'm trying to do a web-based RPG based off of PMOG(the Nethernet). I'm looking for some kind of overlay function like this:

Also, is there any way I can log the websites someone goes to, without actually logging the websites? I'm trying to base EXP earned and Gold earned on how many times they go to a website per day. (I.E. 40xp/gold the first time and 10 every other time)
To create "pop overs", you would create a <div> on the page with a very high z-index (which is a CSS attribute). z-index determine what goes on top of what else. From there, you can use absolute/relative positioning to determine where it should appear on the screen (again, using CSS). To show/dismiss it, you can use a large variety of JavaScript techniques (including sliding it in from off the page).
