Can the wxAUI component of the wxWidgets Libary be configured to dock into "auto hiding tabs" like visual studio 2010's own interface does.
This is what I want, panels that can be auto hidden in tabs.

This is what I get, panels that take up 1/2 space each and always remain on screen.

Thanks
wxAUI does not currently have any support for this, although it could be added without immense difficulty.

When I go to the package configuration wizard the configuration filter dialog box is cutoff, has anyone solved this?
Resizing window just kept that dialog box cut off
I can resize just fine using the lower right corner sash to change the window.
An alternative that always works with windows forms is the Tab key as that'll navigate you to the items, even if they're offscreen.
At one point, VS seemed to have rendering issues with the adjust visual experience checkbox and the consensus a decade back was to uncheck that if it was acting "weird." It's been some time since I've had to fiddle with that setting though so the issue seems to have been resolved.
That's VS 2017 in my screenshots. The corner sash exists on VS 2015 as well. Beyond that, I'd need to go to archives or install current VS editions to explore. As to simulating the drop down arrow selector, holding left Alt key down and hitting the down arrow brings up those selectors.
I think I managed to navigate the entire sequence of adding a configuration without using a mouse in my little video here (although I tried really hard at the end).
I am Trying to find out the "correct"(best practice) way of creating toggleable sidebar with bootstrap 4. Gone through the examples on the internet and not so sure if those were so good...so If someone can send me related resource links ,it would be great so that I can analyze it.
-I am from android platform so I'm a newbie when it comes to web development but I'm trying to achieve that kind of sidebar like on this side: link -notice: sidebar doesn't change its width(stretching) while changeing the size of a browser -until a point when it jumps over to icons width.
Bootstrap does not have an "official" sidebar implementation so nothing is "correct" here. As long as it works cross-browser/cross-device, anything is good to go.
Regarding the sidebar implementation itself, there are various options:
opens above the content,
pushes the content to the opposite side
squeezes the content
The above options and the array of animation possibilities for:
the sidebar itself,
the menu item containers,
the menu names/labels
and the menu icons...,
...make any attempt at providing an example prone to subjective preference and would render your question off-topic.
Other possible features are
auto-open above certain width,
auto-close below certain width,
reordering of elements,
three-state (full, min and off).
But on topic, the only objective answer to your question is: there is none (official).
As a starter, you might want to take a look at this simple sidebar. It works prefectly fine with v4. Just import the simple-sidebar.css and adjust the calls to match your project's elements.
In the end, the sidebar is all about two containers and applying a class (plus, ideally, some aria- attributes for screen readers). What you put in those containers and how you adjust the contents to look in each element state is all about your own (or the designer's, or the client's) personal preference.
The numbers column is very wide, and this is bothers me. I want to open more workspaces. Therefore I want it to be narrow. How do I do this?
I use PHPStorm Version 2017.1.4. In this version there is an option to hide gutter icons, which reduces the line number column width. Even if there are no gutter icons visible, the space is still allocated. If you don't need these icons, you can choose to hide them in the settings and the column width will be reduced.
Navigate in settings to: Editor > General > Gutter Icons
Uncheck: "Show Gutter Icons"

It seems that is not possible because the place is used by others functionality of PHPStorm. Others questions on StakOverflow deal with disable this other functionality on this place but is not possible too.
We have nothing action on this place of PHPStorm. Use or no functionality.
You can try to open an issue on jetBrains website...
Make sure "editor.distraction.free.mode" isn't enabled in Registry. Otherwise this is a bug: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-148002
I was wondering, normally chrome extensions appear in their little area below their icon, but how would I make one that has it's own little space on a side of the browser, like FireBug lite does for chrome? Where it pushes the page up and docks at the bottom.
I have seen the sidebar in the 'experimental.sidebar' chrome api, but I don't want to use it because you have to start chrome with the command line switch --enable-experimental-extension-apis, and not many people would do that.
Basically, until sidebars graduate from experimental status, you use a content script to set a big margin or padding on one side of body or html, inject a position: fixed element into the current page overlaid on that margin, and then draw to that.
Anything that needs to persist between pages gets stored by the extension and you re-create the pseudo-sidebar every time a page is loaded.
See the Firebug Lite or StumbleUpon extensions for examples.
People usually use DOM manipulation. You can take a look at FireBugs source to see how they did the DOM. It is quite slow, but until the sidebars go out of experimental, that is the only way to do it right now.
I am a newcomer to Java Swing. I am using the GUI builder of Netbeans.
I have three main panels for three different views in my application. These views can be switched by a menu on the left.
I switch these views by setting one visible and setting the other two invisible. It works but there is a little problem.
In order to achieve this, I had to put three JScrollPanes next to each other horizontally in the GUI builder. Whenever I switch to a view, the small gaps between the visible component and the invisible ones remain when the visible JScrollPane resizes itself to fill the entire window. It makes the application look quite ugly. The same thing happens when I place them vertically.
How can I fix this by using the GUI builder? I can't make changes to the code for the interface design, obviously.
Here is a very crude drawing of the problem, I hope it's clear enough: Link
Using only one JScrollPane is not an option, because they have different layout managers and will have lots and lots of components. It would not be feasible in terms of performance to render everything from the beginning when a user changes the view.
Thanks in advance,
Emre
Fixed the problem myself.
You can prevent this by right clicking to each JPanel component in Netbeans, choosing "Space Around Component..." from the popup menu and set the corresponding spaces to 0 by hand.
Updating the answer to NetBeans 8. You now right-click the component and select "Edit Layout Space" and manually enter the value 0 in the direction with you would like the spacing removed.
