First, I'm trying this through Google (not using API). Want to see if it's possible without API first.
I have a saved map in google which has some points of interest. (ex: national parks)
However, when I search for directions (ex: from: denver, co to: chicago, il) the directions appear, but my saved map (POI's) disappear.
Has or does anyone know how I can modify the URL to have these 2 overlay?
Thanks!
My workflow is:
-Go to Google maps (sign in if necessary)
-Go to My Places
-Select the map you're interested in,
-From here, click on Get directions, type A an B then enter
-Here, you have your directions but your map is lost, but...
-If you click on My Places and your map again, bingo!
You can save directions to the 'My Maps' feature of Google Maps. Once you search for directions, there is a link at the bottom of the direction sidebar titled 'Save to My Maps'. After the directions are saved, you can add custom features to the map in the 'My Maps' editor.

There is already a feature request for this in the IssueTracker for Google Maps Platform. You can star this issue to get updates on it.

Trying to implement a search feature for USA cities in my IOS app. My goal is to use Google's Autocomplete API while legally avoiding the use of a Google map.
So, if I use Places Autocomplete API to display a list of suggested cities as the user types do I have to use a Google map if I geocode the chosen autocomplete result through apple with CLGeocoder?
Google says you must use their data in their maps. However, if I geocode through Apple to retrieve the coordinates for display on a map, the map data isn't coming from Google. Is this legal?
I know Airbnb uses Googles places api but they use Apple maps.
According to Places API Policies:
If your application displays Google Places API Web Service data on a map, that map must be provided by Google.
If your application displays Google Places API Web Service data on a page or view that does not also display a Google Map, you must show a "Powered by Google" logo with that data. For example, if your application displays a list of places on one tab, and a Google Map with those places on another tab, the first tab must show the "Powered by Google" logo.
So you can use Places autocomplete without a Google map, but in this case the logo is required.

I am using a javascript Google Maps V3 to show the location of places I have on my site, I can only offer a small view on my site so anyone who wants to see the larger map on google should either click on the Google icone on the bottom left, or in some cases I saw a link/button on the map stating "click to show on Google Maps".
So my question is how to show the link/button on my map that can open the same location on google maps site.
Google map provides an option to customize the link by adding some parameters for viewing map.
You can get the list of parameters here:
http://alvarestech.com/temp/routeconverter/RouteConverter/navigation-formats/src/main/doc/googlemaps/Google_Map_Parameters.htm
You'll need to pass the parameters to the link.
Example: https://www.google.com.au/maps/preview/#,,
You can also refer this post for more details: How do I link to Google Maps with a particular longitude and latitude?
I tried generating a url as per the answer by Everton Cunha here: What parameters should I use in a Google Maps URL to go to a lat-lon? i.e.
http://maps.google.com/?q=MY%20LOCATION#lat,long
This works for me in Google Maps in what is now called "Classic Mode", but in the new Google Maps, it places a marker, displays the lat/long next to it, and the marker does not display any information when I click on it, and the nearest address appears in the search box. I need a url that places the marker at the specified lat/long, and also includes some text describing what the marker is.
I want to place a link on my website that links to google maps,
however I can't find information on how to form the url.
I have lat and lng coordinates and I want a marker to show the exact point.
I have this for example
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=55.236865,-1.616422&z=15
but it shows no marker
This can be done even easier now: https://google.com/maps/place/55.236861,-1.616417
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Via+Celadina,+4,+24125+Bergamo+Bergamo,+Lombardy,+Italy&sll=6.315299,14.414063&sspn=123.405342,329.0625&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=0,45.688764,9.709610&ll=45.689094,9.709618&spn=0.00676,0.020084&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr
