Missing "Mono for Android SDKs" option in MonoDevelop's preferences - monodevelop

I was unable to locate the "Mono for Android SDKs" preferences option when following the Mono for Android for Mac installation instructions.
troubleshooting steps I've tried:
After completing installation of the evaluation copy of Mono for Android for Mac I restarted MonoDevelop (version 2.4.2) and still didn't have the option available. I rebooted my Mac but that did not trigger MonoDevelop to expose the option either. I tried reinstalling the Mono for Android addin also.
Anyone struggled with the same problem? Let me know what you tried. Thanks!

I suppose it's funny to answer my own question, but on further troubleshooting steps...
I installed the lastest MonoDevelop beta and the preferences option appeared.

ERROR:gpu_memory_buffer_support_x11.cc(44)] dri3 extension not supported

I'm trying to open google chrome from terminal in Ubuntu but after submiting google-chrome I'm getting this error:
ERROR:gpu_memory_buffer_support_x11.cc(44)] dri3 extension not supported
I've installed it by following this tutorial: https://itsfoss.com/install-chrome-ubuntu/
I've looked at this but it didn't help me How to open google chrome from terminal?
Does anyone know how I can solve this issue?
Thanks!
I just ran
sudo apt list --upgradable
Chrome was one of the upgradable list, then ran the command
sudo apt upgrade
I had the same problem, updating the GPU drivers resolved the problem.
I installed Chromium via Snap instead (sudo snap install chromium). I get the same error message, but the browser appears to be running correctly anyway. I'd still like to know what it means and how to fix it....

After mac os sierra update facing scrolling issue with Java applications like Intellij

After the recent update, Mac os Sierra, to my Macbook pro, I'm facing scrolling issues with all Java applications like Intellij IDEA community edition.
The scrolling in the editor panes are extremely fast. The unit of
scroll increments seem to be large.
Intellij IDEA Version is 2016.2.3.
Java version is Java 8 Update 10.1.
I see the same behavior even in the "System Preference" -> "Java" -> "Advanced" tab .
This is a known bug, likely caused by the JDK:
It looks like JDK issue and is reproducible with a simple scrollable JList.
Sierra generates much more events than El Captain.
These events contain values ~0.1 instead of expected ~1.
But Java converts these small number to 1 anyway.
Edit: see also this OpenJDK bug: https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8166591
Edit2: as described in the other answer, JetBrains have fixed their custom JDK. You can download it here and follow these instructions to make IntelliJ use this JDK instead (select the option labeled ... to choose a custom location).
You need to install JDK from JetBrains as it includes fix for this issue.
Link to JDK:
Unpack it somewhere, press Command ⌘ + Shift + A, paste "Switch IDE Boot JDK" and point to unpacked directory.
Link to instructions from JetBrains.
UPD: JetBrains fixed this issue in latest build. See link.

Why can't I install Xcode7 beta5?

I have downloaded Xcode7 beta5 from Xcode link. However, when I click the dmg file, and the prompt interface is:
Why there is a forbidden mark above the Xcode icon?Does anyone knows how to fix it.
My system version is OS X Yosemite 10.10.3.
I have figured it out. Xcode7 beta5 requires OSX version to be 10.10.4 or above.
I believe it only installs OS X 10.10.3 or later. Is that what you are running?

How can I downgrade to Chrome 42.0.2311.90?

Google Chrome on my machine recently got updated to v44.
I'm working with Selenium WebDriver on Chrome and as soon as I updated Chrome, all my tests went dead. I use Chromedriver v2.16. My partner's PC has Chrome v42.0.2311.90 and Chromedriver v2.16. And tests run fine on his machine. Now, based on this I'm pretty sure the problem is probably not with Chromedriver.
So, how can I downgrade to Chrome 42.0.2311.90?
I've tried using an offline installer from here:
Google Chrome Alternate Offline Installer
But this always gives me the latest version to install i.e. v44.
The release that I need can be found here:
Google Chrome v42.0.2311.90 Stable Channel Update
Uninstall your current chrome version.
Remove all Chrome data for current version from: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome
Download your particular version from chrome_installer.
Disable chrome updates using instructions given on this link.
Following steps help you to install your desired google chrome version :
1 - Uninstall your current google chrome version.
2 - Download your desired google chrome version from here : Google Chrome Download
3 - Restart PC once so if any registry or temp file stored of previous google chrome then it will get refresh.
4 - Install your downloaded google chrome. And then turn off automatic chrome update.
I struggled with this same problem on Mac, trying to downgrade, and stay downgraded from Chrome 53 to 52 due to a serious bug affecting webaudio.
None of the other recommendation appear to apply any more (or on Mac OS X at least). The app attempts to upgrade itself and there doesn't be a way to configure that in a "Chrome-friendly" way.
Eventually I resorted to force...
Close and uninstall Chrome
Edit your /etc/hosts file to prevent update checks from working by overriding the DNS entry:
0.0.0.0 tools.google.com
Find and download an old release. This is left as an exercise, this was actually hard and fraught with fear of bad binaries. I was able to cross-reference MD5s from one site that didn't have downloads with another that had downloads.
Install and run the older version
Important: Check the "About" page, and point and laugh at Chrome's attempts to check in.
This is how you can use an older chrome version "in general":
Uninstall your current chrome
Install the chrome version you desire
DO NOT open chrome!! after installation
Instead disable auto-updates like here or here
Only then may you work with your desired chrome browser version
As for how to get a specific older version:
You need to google, search forums or try sites like this. It's just "grunt work" to find the version you are looking for. If you're extremely unlucky, the very version you need might even not be around any more.
If you are running on a windows machine you can leverage the package manager chocolatey, this is how we I'm doing it from Jenkins, we call a powershell that uninstalls a previous version and install a specific one: From a powershell ide script window, you need to have installed the modules for chocolatey that is a small price to pay for a lot of benefit:
choco install googlechrome --version 62.0.3202.94 -y
Then to prevent Chrome to self update I am performing this steps:
1. Verify Chrome's current version.
(Get-Item (Get-ItemProperty 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\chrome.exe').'(Default)').VersionInfo
Install the version I'm aiming for:
choco install googlechrome --version 62.0.3202.94 -y
You can look for available versions here:
https://chocolatey.org/packages/GoogleChrome
(Find Version History Section)
Kill GoogleCrashHandler.exe in any of its variants 32 or 64 bits or both.
Delete the Directories
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\CrashReporter
You will loose the ability to auto update (which is the whole purpose right) and
you will loose the ability to send crash reports and piggy back on that executable to update against your will whenever google deems convenient.
5.Disable Chrome Services

Error when set project in release mode - Windows Phone 8.1

Am porting my Windows Phone 8 app to Windows Phone 8.1 and everything is working fine in debug mode. But when I set in release mode and while building the application, I get the error,
The type of namespace "FlickGestureEventArgs" could not be found
The type of namespace "ShakeGestureEventArgs" could not be found
How to overcome this? I couldn't launch the app certification kit when in debug mode.
Got solution for my own question and here is my answer.
First I re-installed the WP toolkit from nuget using the command
Install-Package WPtoolkit
So that I can able to solve FlickGestureEventArgs. And similarly I thought this will be solution to my another problem ShakeGestureEventArgs. Started searching for the new ShakeGesture.dll and find that in below link.
ShakeGesture.dll
Now my problem is solved. If you are facing the same issues, just re install the packages which shows error and you can able to solve it.
