I'm trying to get SQL Server Report Manager to work. I'm on windows 7, 64 bit, installed SQL Server Developer with everything included. Every service for MSSQLSERVER is running, IIS is running.
I go to localhost/reportmanager and get a rsAccessDenied message. I've looked at almost every website on this problem, but only found useless answers. Answers like "disable anonymous users in IIS" (what? No.) and always this thing about doing stuff in report manager. I don't have report manager, I have BIDS.
I try as follows: I'm an administrator, still, I run IE as administrator. I'm prompted for my credentials. I use my credentials for my current account, get rsAccessDenied message.
To make the Report Manager work under Windows 7, I had to add the registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy"=dword:00000001
Now, the local administrator can login to localhost/reports.
Also, see:

BIDS is a Visual Studio plug-ins to handle BI projects.
You do have Report Manager if you have installed the SSRS services.
First off, have you activated the SSRS install by running the Report Server Config utility?
Second, have you configured SSRS for WIn Vista/Win 7?
Also, last time I looked the default is
/Reports is Report Manager
/RportServer is the underlying web service that both Report Manager and VS use
Why do you say "I haven't got Report Manager" and then proceed to launch a URL with "ReportManager" in it?

I've got this error when I tried to deploy SSRS report in Visual Studio.
(DAX 2012 kernel 6.0.1108.6510 app 6.0.1108.670 solution 6.1.1108.670)
Error 1 A call to the Microsoft Dynamics AX SRSFrameworkService service failed. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 10.43.6.57:8201. C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\DynamicsTools\Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Design.Reporting.Modeling.targets 466
10.43.6.57:8201 is old address new should be 10.43.6.91:8201
Where I can change it?
In AX form SSRSServerFarm address is new:(NLDDAXDBS02TR, http://NLDDAXDBS02TR/Reports, 01#NLDDAXDBS02TR)
I run Visual Studio like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" /AxConfig "c:\Users\Username\Desktop\DEV.axc" with correct config file
in axc file I don't have 10.43.6.57 or old dns NLDDAXDBS01T
I scanned and replaced values in registry on client and server machine, checked all files on client and server machine, checked all values in database.
Also restarted AOSes, SSRS service, and client RDP session.
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Configuration and perform a Refresh Configuration didn't help
Full CIL Compilation, Deactivate BIServices, Activate BIServices also didn't help
Running Visual Studio as Admin - same result
nslookup says: NLDDAXDBS01T - 10.43.6.57 NLDDAXDBS02TR - 10.43.6.91
System Administration > Setup > Business intelligence > Report Servers is correct because i tried to deploy from another rdp server and it works fine
Are you certain the default report server is setup correctly in Ax?
Found under:
System Administration > Setup > Business intelligence > Report
Servers
Check your business connector configuration to make sure it's connecting to the right environment, see https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa569654.aspx
I think Visual Studio deploys to AX based on that business connector AXC, so if that's pointed to an incorrect environment that has the "old" SSRS setup, it would explain your issue.
I got this problem one time due to multiple AOS and SSRS instance, or you might stop AOS service while user still using.
First, you need to make sure Report servers configuration point correctly to SSRS instance.
Then, stop all AOS service, go to reporting service login with correct instance and check everything again.
Then, perform full compilation using AXbuild.exe , Full CIL.
Start AOS service and check.
Let us know result.
I installed SSRS on my computer with the file SSDTBI_x86_ENU.exe. I started to create a report server project which contain tow .rdl file. Now I want to deploy it so I can see my reports in the browser. When I click the start button Visual studio give me an error and say that I have to specify a valid URL. So I went to reporting services configuration manager. My problem is when I enter my server name it says invalid namespace!!
Despite taking -2 for this question, I will answer it because I resolve it and hope that will help somebody someday. It is a problem connected to the version of SQL server express with tools. It didn't allow the deployement of rapports. So I uninstall it and install sql server express with advanced services and every thing magically worked.
I have a problem. This co-worker, whenever they open a BIDS project it gives her an error message:
...cannot be opened because its project type (.rptproj) is not
supported by this version of the application.
However, if I remote onto the computer using my login, it opens stuff just fine. The thing is, it was working for them for about 8-9 months. It just 'randomly' started doing this today. It also gives a similar error when creating new report projects.
Do you have an idea what the issue might be? I'm thinking maybe it's a configuration in the user profile? I mean, the computer obviously can open it up- just not for them. Has anyone experienced this and resolved it?
We are using the BIDS suite that comes with SQL Server. It is VS2008, we are running SQL Server 2008 R2.
Thanks in advance.
From Solved: project type (.rptproj) is not supported by this version of the application:
Install "Business Intelligence Development Studio" from the SQL Server 2008 installer.
See Business Intelligence Development Studio 2008 installation for more information on the installation.
I have recently installed SQL Server 2012 Developer on my laptop. I created a simple SSRS report using AdventureWorks201. The report builds fine but will not deploy. I get the error "The specified report server URL http:/localhost/Reports_MSSQLSERVER2012 could not be found"
I am able to browse to said URL without issue. I can even upload the report and run it just fine. I am using an administrator account in both cases (on the URL and within SSDT).
Is there some reason why SSDT cannot see the URL I am specifying?
I am new to SSRS. I have developed some reports using BIDS using SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) when I run them from my machine reports are running ok. But there are not appearing from SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS). Even when I open SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) in a web broswer
I can not see the reports on SSRS. How can I ensure that these reports are appearing or can be seen on SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) URL?
Please help.
Have you deployed them?
Right-Click on the report and go to Deploy
or
In the Build menu select "Deploy projectname"
You may have to set the project properties first for TargetServerURL to something like
http://SSRSserver/reportserver
They can be found in the Project menu under "projectname Properties"
There are two options to deploy your reports on server -
1] You can directly deploy it from your VS by right clicking on your report & selecting deploy option, here you need to mention target server -
http://[server name]/ReportServer
2] If you are able to access report server then web browser provide one option to upload your reports. So you can upload your report directly on report server (.rdl file). Here you need to set proper connnection string & permission rights to access the report.
Hope this will help you..!!
