I've looked at What is the single most influential book every programmer should read? to find some books to read. The books are needed for my train trip each day to/from work and having a book on 960 pages is just a bit over kill in my opinion. Therefore i'm looking for an alternative to code complete which is just a bit smaller and maybe something like 2-300 pages.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks.

Quick question: I have seen that having a journal for development, and this could be paper, app, online tool, etc. What I am looking for is either a mac app or online app that I can write in that has multiple diaries that helps me to stay organized and not lose my ideas, or ideas that I have just read.
Thank you for your ideas or what works best for you.

Try Evernote. I have also tried using TiddlyWiki. Evernote and Skitch combination works great.

I'd say I have pretty good grasp of core concepts of html/css/jQuery.
But I still have hard time trying to create a web page where it involves a lot of
use of div containers, making menu bars, and similar layouts.
There are some systems to help simplify layout, or at least prototype them. For example, http://960.gs is one that I've started from for many sites.

I've read this quote somewhere:
"Good programmers write good code.
Great programmers steal great code"
What is the difference between "good" and "great"? Great is better than good?
And to be honest... I don't understand this quote...
PS: maybe the title is not explicit and my English not correct, please correct it to be proper English, thanks a lot!
Great programmers know that their brand-new code will likely never be as good as something that has been around for a while, presumably battle-tested in a number of different situations.
